Just to update the reason for my 1-star review, a few years ago this Shell installed a new car wash from Loop Neighborhood, a dishonest company in the East Bay (or possibly India) with a dysfunctional phone app. I ordered a couple car washes that didn't work at all when I arrived in person -- scanning the QR code did nothing, and the orders didn't generate any wash codes within the app. I called Loop customer service (they never answer the phone) and left a message, which went unanswered. I then wrote a message that went unanswered as well. I ended up having to call my credit card company to force a refund out of them, which worked. But it shouldn't have come to that. I'm sharing the blame with Shell because they partnered up with these crooks on purpose (throughout several Bay Area stations), and because their customer service was equally unresponsive. read more

I am in a wheelchair and although I tried, I could not pump my gas, due to the concrete platform the pumps sat on. I went to the cashier and explained and she gladly came out and pumped for me. read more

Noehmi was so rude and condescending I asked her to turn on the air then Let her know it wasn't on. She was more interested in her clip board than helping me. She rudely told me " i told you to push the button " ( which she didn't) and I said can you please show me. She then walked over and pointed it out the sticker that was 70% gone. & said" see I told you" I'm so sorry for inconveniencing you to do your job. read more

You take away the convenience of its location and the fact that it has a car wash and you don't have much else....... This particular Shell location is a strictly self serve affair. It has a modicum of cold drinks etc, but aside from the pay window that's about it. Why didn't I hang the ubiquitous 3 Star on them? 1) Window washer fluid is consistently dirty and many of the squeegees have seen better days. Seriously my windows may actually be MORE dirty than when I started 2) The car wash station is so high up that even in our SUV I still have to open the door to put in the numbers and I'm 6'1" But they have a good location so I still stop buy if I need my car washed. read more

Auto-shutoff failed. I filled up at this station and was still squeezing the pump handle when gas started squirting all over me. I ended up heavily splashed with gas and my tank was overflowing onto the ground. Told the attendant that something was wrong with the pump and she said it was my fault because I hadn't pulled up far enough. read more

Stopped by for gas the other day as according to Gas Buddy, this was the cheapest gas station on my way to work! The gas station is a little hard to get to as it's not near the 101. The gas station was in okay shape. My pump did shut off numerous times before being able to fill up my tank completely. Paper towels and squeegees were available. The squeegee was in working water and there was water available to wash my windows! Tip: Get a Fuel Rewards Card that gets you 3 cents off per gallon after every visit. You may also get other promotions such as fill up 4 times within 30 days to get 10 cents off per gallon your next visit! read more

I needed to go to the bathroom only to be yelled at by the attendant that they don't have any and told me to go to one of the fast food restaurant nearby to use their bathroom. I paid for a car wash then after decided to fill my tank. Pump shut off mid way, and when I went to ask the attendant who was coming outside. His response.... "Yeah pumps off, I'm closing." Like wtf? At 5:00 pm today, my fiance and I went to the Americana Shell (ATM) location on 110 N Rengstorff Ave in Mountain View, intending to get a car wash and then a fillup of gasoline. We went to the car wash, but realized we did not have exact change for the machine. I approached the register, and the cashier provided me with change so I could purchase the car wash. I then asked how we could get the discounted price for our gasoline after the car wash. He told me we just had to select that option on the pump, and it would be about $0.15 less per gallon. We paid for and went through the car wash, then, with our car still wet, went to the pump. To our dismay, there was no option for those whom had purchased a car wash. I went to the register to inquire further, and the man who had helped me before told me he didn't know how to work the register and couldn't help us. He then informed us that it seemed as if we had to buy the gas then the car wash. The manager came over and told us that indeed, this was the only way to get the discounted gas price. I asked if he would be willing to refund us the money already spent on the car wash, and we would simply purchase another when we went to get our gas. He told me no, that he couldn't do that. We already used our car wash and he told me we shouldn't have done so if we didn't understand the deal. I told him that this clause is not posted anywhere, at all. It feels like false advertising to say that the gas price is "x amount with a car wash," but then to refuse this deal to customers who have already put down the money for the car wash (mere moments before!) He told me "You should have asked." First of all, this should not be my responsibility. Second of all, I did. I became very agitated and told him I felt like I was being cheated. Most egregiously, he then proceeded to slide closed the cash drawer, which is the only opening allowing sound to travel into the booth. He turned his back to me and smiled as he did so. It was the equivalent of slowly and gleefully shutting his door in my face. My fingers were clasped over the edge of the cash drawer, and he stopped just short of shutting the cash drawer on my fingers. He then pressed the intercom button and told my fiance, "You need to tell your woman to calm down." I left the establishment, shaking, at 5:22 pm. I feel cheated and lied to. I have never felt so mistreated at a place of business, ever in my life. I have never felt so insulted. read more

