Wish I could give a half star. I got alcohol for myself and was under the limit of what you can purchase and they would not sell it to me. The cashier "required" me to give her the licenses of everyone in the party. What I do with alcohol outside of their doors is non of their business. Such a bad experience. read more

This is a fairly busy Sheetz with a weird setup. I was just driving through when I decided it was snack time and I made my way to the nearest Sheetz I could find. This one is smack dab in the middle of town and consistently busy. For my pit stop here, I decided to really take a rest and my short time here shows how busy this place is. That could be because there really isn't much choice in town for where to grab a quick bite to eat or you can chalked that up to the nearby college. The lot is fairly large, more than enough pumps (large enough for a firetruck to make it's way in and to the pumps). Inside has a small sitting area that reminds you of a lounge type setting for your indoor dining of your MTO. There is also outdoor seating available as well, but obviously in these colder months you should bypass that. Shelves are stocked with your basic finds for a convenience store. Staff are polite and swift. Easy enter and exit for the lot. read more

Easy on/off from 22! Was on our way through and really wanted a little snack to eat. The store is clean, fresh and updated. The restrooms are also clean which is always a plus when traveling. I had a half pretzel veggie packed hoagie, the veggies were fresh, lettuce crisp and they did not skimp on any veggies which was nice. The bun was nicely toasted and it was prepared so nicely! My husband had a half grilled chicken with buffalo sauce, pepper jack cheese and lettuce. His was also just want he wanted while on the road. We shared some tots and they were hot and fresh! I'm happy we stopped for a quick bite! read more

While working in Ebensburg I was horrified to discover there is no Wawa or Dunkin Donuts in town. How am I supposed to function without coffee? Forced to find a new source to provide my morning cup of joe I started looking. The first place that looked promising was Sheetz. From the outside and signage Sheetz looks like a Super Wawa knock-off. Hoping that it was exactly that, I ventured inside. Unfortunately Sheetz let me down. The coffee is nothing special, the breakfast sandwiches are just OK, and the drink selection is pretty basic. Basically Sheetz is a big Seven-Eleven that also sells gas. It's not even in the same league as a Wawa. Damn you fake Wawa for taunting me. read more

This Sheetz is a makeover of the original Sheetz at this location. Sheetz is primarily a food joint with a gas station and convenience grocery attached. There are a handful of tables and booths inside as well as a coffee area of a sofa and chairs. Most of the recently overhauled Sheetz menu is, unfortunately, fried. That said, it's pretty good fried food and leaves our town's only other fast food option (McD's) in the dirt. Food is made fresh, made to order, and served with a friendly attitude. Cashiers are also friendly. Order from touch screen menus, pay, then pick up food and coffees. Waits can be long, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights, but if you want fresh-made food, you must expect to wait. Pre-made options are available, either quite good cold sandwiches 24/7 (which include kid-friendly options and snacks) or hot breakfast sandwiches during the morning rush. The coffee is surprisingly good considering it's not a coffeehouse (and doesn't pretend to be one) but not always made correctly so check your drink before you leave. There's also a self-serve coffee area and Sheetz sells refillable travel mugs. This location also has the "add a flavor" option for fountain drinks. These are ADA accessible, as is the entire store and parking lot. Restrooms are large and kept clean, a vast improvement over the previous building. No car wash with the re-do. No touch-screen order menus at gas pumps. One caveat: Wi-fi is free but if you choose not to use it (and you won't like it b/c it's incredibly slow), 4G/3G is practically blocked inside the store. One bar is standard, zero bars isn't unheard of, two bars and up never happens inside the store. You can get wi-fi at the pumps and parking lot and if you eschew it, there's no block against 4G/3G outdoors. Sheetz is impressive for a gas station, adequate for convenience grocery, adequate (but somewhat pricey, with add-on options that cost extra) for fast food. Given that there are so few options in the area and that Sheetz has a consistent quality, it's an excellent option for a quick bite. read more

We stopped through early on Sunday morning for a potty break and some breakfast en route to Pittsburgh. We caught them at a time when they were trying to restock their donuts and other breakfast pastries, yet when a whole lot of us wanted them. Despite this, the staff was clearly working hard to get people in and out (and I got my donuts!). Also, for an older Sheetz, the bathrooms here were in great shape. read more

Sheetz in Cresson is clean, modern, and well stocked. All their MTO food is great, and never over cooked. The staff is kind, quick, and care about customer service. Sometimes they're a little behind on cleaning the bathrooms, but 99% of the time they're sparkling clean. Big plus is they have Cheerwine soda on tap, which is really hard to find north of Virginia. I frequent the place, and I love it. Great rewards program also. read more
