I'm sure I made things worse by procrastinating, but I had never been to a chiropractor before. I'd never had pain like this, either! So after about 8 months of debilitating pain in my hip, I realized it wasn't improving on its own and I made an appointment with Shelton Family Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. I had been getting their email newsletters for a few years, but never thought I needed "my back cracked". One of the emails had an article about how chiropractic care could help with hip pain! Who knew? I didn't know what to expect, but I was willing to try anything to regain mobility and comfort. By the time I scheduled my first appointment, I was limping from terrible pain that caused me to move less and less. I had to pick my leg up with my hand to get out of my car! There were times I couldn't put pressure on my hip at all and I was relying on the highest doses of Motrin and Tylenol just to get through the day. All day, every day! I was truly amazed at the results after only one treatment! I was warned by Dr. Shelton, "You're going to hate me tomorrow!" but I didn't experience the soreness afterward at all. I remember walking down my hallway the next morning and all of a sudden, I realized I was taking full strides and nothing hurt! It was so shocking that I actually teared up in disbelief! Dr. Shelton is very attentive and comforting, even intuitive in the way he can pinpoint exactly where the problem is. His focus on whole-body health, natural remedies and prevention has made a tremendous impact on my quality of life. Because of the success of that very first adjustment, I trust his expertise and try to follow his suggestions. Now, I walk 2-5 miles nearly every day, I completely changed my sitting habits and furniture, my posture is improving, I haven't had fast food in 18 months and I've even added daily yoga practice for the past 5 months! All these things, and more, were prescribed by Dr. Shelton who also keeps me accountable through encouragement and playful teasing when I'm acting like a whiney baby! Dr Shelton opened his practice on His day off to help my husband with his back pain. There have been several other times in the last two years he has gotten us in quickly as well. Wellness! Let me say it again Wellness. If you are interested in wellness then go and see the good Dr. Shelton. This guy really knows a thing or two about treating a person the way a human should be treated. If I could give him 10 stars, I would. Dr. Shelton took me in as a new patient on very short notice. Isolated exactly what was going on and really gave me an education about myself. Prescribed some exercises, a full on nervous system adjustment and I was right as rain. With two patient rooms and a modest office/ waiting area, I was very comfortable. Don't let his young appearance and uncomplicated office fool you, the man's a genius. read more

Dr. Shelton is a highly knowledgeable chiropractor that I've been seeing as needed over the last of couple years. At each and every visit, I have always felt that Dr. Shelton is listening to my concerns and takes his time to fully explain the science behind the adjustments and physical therapy exercises that he recommends for treatment. The young man Dr. Thomas Shelton is extremely charismatic. However, I left this practice/young man's care due to what I consider unethical treatment practices to ensure return visits. Based on my personal experience --One star for the young man charismatic personality but zero stars for his overall treatment and "Holly's" (the grandmother or mom) unprofessional aggressive behavior and insults when you address your concerns about treatment. read more

I can't review the location, but I can review the doctor. My wife and I used to see Dr. Shelton once a week when he worked in Frederick, MD. He had excellent bedside manner and actually listened to our problems to help us achieve our health goals. If I ever find myself in Southern Maryland, I'll make it a point to stop for an adjustment. read more

Impressive chiropractor. Good impression! First visit a little expensive (but I'm fairly new to the area and I'm learning it's consistent on east coast). I'd highly recommend getting adjusted by him.
