First of all, what an incredible find here in the backwaters of Edmond. This is a fantastic find for amazing Pakistani food that is thoughtfully cooked and very carefully curated. The staff is incredibly intentive, and the food was actually perfect in all dimensions. Coupled with mixed extensive menu This is the place that you will not be disappointed. I had a chicken dish that was perfectly cooked and had amazing flavor and just the right amount of heat. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free wife and left us wanting more!! Seriously! What a hidden gem! Absolutely great food and amazing kind service. The butter chicken was great in medium spice- next time I'll do a little more spice! The lamb pulao was great, tender and deeply flavorful. The garlic naan was good, crisp and buttery! I'm not a huge okra fan but the masala was great. My husband wanted to try it and was very pleased. How truly unfortunate that I need to rate Mirchi Joint with a single star. That star is for their truly delicious food. It has been our favorite Indian place, until tonight. We will be going elsewhere for Indian food thanks to blatently poor service and crappy ambiance, reeking of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. First, while the waitress was working solo, we were the only customers for thirty minutes. Service was fair at that point. Then, a family of six came in and were seated at a large table close to us. The two young girls immediately began whining for TV so the parents went to the big screen TV and turned it on to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, at full volume. Really??? Who in the world does that??!! My husband and I were enjoying a nice dinner together until that point . I could not believe the audacity and rudeness!! Who turns on a television in a restaurant with other diners nearby with the volume filling the whole area??? With that going on, we were patient with the waitress since she now had two tables. Still, she never once returned after delivering our meals, literally never. No checking on is, no asking how the food is, no refilling our drinks. Nothing. After 45 minutes of waiting, we were long finished and ready for the check. I was waiting for her to finish chatting with her co-worker to wave her over but as she finally made eye contact with me, it was as she and said co-worker, who was one of two cooks, were running out the front door and over to Braums next door. That left one single cook in the back and zero staff out front. We watched and waited and five minutes later, they came back across the parking lot with ice cream cones. Still ignoring us, they went to the back to eat their ice cream. With the Mickey theme song ramping up for a new episode, we had had enough. My husband went up to the counter to tell her we wanted to pay while I grabbed my purse and stormed out. He was kind and gave her a 10% tip, which was more than she deserved. We have been loyal because it is in our area and the food is good. However, we now understand why this place looks empty night after night. With service and ambiance like that, we will drive further away. This place will be out of business within a year. read more

We went there for the Saturday buffet. The people there were lovely. They asked if we'd been there before, and we said it was our first time, so they walked us through, showed us everything, named each dish, and then left us to fill our plates. The paneer was the absolute best we;ve ever had. It didn't squeak, it wasn't tough, it had a nice flavor. Five stars on the paneer. My companion has a special diet, and was able to eat their fill because there were planty of choices they could eat - the downside for them is how mild all the dishes were. They could eat a full bodied all the heat vindaloo with pleasure. I, on the other hand, appreciated that the food on the buffet was all "white people" spiced. I'm not allergic to peppers. but I am sensitive to them, getting mouth blisters if there are too many chilis or the chilis are too hot. I was pleased to be able to eat more than butter chicken - my fall back mild enough to survive food at Indian restaurants. I did have butter chicken because of habit, but I also has the (chaat patta aloo? potato curry, anyway). Lovely spicing, a smidge on the heated side for me, but not enough to raise blisters, so WIN. I had the chicken biryani and it was the best biryani I have had in OKC. The best. It was flavorful, the rice cooked to utter perfection, the chicken well seasoned, tender, juicy. I went back for a second spoon serving. I had the chickpea curry - I admit mine is better, but only because I put more vegetables in it. It was the best restaurant chickpea curry I've had, so try it. And I had some naan, because of course I needed something to sop up the sauces. I put some watermelon on my plate because watermelon takes the sting out of the chilis better than anything else I've ever tried. I would have settled for raita if the watermelon hadn't been there, but how kind to put some watermelon out for us chilis-intolerant folk. The food was set out in small amounts and was constantly refreshed, which means nothing sat out for hours over the hot trays. It was always fresh from the kitchen. My companion had enough belly space for dessert and raved about the kheer. I didn't have room for dessert, but I'll keep that in mind. They are 45 minutes away, so we won't be back often. But we will make the trip there again, maybe next time we'll order off the menu and not have the buffet. But the buffet was an excellent way to become familiar with their style and dishes, and I recommend it for a first time. read more