For a long time this was a go to station for me as it was on the Central to Alma pass that id drive quite often. Ive come to realize the prices are not what they used to be and since the intersection of Rengstorf and Central's traffic signal patterns have changed it's not as useful unless youre traveling a specific way. Got a car wash here. PLUS for $10 which took 5 minutes. Not bad for quick and dirty car wash if you don't are about your car so much. It will leave some soap residue and some "dirt frame" on your windows since the rotating brush obviously cannot clean corners well. I wish it rinsed the soap better. At least you can bring some towels and wipe the corners of window manually afterwards. But soap residue will not be easy to remove simply by wiping down. read more

Pump 2 malfunctioned shutting itself off before pumping a drop of gas and then charged my credit card for 1 gallon worth of gas. The attendant refused to issue a refund or to investigate the issue. So, I proceeded to another gas station to fill up my tank and then home to start the charge dispute process with my credit card company. There are no driveways that connect to the station and mini-mall. Guess they don't get a long. Means that stop for gas here and then leave. Station is clean and then is a real and useful attendant about usually. read more

Won't come back for car wash again! Late night, after the car wash, the soap is everywhere on the windshield. I guess the water price is too expensive recently. The cashier, "this is conditioner, not soap", "you need to move slowly (so the soap would be blew away)", "hundreds cars wash here everyday, no one complains (so you should not!)". This review is for the car wash I got today and the clerk who helped me. I've been getting gas and a car wash here off and on for about a decade and never had issues, besides the car wash being out of order occasionally. Today, I must have not been paying close enough attention and went a little too far forward in the car wash and had to back up. So I backed up slowly and tried to stop when indicated, except instead the entire machine shut off. I went out to ask the clerk, Nohemi, for assistance. While helping me she proceeded to talk at me in a rude and condescending manner, instructing me on all the things I did wrong. I tried apologizing and telling her I've come here many times but must not have been paying close enough attention this time - she kept on talking at me. Then, I asked her to please stop being mean to me, lol, but she kept going until the car wash was reset and I could wash my car. Needless to say, I won't be coming here again - I'll be going to the touchless car wash near my house that costs the same amount. I hope Nohemi's day improves! read more

I like to get my car washed here. You get .20 cents off per gallon and the cheapest car wash costs 8 dollars. So with the gas savings it's closer to 5 or 6 dollars which is nice. Does a pretty good job of washing the car and is quick! read more

I honestly should've read the reviews first before coming here. The gas is fine, however the car wash at this location sucks! Left many spots, but the worst part is the air dryer broke half way leaving most of my car soaking wet. I paid for the plus package for $8 didn't expect much out of it but I definitely didn't expect the air dryer to stop working. I think it gives you about 1 min and 15 secs of dry time, however, it stop working when there was only 50 secs left. Anyway, if you guys are looking to wash your car don't come here. I've used other drive through car washes before and nothing like this has ever happened, even at other Shell locations with the same machine. There are other better drive though washes you can choose to go to. read more

Review/ info for car wash... This is your basic old-school drive thru car wash. Some things don't change: it's exactly the same as I remember from my childhood Shell station visits with my parents, even though this one was just recently built. Same old cheap thrill of watching the machine go swish swish thump thump thump thump over your car. But unlike my childhood visits, the car wash is no longer free with fill-up: it's $7 and up, but you do get a nice 15-cent discount per gallon. Anyway it was fast, did the trick, and dried in the sun without leaving too many water spots. read more

