I've been in the Automotive business for about 35 years I've worked for both Ford and General Motors. I've worked in some of the largest dealerships in the United States. I've consulted many dealers techniques to enhance their sales and teach their service advisors proper ethics as to relate to customers and be honest with selling services that are only needed to their vehicle. Recently I was driving home and a deer jumped from a wooded area striking my car, causing considerable damage. I contacted Ron Perretta at Professional Auto Body in Duncansville PA to have my repairs done in his shop. I live in Pittsburgh and people have ask me why I didn't just go closer to my home. I've pondered this question and now that my car is properly repaired have the answer. Professional Auto Body came to my home in Pittsburgh to pick up my car, I know from reviews and word of mouth I chose the right establishment to perform the necessary repairs because I was confident the repairs would be done properly. Now just allow me to share some facts that prompted me to write this rather lengthy review; 1. Throughout the entire repair process I was informed with progress reports either daily or eod. 2. I knew the integrity of the man behind the scene. 3. I watch the videos Ron does on post repairs from other facilities and his willingness to fight insurance companies for your right to a proper repair. 4. The ratings from past customers. I'm glad I chose Professional Autobody because of the many dealerships I've been to can not hold a candle to the level of customer satisfaction I received at Professional Autobody. Ron has done an excellent job working with his team of employees that assure you of an upmost level of reassuring that customer satisfaction is of the highest priority. My vehicle looks like it's brand new again. The bodymen, the painters, the foreman, and Dawn have exceeded my expectations of what I had visions of a long distance nightmare. I just can't thank Ron Peretta and his wonderful team enough for removing any anxiety, fear,nervousness, and frustration from my mind during this repair process. Repair accident damage. I drive to the hop in Duncansville. Received with a positive attitude. Viewed damage the next day. Gross damage estimated cost of repairs. Accepted my insurance deductible. The specific damage was clearly displayed to me. They contacted my insurance company and their estimate was easily accepted. Excellent service was provided in a timely manner & I was regularly advices of progress and of anticipated date for completion. Received a date for polishing whole vehicle to match original condition the instructions for caring for the results & winterization. My car bumper was dented while parked in front of my house. The repair facility said the needed to disassemble the bumper to assess the damage and for the insurance adjuster. The repair facility had their estimate $1700 more than the insurance estimate which I was told I had to pay. I told them to put the vehicle back together and I would get my vehicle back. They told me I would owe them the labor for the estimate inspection (around $1600). The are holding my vehicle hostage. read more

Rip off. Took our car there to have a dent in the hood fixed with insurance. Insurance company looked at it and called us with a quote. We called Professionals back and asked if we could take it somewhere else due to their quote was double what the insurance company was paying. They said the car was in pieces and we couldn't pick it up now. And if we did want to pick it up we had to pay them labor charges. (There was a dent in our hood and they removed the insulation from it). We left the car there and told the insurance company to give them the check to fix it so we wouldn't have to pay the labor charges to Professionals. A week later our insurance company called us back and told us our car has not been touched since last time he was there. My wife went in to pickup the car and the manager said we never signed anything or told them to start working on it and to order the parts. Manager said the women wrote down she called us, but we have no voicemail or missed calls from them. The manager basically said she was lying as she turned her phone log around to show him. Long story short, after the manger complained to my wife and complained about the insurance company handed us the $380 BILL for removing the hood insulation and putting it back in. Our insurance company covered the cost from Professionals as they also added that cost to the insurance company's estimate. Took our car to another shop and had it fixed in 3 days. If you take your car in, there is free estimates, but if its damaged and dropped off, you will pay them or the insurance company will pay their fee. This is what happened to us and we will not set foot back in their shop again. read more

Let me start by saying that our vehicle was repaired adequately and in a timely manner. With that said, I have nothing else positive to say about Professionals Auto Body (PAB). Before you consider using PAB check out their insurance ranking chart on their website. According to them there are only 3 insurance companies (Cincinnati, Erie, and Geico) that rate above poor or terrible out of thirty companies. This is solely because these companies don't require the use of an independent appraiser and thereby won't contest PAB's estimate. Let's get a few things straight before the owners respond to this post in a similar manner to others that provided negative feedback. First, I've had multiple vehicles repaired satisfactorily at several body shops with my current and previous insurance companies and never had to pay anything out of pocket other than the deductible. Second, my wife hit a deer on her way home from work on 11/14/21. She was not drinking so please don't infer she has a problem. Third, I've attached correspondence so PAB cannot claim I wasn't a customer, didn't pay my bill, or that they have no record of this repair, as they've done to other customers previously. What to expect, let's start with their commercials, this is where the conditioning begins. In a nutshell, the narrative is all insurance companies are evil and any subsequent issues you have are due to those evil insurance companies. You'll be provided a tour of the facilities, they'll explain they're disassembling your vehicle to ensure all damages are captured, and reiterate that your insurance company is no good. This is the carrot, then comes the estimate, followed by the stick. Expect a very high estimate, primarily due to labor rates. Now you're responsible for the difference in addition to your deductible even though it's listed as waived ($4,471.55 in our case). Next, you'll discover that your vehicle in a thousand pieces in the back lot. You'll then be told you're free to take your vehicle to another body shop as soon as you pay to have it reassembled and cover the lot storage fees. Time to make a choice, pay the difference and chalk this one up to a loss or dump another $175 dollars down to initiate a demand for appraisal. In short, the insurance company hires an independent appraiser as well as the body shop and both parties try to reconcile the difference. If they are unable to reconcile the difference the decision goes to a referee. Luckily the referee ruled in our favor, and we were notified the first week of April 2022 that we would be receiving a check in the amount of $3,895.85. Shortly thereafter, I was contacted by PAB and notified that they had made "concessions" in the amount of $980 on the initial estimate. They stated that they would like $500 of those concessions back and acted as though they were cutting me a deal. They requested that I have the insurance check sent there or bring it to them and they would cut me a new check minus $500 to compensate them for their concessions. I spent the following day going over the referee's decision, what I had already paid, and if I still owed them anything. After a day of number crunching, it turned out that I owed them $424.30. I made copies of the insurance checks, wrote them another check for the remaining balance and dropped it off on 4/22/22. To be honest, I'm no fan of insurance companies, but I have friends who work for two separate insurance companies and when I told them of my woes with PAB, they laughed and told me this was typical. Again, I'm not saying your automobile won't be repaired satisfactorily by PAB. I'm not saying it won't be repaired in a timely manner. What I am saying is that they will make every attempt to milk the insurance company and you'll be stuck in the middle. You can play this game and if you're lucky many months later you may recoup your money, or you could make the smart move and WALK AWAY NOW! read more