Best Indian food we've had so far in the Metro. Every thing is pretty much cooked to order, so there is a wait, which I don't mind if it's fresh. Had the tandoori chicken and butter chicken. Very very tasty!! Our waitress, I forgot her name, was attentive. Very clean dinning room. Couldn't see in the kitchen. I always say, if Indians choose to eat there, it's gotta be good. Looking forward to trying the buffet. Not sure if I'll try the goat (knowingly). We want to try more dishes, like the curry lentils side dish. If I had to find a flaw, it would be the signage and mowing of the grass. Totally superficial, but if you can't do the little things right, you can't do the big things right. We have just stopped in for the first time. We missed the buffet. Though it was fine because the lunch specials were amazing. I fed my entire family of 4 for $50. Well I left a tip as well so it was more, but the food was nearly perfect. Great flavor, in everything we had. I have nothing bad to say. Service was good, food was good, AC worked great. Food, butter naan had very little butter on it, if charging extra for butter naan then it should use lots of butter. Chicken Alfredo was average in taste. Shinwari chicken very hard to eat since it came in a sauce & had a bone in the chicken. Ambiance, odd to have a curtain hiding the cooking area and they slide the good thru it for the server to pick up. Servers are peeking behind it to talk to the cook. I finally got to try this restaurant after a Pakistani Dr I work with recommended this place for me to try. When I came in it was pretty empty. The buffet was about $20. Honestly, I thought the food was ok. Nothing special. Would I come again? Probably not but it was nice to try out once. The puri was way to oily. The naan was not that flavorful. The waitress never checked on us the entire meal. Never refilled our drinks, nothing. I think if this restaurant wants to do well they need to do better in the way of service. The waitresses just sat behind a brick wall hiding from everyone and talking amongst themselves the whole time. I would have loved to give them 3 star but it's hard to overlook some of the major downfalls of this restaurant. read more

Food is the most authentic desi food in okc metro area. Knowing the music we love the ambience. Service is okay. They need proper servers but the food earns them 5 stars . My sons favourite is chicken tikka masala and Lamb Karhai. It's outstanding in taste. read more

Dirty silverware and never brought any replacements during entire meal, very poor service, more bones than meat, all dark meet and very oily. Naan was awesome but very expensive for what you get. We basically paid $40 for naan to dip in oily sauce from our meat dishes. Atmosphere is sadly diminished from when it was Pickles. I love Pakastani food and have eaten a lot of this amazing and flavorful cuisine but this was not a good example of it except for where the naan was concerned. Will not be returning. Avoid. Went to the Buffet on Saturday the 24th. And, Like a previous reviewer pointed out, the Naan was burnt. Saying Sorry means you understand there is a problem and YOU ARE GOING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. IT IS THIS WAY IN AMERICA. I was the fool that paid $25.00 for burnt bread, chicken and rice. Wow, a buffet that eats like a light snack, did I mention the burnt bread, water. Yes, WATER. So much flavor, so many aromas. I've only dined in and would encourage you to do the same. This isn't set up like an American chain restaurant, ready to refill your corn-syrup laden drinks. Come into this dining experience thinking you are going to dinner at a friend's house that is from another culture and offers homemade, exotic food that you can't get on every corner. I have had both the weekday buffet (around $14) and the weekend buffet (around $20). The weekend buffet had twice as many options, but honestly, I preferred the weekday buffet. I wanted to try everything on the weekend buffet, so I had just a little dab of everything and it was tough to really take it all in and appreciate. The weekday buffet has 4 or 5 main dishes with sides to accompany that were all on point. The table service of naan bread was perfect. Use your fingers and naan as much as possible. I went from this type of food...meh, take it or leave it every couple years, to a repeat customer. Sorry in advance if TMI, but this was my first experience with this type of food with so many flavors my body isn't used to and not needing to race home after for some, ummm... private time. We were long-time customers of Pickles when they were in this location. Stopped in today to try Mirchi's Joint. A wise decision. Nice clean restaurant. Pakistani food is the specialty but the owners kept several of Pickle's menu items like breakfast - daily specials. There were also familiar faces among the wait staff. We talked with the new owner - Saad. Very nice friendly person. He told us that most of the Pakistani dishes were large portions and are better served family style so they can be shared. We liked this idea and sampled each other's dishes. One of us had breakfast and one salad and the smash burger - all so delicious. So do yourself a favor and stop in and try this new restaurant. Ask questions about the menu - take their suggestions on what to try and let's make this a great place in Edmond. And - to add to the experience please try their chai tea!! read more

The website looked great with many options, and the restaurant appeared clean. We love ethnic foods, so thought we'd try it. I asked for a Diet Coke and received a warm, bent can with a cup about 1/4 full of ice. I could get past that. There was a child squealing and roaming around the dining area. Harder to get past, but someone finally attended to him. The menu did not include all of the items listed on their website, but okay. There were chopping noises coming from the kitchen and then staff cleaning tables and sweeping floors right next to us, making noises by scooting chairs around. Unpleasant enough, but the deal breaker for me was fighting off the flies. Lots of flies that didn't mind landing on your head. I even tried to keep them away by plugging my little fan into my phone. I can't speak to the food because my appetite was ruined. It might be really good, but I didn't eat one bite. Can't go back. read more

The service was really poor. I never give negative reviews but after waiting for more than 25 minutes and asking for tandoori naan over a over again I have to post this. I understand they might be short on staff in kitchen but that doesn't mean I have to wait for 25 minutes and then consuming cold food with the naan that finally arrived.
