Gas was $3.21 a gallon. Shell is the gasoline provider. Upside had an offer for $0.07 cash back. Since I used my $0.05 cent off Shell fuel rewards points, I'll only get $0.02 cent cash back per gallon. I used my card and paid at the pump. While pumping, I noticed that pump #2 is "The Giving Pump" where they give back to Big Brothers Big Sisters when people use that pump. I'm a volunteer with the agency. Had I noticed that before I started pumping, I definitely would've used that pump instead. I ended up pumping a little over 12 gallons. I had no issues during visit and I didn't go inside.

While my attention was divided, unauthorized money was sent from my phone through my banking app/Zelle. The scam also involved a "Three Card Monte" style game where they encourage you to pick a card and claim they will double your money if you guess correctly. I did not participate in the game or allow them to give money to my child. After everything happened, I was informed this reportedly occurred multiple times today at Sheetz.Approaching women with children to play. Giving the children dollars What was especially alarming is that after the incident at Sheetz, the same group appeared to move to the TJ Maxx parking lot area and continued targeting other women. While there, another woman came up screaming and stated they had stolen $1,800 from her the week before. One individual was a Black male with dreads wearing multiple chains/jewelry. Another was a light-skinned male wearing a yellow worker-style safety vest. There was also a Caucasian male wearing blue shorts. Female Mexican skinny dark hair . They were seen leaving in a black sedan and a white van with the license plate WAH-- 1753 or 1810 The phone numbers used during the interaction were 336-925-3422 and 336-471-2370. They also appeared to spread themselves throughout the gas station near pumps 4-9 and pump 6. For confidential reasons, I cannot disclose all specifics involving my minor child, but I will say children were present during this interaction, which made the situation even more concerning. I truly tried to do the right thing by helping someone I believed was in need of emergency assistance, and this situation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Please do NOT hand strangers your unlocked phone, even if the story sounds urgent or believable. This was my fault . I also reported this to law enforcement, and I was informed this type of tactic is commonly associated with gambling/distraction scams. Also, to the woman who was screaming, recording, and saying she had also been scammed -- if you happen to be in this group, thank you so much for helping by recording and for calling the police. Shoutout to the Sheetz managers and TJ Maxx staff as well. Unfortunately Sheetz did not have security on duty during the daytime . Please stay alert, ladies, and keep your children close. The owner has temperature controlled freezer's, and about fifty different micro brews available like he's situated in bustling Times Square. It's pretty sweet. I was looking at one end of the store at all the beers, and he enthusiastically pointed to the other side and said "look behind the chips, look behind the chips." He grabbed my hand and actually held it as he led me to this sacred area behind the chips. Sure enough there were ten more micro brews. This place is awesome. It's very progressive for this area, and can give any small mart in the country a run for it's money with it's variety of beers. The owner is a really nice guy and seems very committed to making sure you are happy, which let's face it, is a pretty rare gesture in this day and age. I can't count on the tea to be filled and available whenever I go in, and I don't really get much food there anymore, so without being able to get a drink in the morning every time, it kind of makes me stopping pointless. Usually, it is there, but I would say once every couple of weeks I will walk in and the urns are empty, waiting to be serviced (like they have been noticed, but tea is not being brewed). It's frustrating when the brewed tea isn't available, because bottled drinks are so packed with sugar. I like to put just a small amount of sweet tea in a mostly unsweet cup. I do like that they have the powdered lemon available. Generally... they could probably do better here. It is a pretty busy location, so I feel like investing in more staff if needed would be worth it.

There's a ton of pumps so you can almost always find a slot, and one of the best things is the air pump is free, so you can easily top of your tires with that fresh Canadian air they bring in for your winter driving.
