Many local businesses commissioned a IG or selfie worthy scarecrows. Some are humbly done and others are more ornate, much like the ice festivals. There's always much family, fun & food at the Fall Festival. There are some fun craft and artist booths to browse through too. Each year we say "goodbye" to some favorites and we welcome some new artists as well. On Sunday we returned for the amazing annual Rotary club chicken Dinner! We got chicken, corn on cob & potato chips & a cookie. The chicken is always awesome & tasty! We love this annual event, along with the great people watching! The bands this year were exceptional and people were even dancing with their dogs! I should have gotten a video because it was so much fun to see this one guy dancing on the lawn with his Great Dane! We saw that man who dresses up like Abraham Lincoln too! The weather was great and a great time was had by all! Thank you to the city of Plymouth for having these great functions & getting families to make memories together. See you next year!!

This year, the highs will reach 40. Having said that, this a magical festival based on absolutely beautiful, if transitory, works of art. My husband and I live just down the street, and it is worth it for us to go every year.

Because of Covid, the ice…read moresculptures were spread throughout downtown Plymouth which I think is a good idea to also entice people to visit businesses along different streets. The ice sculptures were impressive. I'd like to see the number of statues increase in the future. February is one of my least favorite months because it's cold and there aren't a lot of outdoor activities. The ice festival was fun and encouraged me to go to Plymouth twice to take a walk around town to see the ice sculptures. I'd like to see more winter events like the ice festival that bring people together and have a positive impact on local businesses. I stopped by Max and Bella's Smokehouse for the first time to get dinner while I was at the ice festival. I recommend eating here for a quick take-out plate. I thought there would be a long wait but the business was prepared to serve quick and hearty meals. There were also food trucks and food vendors next to Kellogg Park. Don't expect an internationally renowned ice festival like the one in Harbin, China, but this is a decent festival for a small city and worth seeing.

Inside, you'll find 16 life-sized metal sculptures by the artist, John Payne of Asheville, North Carolina. Walking in will excite your senses with sculptures that move, sound effect buttons, and dazzling lighting. It's a feast for the senses. You can use levers and pulleys to bring these ancient beasts to life. Unfortunately, words only can say so much when it comes to a visual event, so I've posted a small number of pictures to give you a better understanding of how amazing this experience truly is. 5 stars! Go there and be amazed.
