Legendary Brotein Shelby's Wrap. Beef & Lamb Shawarma.

They know what they are doing with this one. I am impressed by many of Shelby's offerings. It begins right at the door. You are given a good impression by the nice branding and design of the place's signage, wallpaper, etc. Everything is professionally done. The place looks very well maintained and stylish. Careful thought was given to portray a certain modern vibe. Even the order receipt has a short write-up about ketchup that is easy to miss for those who are not paying attention. Service was also good. The person taking my order was very patient and polite in waiting for my order. Employee training is not lacking at all. The food was equally amazing. Their shawarma comes in Shelby's branded carton packaging. There is an easy to open pulltab that makes eating the shawarma easy and not messy. And, they do not even have to, but there is a wet napkin provided for the customer to clean up after. The shawarma is stuffed, and the meat with sauce is savory. Overall, I am extremely impressed. I would not think twice about recommending this shawama place.

    Nice touch.

We ordered the beef and lamb shawarma bowl with spicy garlic sauce on rice and Shelby's salad. This bowl was super tasty. The spicy garlic and hot sauce hit just right. They did not skimp on the beef and lamb shawarma either. And the rice was very tasty. There were crunchy pita chips as well adding flavour and texture to the salad mix. And of course super creamy hummus and tahini to top everything off. The bowl is quite filling.

HUGE shawarma for a really good price! This place has really interesting fusion options, like mac & cheese shawarma. Loved the bacon halloumi shawarma. Great garlicky sauce (definitely not a dry wrap), lots of protein (I got chicken, which was super flavorful), and nice addition of crispy fries too. I wish there was more halloumi though! It felt like the whole wrap had 2 small pieces total. The wrap itself is also super yummy -- really thin and light. It's a huge portion so super filling and satisfying! Also love how customizable it is. Service at this location is self order on a kiosk, and food does take a bit of time to come out. Staff are friendly. Very limited seating inside but it's super clean.

Overall, I felt that this place is lacking a bit of service in terms of customer attentiveness. The decor that's going for what I feel is a more modern minimalistic vibe. The shawarma wrap that I got was great!

This Shawarma chain is such a hit on social media that I actually heard of it via someone abroad, who urged me to try it. Their advertising is pretty funny, but their menu is also creative, with some fusion dishes. And the shawarma is pretty good, too. Traditional wrap with beef & lamb was pretty good. The packaging of the wrap was good: slick yet practical - definitely a cut above that of other shawarma places. There was a lot of meat which tasted decent & it had a nice torched exterior. Legendary bowl with chicken on fattoush salad & fried cauliflower was good. The fried cauliflower & fattoush salad were both pretty good, though I had to top up for the former. The chicken was decent & there was a lot of it. The turnip (free add on) was decent (pretty standard) & the garlic sauce was potent. Both chicken & beef and lamb were cut thicker & were higher quality meat than that at other shawarma places. Also tried the churros. Those weren't so good - they were very chewy & had a flavour less rich than that of regular churros. Stick to the Spanish/Mexican version.

I won't call it one of the best but it's really good. The prices are bit higher compared to average middle eastern restaurants serving shawarmas. Flavors are really good and they make fresh bread which is a big one. We try to go there once on every trip to canada.

On a recent trip to Canada, after hearing all the social media buzz about Shelby's Shawarma, we decided to check it out--and it did not disappoint! My son and I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap, while my wife went for the chicken shawarma bowl. Both were fantastic--juicy, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. Every bite was packed with delicious spices and tenderness. The food definitely lives up to the hype! What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality. I had a quick chat with the store manager, Anjith, and when he found out we had traveled from the US and were first-time visitors, he surprised my son with a freshly made churro on the house. It was a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made us feel so welcome. Shelby's is definitely on our list for a return visit, and we can't wait to explore more of their outlets in the future. If you're in Canada, Shelby's is a must-try!

Went to the Shelby off of Lawrence Ave E. It was great. Had the Brotien Shawwarma and chicken boutine. Also had a bebsi, can't forget about the bebsi. Staff was friendly and nice. Area looked a little sketchy but safe enough.

Good Shawarma, full of meat, crispy. Came in a well organized box which you can eat out of.

We made the wrong order. Nischal, one of the servers, was kind enough to change our order. The food is pretty good.

I forgot to…read moretake a picture of the foie gras, but it was incredibly rich and flavorful, and the grilled pineapple helped cut through the richness. The grilled fish is a must-order at almost every table; it had no fishy taste at all and was delicious. The steak was Jacob's dry-aged steak; you can't go wrong with their steaks.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures

There's always something going on in the area, so it makes it a lively place to grab food, especially at night. I went around 10 PM last night and it was packed. The ambience is pretty basic, it's a small joint with a few tables and chairs, nothing fancy. It's clean and organized, but you can't really expect some super aesthetic interior considering the location and the constant flow of people. There's limited seating, just enough for a few groups, so it definitely feels more like a takeout spot than somewhere you'd sit and hang out for a long time. They get a lot of customers, so you can expect a bit of a wait, but honestly the service was impressively fast. We waited maybe 5-10 minutes max for our food. We got it to go, and everything was ready quickly and handled efficiently. The main star of the show was the chicken shawarma wrap. It was delicious, crispy, flavourful, and packed with everything we asked for. The sauce was so good and really brought everything together. I definitely recommend adding the pomegranate molasses. It adds such a nice sweet tangy flavour and makes the wrap even better. Overall, it was a really good experience. Fast service, solid food, and a fun location right in the middle of the action. I'd definitely go back.

We had done a ton of walking and wanted a snack and a drink with a chance to rest the feet. One of the people we spoke to up the street claimed to love the place so here we are. The shawarma meat is bland and a bit boring. We tried to punch it up when we got it, but it's not the same. Don't get me wrong, it's still good food and will fill that empty spot in yer gut. I was just hoping for a juicier sandwich, instead we end up on the dry side. The cost is reasonable. The servers we spoke with were okay. Nothing exciting. In comparison to all our other meals this place fails. It's decent food at a decent price that deserves your attention. Especially if you're looking for a quick fix on the run. 11/25
