I am being gracious by giving a 2 star review. I looked at this site and saw nothing but 5 star reviews. I don't believe that is accurate. We used Shenouda for several years with good service from Joe. Then suddenly in late 2020, during the purchase and sale of a home, Joe became unresponsive. He would not return messages. His administrative staff would make excuses for him and apologize, but despite numerous attempts to contact him, we could not. At first he had an out of office message on his voicemail, after that he would just ignore us. He did our taxes for two years without issue. We always paid promptly for services. But his sudden and unexpected refusal to talk to us or to answer our calls caused us tremendous grief. We had uploaded all of our tax documents for 2 years, tax deadline ofd 2020 was coming up, and we could get nothing from him. Not a message, not an email. Nothing! We had to scramble to find a new CPA. We had put our trust in this company only to be totally ignored when we needed them most. Either Joe was having some sort of personal emergency that made it suddenly impossible to respond to us, or there is another reason for his behavior. We are a same sex couple. I would hate to think that this fact made him decide after 2 years to suddenly stop interacting with us. In any event, the behavior was unacceptable, unprofessional, and something I have never experienced from a professional in whom we have entered a confidential and fiduciary relationship. We have a great CPA now, and I am a forgiving person, but I can't be silent when I see Yelp with nothing but 5 star reviews for this outfit. Beware! UPDATED: If there was a death, then you have my condolences. However as a retired nurse and lawyer, I know that death is a universal experience. When something prevents us from helping clients with whom we have a fiduciary responsibility, we need to try to attempt to not allow our personal misfortune to spill over onto the the lives of those whom we are paid to assist. I tried to reach out to your company over a dozen times. Never was there an explanation or an attempt to refer us to someone else. I don't buy this excuse. This is not a 5 star organization!!! And Yelp needs to reflect that. read more

Joesph did put taxes, he's very thorough and happy we found him by recommendation from a friend. Rather than sit there and take information as he inputs the taxes, he will meet briefly to take your receipts and information. Then he will complete your tax return at a later time. Then he will sit on the numbers a day or two to make sure there was no mistakes. It's a great technique I often use to make sure I catch any mistakes. Great job Shenouda! read more