This gas station recently got a new gas price electronic sign, which I really like because it can be seen from a distance. The good and the bad about this station is that it is on super busy Central Expressway & Rengstorff Avenue so great if you need to get gas but a pain trying to get in and out of the station due to traffic, lights, people crossing, etc. I love the new sign! So irritated right not...I cannot believe this place. It's 11:30 pm (Wednesday). I just got off work and I need gas. Since the car was dirty, got a car wash too. A car before me washed and dried their car perfectly. I get done with my wash and make my way to the drier...why does it all of sudden turn off with over a minute to go? So...I make my way to the "clerk" JORGE. I tell him the situation and he tells me that I have to drive through slowly to get the car dry (Ummmm....yeah, even a not so bright person could figure that out). He was sooooo rude! I then explained the situation again. I even asked him if you heard the drier turn off? He was like, "I'll dry your car." REALLY? It's 11:30 PM!!! He was basically calling me a liar....even when I had my badge on. WOW...Am I missing something or isn't the customer always right (even if they're wrong). I spoke with Mauricio the clerk and he was rude, misinformed and condescending. I live 4 hours away and his solution was to come back tomorrow when the manager was in. I told him I live 4 hours away and his response was I know. The clerk Mauricio should be fired as he does not represent the business and the owner Raj in a positive light. This review is for the CAR WASH ONLY. Crunchy C. I can feel your pain. I had the same problem today. Car was ripped off a piece of my roof rack on my 2007 RAV4. The clerk was clueless on the process for me to recoup my losses. He called the manager which instructed me to fill out an "Car Wash Incident Report". Manager did not provide his name or a number which I could follow up. He also could not tell me when they will follow up with me. Called shell corporate and they had no idea the name of the Franchise operator or contact info where I can follow up. They also stated that since this is a franchise location that they have nothing to do with the business despite the fact that it is their logo and name plastered all over the place. Update: I received a reply back from the business owners and their inurance company. They stated that they will not pay for the damages for my car. The reasoning? They state that the car wash could not have done the damage to my car because they properly maintain their car wash... I will not be wasting more time on trying to recoup damages from these people since the replacement part only cost me $50 but I guarantee I will never spend another penny at this place. I used to really dig this station, cheap gas and a carwash for 3 bucks. The other day I filled up and got in line for the car wash. I saw girl in front of me put cash in the carwash, but the carwash was not working. She called a station attendant out, but he refused to refund her money. I got out to see what was taking so long and told the attendant that I saw her put in the money. He still wouldn't give her a refund. I offered a dollar so that she could show him that the machine wasn't working. After she put that money in and nothing happened, the station attendant *still* refused to refund her money. He also refused to provide the contact information for the manager/owner. It's disappointing because it's so cheap otherwise, but this place is a bit shady. I'd say stay away, especially in light of Cruchy C.'s experience with the huge scratch in her roof. read more

Got gas super late, around 3am. Only had cash, so I gave the clerk 40 dollars and I told him I wanted a car wash as well. The clerk told me I could go fill up my gas, and after I was done I went to the clerk to grab my receipt only to find out i had to pay "card" for the car wash. As a result not only did I have to pay the regular price for gas, but I also did not get my car wash. I wish I can give less than 1 star, unfortunately that option is not available. I went there for a car wash yesterday and only half of my car is washed. The cashier whose name is Alexander doesn't speak English at all! He couldn't speak anything more than 3 English words, not even a complete sentence. First he gave me a invalid number and the washing machine wouldn't start. While I was seeking help from him, he couldn't tell me anything except shaking his head. I asked him what he could do to help me? He didn't seem to understand and all he did was just shaking his head. Finally he generated a new number for me. But when I asked him if he could show me how to use the washing machine since it was my first timing car washing. He is very rude and insanely unhelpful! He couldn't explain anything because he doesn't speak English and the direction he gave me using his body language was very confusing and rude! My car was only half washed in that damn machine because it was stuck at some point during the washing process. This Alexander guy was unable to tell me anything. I told him the car was stuck so I can't move it forward. He didn't understand what I was saying at all! After he saw my car was not washed completely, all he did was shaking his head and walking away. I have no choice but left with a half-washed embarrassing car! I don't understand how he is hired without knowing how to speak English and assisting the customers at all.
