Booked a message since I had a long wait at the airport. i booked for an hour. The therapist came and got me at 5 min after the hour. By the time she came back in the room to start it was 9 min after. She ended the message at 12:48. Inwas dressed and out the door by 12:54- no one even asked how it was for me to say I was disappointed about being shorted what I paid for. The message was mediocre. I did say I did not want very hard pressure but too much of her just laying her hands down and pushing straight down. I would say a good 20 minutes was spent on my hands and forearms. would have preferred that much time spent on my back which she probably took 5 mminutes on and it was a lot of just pressing straight down- not sure what kind of message that is . The best thing you can do is visit Shell Chiropractic if you work in downtown Phoenix. Very convenient and you will get the care that you need. I have been going here for 10+ years. They used to be in Jefferson St when I first walked in for a lower back issue. The pain level was 8 or 9. After the visit, pain level was down to 1-2. My first review has to go to this place! I think I have seen pretty much every Chiropractor and Massage Therapist at this office and I have never had a bad experience. I somehow messed up a shoulder and was in a lot of pain when I would use that arm so I thought I would try a chiropractor and massage therapy to heal it. And it is 90% better. No joke! My favorite Massage Therapist is Gina, she is super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The two women Chiropractors are so nice. Their names are the easiest to remember, sorry! They have given me a ton of helpful information regarding my injury, as well as gone beyond to help me with a past injury on my knee, like going on Amazon and helping me find a good knee brace. I cannot recommend Shell Chiropractic enough! My daughter is a ballerina with chronic hip and back problems. I have never had a paid massage before, so after a referral I came in to Shell and haven't left since. A visit to Shell is the highlight of my day and week. I'd come in more if I had more free time. The fact they pay for parking( which downtown is no laughing matter) is just a bonus. I've also been to 3 therapists and they have all been very accommodating and always ask if there are any special accommodations, injuries, or trouble spots they should focus on or stay away from. This facility is operating under three different names that I know of: The Art of Touch, Shell Chiropractic, and Shell Massage Company. A friend of mine gave me a Living Social certificate for a massage at The Art of Touch. But when I tried to look this name up, there were no hits. I was worried that this might be some weird guy working out of his garage but when I called to make the appointment, I was told by the receptionist that the office is called Shell Chiropractic. Making an appointment was simple, as was locating the facility and parking in the lot adjacent to the building downtown. A small reception area has the look and feel of a waxing salon. This is not a day spa - there are no showers, robes, nor slippers. At my appointment time I was led down a small hallway into a room with a massage table, low lighting, and soothing music, just like you would find in a high-end place. My massage itself was nothing to write home about. In fact, I think a newbie was working on me, so we'll just leave it at that as everyone starts somewhere, right? But when it was all over, she handed me a postcard-sized coupon for a discounted follow-up massage provided by "Shell Massage Company." Same address, same phone number. I mean, really: what's with all the names? Either your business is legitimate, or it isn't. Pick what you want to call your space and stick with it so you don't confuse your customers. read more

I recently introduced my boyfriend to the Weekly Plus website. He received a deal for a 60 minute chiropractic massage at a great rate. He bought one for himself and for me. When my plans were canceled today, I decided to call and see if Shell had any appointment openings today so I could use my certificate. The lady on the phone was very nice and was able to get me in just 2 hours later...which was great for his girl who hates waiting when I have it in my head that I want to do something! Shell is located in downtown Phoenix on Adams, across from the Orpheum Theater. It was very easy to find. There were metered parking spots in front of the lot and a $8 parking lot right next door. I opted to walk a bit and went to the parking garage a couple blocks away and paid $4 for an hour and a half. When I arrived inside, the lady was welcoming and friendly and promptly got me set up on my new patient paperwork. The lobby was small but had a cute modern look to it. My masseuse came out within 5 minutes to get me. He did a great job but my massage was not very relaxing. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it because I was not sure the difference between a chiropractic massage and just a regular massage. I often had to remind my therapist of the pressure I liked and I felt like I was being jerked around a lot. I did, however, feel more loose when it was complete. So, although my massage was not as relaxing as I was hoping it would be, my body felt a little better after wards. Although the staff was friendly and my massage was ok, nothing special stood out to me about this place that would have me traveling 20 miles from my house to go back. I will stick with the places locally until I find another that someone reccommends! read more

Dr. Rogen is fantastic. I've been dealing with back issues for the past 18 months. Went to two different chiro's ... problems were always back within a week. After a couple of visits to Dr. Rogen - life is much better! The one thing that really stands out here are the excellent massage therapists. After getting adjusted, most chiropractors put people on roller beds or eletro-stim treatments. This place has real massage therapists! I just moved to Arizona from the Midwest. I have been in physical therapy and chiropractic treatment for several years due to scoliosis. I had been searching the PHX area for a Chiro office that offered follow up treatment like PT or Massage in addition to taking insurance (so I could use my healthcare funds). I was having so much trouble finding a location that took insurance. Once I did, it was the day before I was leaving for a 4 day vacation. My arm and hand were beginning to bother me due to my back troubles and I refused to sit on a plane for hours in pain and travel in pain. I needed to find a chiro STAT! and one that would see a new patient last minute. I called about 12 different drs offices over the course of 2 hours and had zero luck. They either didn't offer follow up treatment, didn't take insurance, or weren't even open............on a Thursday afternoon. WEIRD! Anyway, I found Shell on google made an appointment and they said "come on in.........we'll see you in 30 mins". I sped over there, waited about 10 mins in the lobby (filled the time w/ paperwork) and was seen by the Dr. I was aligned and received a 30 min massage (which is part of the visit) and I left so relaxed. Corrin was my massage therapist and used the right amount of pressure for my poor tense muscles. She focused on the areas I told her needed the most work which showed me that she pays attention to her patients. The price point was great, the alignment was a god send and a vacation saver, and the massage was a nice added touch! So much so I just made my 2nd appointment w/ Shell. Such a relief when you are new to an area and find a Dr that is exceptional in addition to being dependable. read more

Never had a massage before and was recommended to go here by a close friend. All I can say is I will never go anywhere else. I was met with a smile and warm greeting that instantly made me glad I choose this place. The staff was extremely polite and the massage was fantastic. I left there feeling relaxed and refreshed. Wonderful for Chiro or for massage. I've had appointments with Jason and Jess, they are great massage treatment providers. Such a stress free office to work with if you get regular chiropractic treatments and/or massages. Dr. Barb is so easy to talk to and professional. No danger of running up a bill like some offices- I went to two appointments, felt much better, and she said that that was all the treatment I needed for the time being. I've been back every few months since, whenever work exacerbates the injury, and it always works out great for me. I am an ICU nurse and have been coming to Shell for about 2 years. They have always had the best therapists and Dr Barb has always been so friendly. But it was really when I became pregnant that their service blew me away. Corrin gives the most amazing pregnancy massages and Dr Barb was sure to be gentle, yet effective, with her adjustments. They really made my pregnancy so much more enjoyable and relieved all my aches and pains. After I gave birth I returned and these guys even got me a baby gift. I have been going to Shell Chiropractic for about a year now. I love it! The staff is always friendly. The massage therapists are AMAZING! I prefer to get massaged first, then adjusted after when I am more loose. On most days, you can call and find an opening to squeeze in during some free time. I also like that I receive text messages from them letting me know of cancellations or openings on the day of. That way, I can try to see what openings or cancellations I had and run over there.
