Tyler did my taxes and I was very happy, until I asked him to do my wife's taxes and dissolve an LLC and he unfortunately took MONTHS to get back to me. My wife never received a return back. It wasn't until I told my friend who referred me that I was going to write negative reviews that he immediately got back to me. Very disappointed with the level of service I received from someone who is supposed to be close friends of a mutual friend. It would be best to find another company if you want prompt responses. read more

Unfortunately I have to add my voice to the list of recent negative reviews. Ray Shelton recently passed his business to his nephew, Tyler. Ray was excellent and was everything you could ask for in a CPA. My team and I have been MORE than patient with Tyler on missed deadlines, slow preparation, payroll errors, lack of communication, etc. Unfortunately, Tyler has taken our patience for granted time and time again. Tyler is arrogant, unresponsive, disorganized and should probably find a new career. It's ok to be new to a business and inexperienced. Lack of inexperience should be made up through responsiveness, communication, humility, and hustle. Tyler appears to lack all of that. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE. I DO NOT recommend Shelton and Associates in corona!!! They came so highly recommended by so many people and even a personal friend, but dealing with them has been the WORST experience!! I can give specific details for those interested. Just know that apparently the old owner Ray has retired and now his son Tyler is running it. Every step has been SO unprofessional. And it's currently been 8 weeks and I still don't have my return back!! Also when I called to complain about how my taxes were handled I was told "it was not his job to hold my hand, his prices are cheap for a reason AND he didn't want to hear my bitching anymore"!!!! I HAVE NEVER in my life been treated SO HORRIBLY by a company I PAID money to!!! read more

I have been a customer since the mid 90's. Ray was awesome and so nice. He was thorough and understood tax laws. He has since retired in the last two years, leaving the business to Tyler. I am very disappointed in the service now. Neither I nor my children have received our refunds in the last two years. He has made mistakes on my return and is not responsive unless he's delivering quick information. I'm so frustrated right now. He doesn't know when to file electronically or by paper. Everything is a mess right now. They may be overwhelmed so, don't use them right now. Maybe he'll learn as the years go by. read more

If I could give a 0 I would BEWARE he will hand you your tax return and never file them. I'm dealing with 2020 taxes he never filed and now I am left to deal with the IRS. Horrible service and skill - one year they put in the wrong social security number and I had to deal with that this year when I questioned the number they were giving me they told me to get another opinion and charged me $200 anyway because Tyler said when people get a 2nd opinion they don't come back and we want payment even though they did not provide me with a complete package and he said good luck with that as I was leaving in a sarcastic tone. We used Shelton and Associates for the first and now the only time for our 2020 tax preparation. We tried to get credit for not receiving the second stimulus payment and Tyler Shelton said his software would not allow it, but could take extra credit for payment not received by increasing the charitable donations. That's illegal and we would not do that. Amount involved was $363. After our taxes were filed, we received a letter from the IRS on April 26, 2021 that we would be receiving a refund of almost $496 for overpayment in penalties. After multiple telephone tries and a letter to the IRS, they're too busy and call back later. Having Shelton & Associates do our individual income taxes, and their errors, we are out over $849. Due to errors and limitations in software, we will never have them do our taxes ever again. read more

We worked with Ray for many years, but since Tyler took over, my return wasn't filed for 2019. I got a notice from the IRS to tell us it wasn't filed. So we contacted Michelle an assistant. She started looking into it and somehow the return just got filed, TWO YEARS LATE! We are now faced with late fees, back taxes, and I have been trying for months to contact Tyler and Michelle who won't respond to emails or phone calls. They failed to submit our taxes to IRS after I signed and paid them. Then once they submitted I found out they failed to input direct deposit data, which delayed our return even more. This business is overwhelmed and failing to follow through in a timely manner. When my wife spoke with Tyler Shelton he called her dissatisfaction "bitching" and never apologized for his mistakes in handling our taxes. I don't ever post reviews but this business deserves one. read more
