It's a two-fold reason why the museum charges no admission every Saturday: 1) their intent is to make exhibits accessible to everyone, and 2) this aligns with the principle of no exchange of money on Shabbat. As such, the gift shop and basement cafe are both closed then. A juxtaposition of exhibits, Joan Semmel's work with themes of body and intimacy, is on the ground floor. Interesting! As well as other exhibits that I hadn't previously seen. I was unexpectedly there for a couple of hours. I was pleased to see people of different heritages enjoying the museum. It's a worthwhile visit, and now that it's warming up you might want to stroll through Central Park across the street, afterwards.

The exhibit was well arranged and focused on the political side of his work -- I had not previously understood that he was one of the targets of the Nazi campaign against degenerate art, and many of his works beginning in the early 1930.s first in Germany and then in exile in Switzerland. was devoted to indirect or very direct criticisms of Nazi ideology. we also enjoyed the extensive display of menorahs. Leila Heller focuses mainly on Iranian and Middle Eastern artists, but has had a wide array of artists exhibit there- including so many female artists which I appreciate seeing. They often host artist talks as well- which I've attended a few of including one with Shirin Neshat that was incredibly interesting and informative. I appreciate their approach- they don't greet you upon entry, but let the art speak for itself and let you take whichever path you want and allow yourself to be drawn to whatever work you want without feeling any pressure.

Looks like each floor has been newly renovated , very refreshed ambiance. I enjoyed its season's feature exhibition ... a hundreds of colorful and pretty good quality Tiffany lamps on top floor. The history behind the company and its products presentation are magnificent. Another exhibit on this building that kept us interested is the gallery of the US Presidents and the Oval Office on third floor. I would highly recommend this museum for a visit if ever in the area.

Visited the New York Historical museum for the "The New York Sari" exhibit featuring Guyanese…read moreAmerican artist Suchitra Matteo. Her work blends sari fabrics with found materials, reflecting Indo-Caribbean heritage. One piece evokes Bharatanatyam (Kathak)capturing a dancer "in between poses," bridging tradition and personal expression. It felt personal: as a Guyanese American, I thought of my great-aunt, who mastered this dance in the 1960s in Guyana, a path that brought her to NYC. NYC is home to the largest South Asian and Indian diaspora in the U.S. reflects this influence across everyday life. Also, explored the Tiffany's studio lamps. Thoroughly enjoyed this museum and look forward to visit in the future and also explore the cafe.

The receptionist/ Gallery host was very unwelcoming and clearly not a people person. He was condescending and pithy and as a result I was unable to enjoy /focus on the art on display. Just a short walk from the 5th Ave Eden Gallery location, I decided to peruse my way over to the…read moreMadison Ave location. This location has 2 floors and both floors are open to the public. The art usher was very lovely at this location as well and was available if I had any questions (the only one being if I was able to see more art upstairs lol). Stunning pieces throughout - I was able to view some of my favorite artists here - Alec Monopoly and Angelo Accardi. After visiting this location, I found a new love for David Kracov's work. He combines 3D art with comic book themes, and for a portion of his art, Looney Tunes - which who doesn't love that franchise!? I also loved Kunst met een R's works, which specialize in luxury chocolate bar art - beautiful, compact, and extremely elegant! I overheard a buyer come in, and the pieces go for $10-50k!!! I'd love the luxury of walking into a gallery and inquiring about some serious art at high prices - rightfully so, as they're all so beautiful. I'll definitely revisit when I'm in the area when new pieces come into rotation!

He was well versed on the various artists, very customer service oriented and was passionate about the product and his job. The store is COVID-19 ready, conducted temperature checks, plenty of hand sanitizer available and the employees working were vaccinated against COVID. Eden Fine Art has two locations in New York City, and they are in Miami, Aspen, London and Mykonos. They also accept Crypto currency. Obviously artwork is pricey although if you are looking for a statement piece for your home this is the place to go. I would highly recommend you visit the store and ask for Ben. He will provide the personal attention that will guide you through to make an educated decision.

The book store portion is what receives stars because it was wonderful, the books they publish were each so uniquely interesting and beautifully done.

I come alone when I can. Most of the following is included in my museum review. Time passes quickly: Fourteen years ago (approximately) I was enticed to visit the Neue Galerie. The exhibit was called Portraits of an Age. I saw German and Austrian Photography from 1900-1938. That one exhibit took me on an adventure and educational experience that brings me back to the Neue over and over. I've learned to appreciate the works of art in many forms of media. Art is a personal choice. Either you like what you see or not, it moves you or it doesn't. After reading the information about the artists lives and experiences I found a new appreciation for their work. I favor Schiele and Klimt. Especially Schiele who died at age 28 after living a very full crazy life. His work is very sexual. There are a lot of mature works of art in the Galerie. Children 12-16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Under 12 are not admitted. You can go the first Friday of each month from 6-8 for free. Otherwise admission is $20. I find it reasonable. I usually go with family for special visits when they come to NYC. Although the two Cafe's are pricy you can't beat the selection. The spread of deserts is fantastic. I never remember what I had for lunch. I usually get a sandwich. I do always remember my desert. The Classic Viennese Dark Chocolate Cake! The building, light fixtures, furniture, just everything about this Galerie takes you away to other times and places. I love to go to escape! I've posted some of the info from the web site on the museum listing in Yelp. Hours for the Galerie, Shops and Cafes are very specific. Just remember free museum admission monthly on the first Friday thanks to a grant from the Wall Street Journal! No photo taking policy is strictly enforced. :-(
