It's a shame to go to a mall and have so many empty stores. Definitely doesn't have that mall feel anymore. It's a ghost town too, not many people walking around. I like walking around once in awhile but it is almost not worth going here anymore. Not many stores that interest me anymore. They have a subway, chili fila and a Chinese place. Not sure if any other places but very limited not a good court like other malls. There is a pretty big shoe store. My favorite place is Marshalls & bath and body works. Outside there is a AMC movie theater & dollar tree not inside the mall. Unless you have a specific store to go to it's really not worth walking around inside anymore. It's a shame. Malls will be a thing of the past eventually people are shopping on line instead. I personally like walking around and seeing the item before I buy. I hope they can get some new places in to open up soon. read more

My goodness this mall has been around forever. Like other malls in America it doesn't have the business it used to and it's just not as busy. I do enjoy the fact that the design on all the walls showcase the history of Cleveland county. I always find it interesting and I can't help myself but stare everytime I visit. There is a Chick-fil-a inside, so be warned when you first enter it smells absolutely delicious. read more

Cleveland Mall 2001-53 E Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152 Malls in America seem to be a dying a slow death countrywide. That said, I am So Proud of our little local mall. Drive into Gastonia's Eastland Mall, or most Bigger malls in the country. (Those still open that is) due to bad parking lots,darkened store windows, or worse, stacked empty shelves or excess storage of other struggling stores visible through dusty smudged and darkened display windows. They all seem so "Depressed" ! Then revisit our well maintained, brightly lit clean carpeted little mall. Though not always this way, once it was as bad, or worse than others. Now, it's vacant spaces are walled in so well, that one walking through the mall honestly could not tell the original structural walls from the faux. All the walls are clean & bright; bearing historically relevant photographic town images upon them. Some bearing dates and information, some with inspirational quotes, or both. Personally, I believe that someday the malls will return. Who wants to walk in blistering heat or freezing stinging sleet to go from store to store? The concept of having all the stores and related merchandise one may want or need in one climate controlled environment is pure gold. Within Reason that is ! When "Too Big", they are too hard to properly maintain or police. Our little mall could very well be a model for the perfect sized mall in the future. As more and more people do "online shopping", more and more become disillusioned and dissatisfied with repacking, reshipping & complicated refund processes, and often No Refund at all. Where stores come to die...Just kidding but only partly. This mall has been through many changes and phases. Some of the anchors have left/closed up shop, most notably and recently, Sears. Currently Marshalls, Belks and Burke Outlets anchor the mall. Used to be a nice Hallmark store here too. Bath and Body Works, Rue 21, Chick Fil A, Shoe Dept and some others are still around. There's a nice Cinemark Multiplex right outside and multiple decent chain restaurants sprinkled through the parking lot. It does look like something may be going in where Sears was but there haven't been any announcements yet. read more
