They have quality outdoor goods and camping/hiking supplies, as well as fun little trinkets and gag gifts that'll give anyone a good laugh. They had a very wide variety of locally made goods as well including candles, jewelry, pottery, and other housewares. All were well made and beautiful pieces that were unique to the area. There is also an ice cream case, a variety of classic sodas and other small snack items. The employees were very friendly, too. If I'm ever near Shelby again, I will definitely stop by!

I like walking around once in awhile but it is almost not worth going here anymore. Not many stores that interest me anymore. They have a subway, chili fila and a Chinese place. Not sure if any other places but very limited not a good court like other malls. There is a pretty big shoe store. My favorite place is Marshalls & bath and body works. Outside there is a AMC movie theater & dollar tree not inside the mall. Unless you have a specific store to go to it's really not worth walking around inside anymore. It's a shame. Malls will be a thing of the past eventually people are shopping on line instead. I personally like walking around and seeing the item before I buy. I hope they can get some new places in to open up soon.

After walking around the store we did a short self-guided tour of the farm, I don't know where all the goats were hiding but they do have a small tractor pulling a number of carts for little kids. They also have a pretty cool gem mining operation. It's worth the stop if you driving across Highway 64 there's a large elevated water tank marking the one lane entrance so it's hard to miss. It's kinda funny, you can once again buy candy cigarettes that once were pulled from the market because someone thought they promoted smoking to kids now it's nostalgic...

The shop is in the basement of her home in Forest City and is jam packed FULL of great fabrics, books, notions, quilty gadgets, rulers, samples, examples, tools, patterns and more. If you can't find it at Schoolhouse, it hasn't been made! She appears in regional quilt shows with her wide array of products and she will ship if you need to call and order. The shop is spacious with rooms of fabrics and goodies throughout. The staff is so enjoyable and welcoming. This is the kind of place that is great to check out if you're on a book adventure. The shelves are completely crammed with books, along with stacks of books pretty much everywhere. The books are sectioned out, and the books on the shelves appear to be in some sort of alphabetical order. However, when it comes to the stacks of books, this is where the organization ends. Most of these books are not even facing the same direction. The shelves are really crammed tightly together. There was a whole section of the store I had no idea how to even get to. That being said, their prices are very reasonable, with a lot of books for less than $4 (at least the paperbacks). I think this place is cash only, but I couldn't tell. The staff was nice as well. If you have a little extra time and don't mind putting in some effort to find a gem or two, this place is definitely worth checking out.

That is what I believe gives it its unique brown coloring. He makes everything from lamps, candle holders, sundials, praying hands, even a cool indoor water fountain. Tom is one of the most friendliest guys you will ever meet. I never miss the opportunity to stop in and chat. He is very involved with the local business community. I now have three beautiful pieces and am looking to add more to my collection. He shares his cozy shop with other local artists and this is a must stop and check out the art and strike up a conversation with Tom. You will not be disappointed.
