Don't go here if you are looking to buy propane. When the two Hispanic females are the only ones on duty they always claim the propane tank is out. But the propane tank is not out, they are either too lazy or don't know how to fill propane. I'm not talking about night time, I mean in the middle of the afternoon. And it's only a problem when the two Hispanic females are the only ones on duty. Also their gasoline prices are obscene relative to Costco or Great Gas on Forest Ave in PG. read more

Their gas prices are pretty high, but their convenient store prices are reasonable. This why I took one star and then give back to them. I have to be honest here, I live in this area and the people in the store are more than nice to me. I had my coffee once their and I bought some candies, and Ice cream for my children. Same gas price as the Chevron station across the street. Same price whether you pay by cash or card. That's good cause many gas stations charge extra for using your card. Had soapy water with the squeege for cleaning the windows. Works for me. Expected them to be cheaper than Chevron though because the Chevron is located right on the corner of Rio Dr. and Highway 1. I am reticent to assign one star and only reserve application of such status to a business or service that really deserves it. Yesterday afternoon I attempted to purchase gas at the pump with my credit card. For some reason I was prompted to see the cashier. I decided to only purchase $30 and fill up at a discount station later. At $28.30 cents gas stopped exiting the nozzle but the pump register kept turning. I removed the nozzle from the tank opening and pressed the trigger and sure enough nothing was coming out. How many people has Shell bamboozled with this trick? I could have sucked it up and drove off but this was too blatant. The cashier listened to my issue and pushed me off to the manager who was in his office and could hear everything I told the cashier. He never looked up and did not seem surprised by my issue. He calculated I was owed $1.21 though it was closer to $1.70 but he was determined to win the volley. He asked how I knew no gas was coming out and I told him again. He (still never looking up at me) admonished me, no, more like scolded me not to turn on the nozzle like that again? What? I understand about safety and gasoline, as a firefighter I was trained --- but I sense his scolding had more to do with being called out for the ripoff. Let's play this out. 20 customers prepay a day and the pump quits a half gallon short on each transaction. That's 10 gallons that is still in the inventory that has already been paid for. Whose gas tank does this excess gasoline benefit? Shell Gas on Rio Road in Carmel is on the avoid list for my two autos. read more
