I made nine of the BUSH Christmas stockings, used them on my mantle for years. Now in their 20s, I gave each of my grandchildren their own.

This is a destination shop for folks who love cross stitch. It's unassuming from the outside and full of beautiful creations on the inside, from floor to ceiling! The selection of charts, kits, fabric and threads is amazing, and it feels like a lovely old library with soft lighting and wood shelves and file folders. It's a busy place, but I had a chance to chat with one of the owners who was very gracious and welcoming. There were even treats for shoppers, and it's so fun to see and photograph the displays and stitched models that date back many years. The town of Ogden has lovely mountain scenery and a friendly, outdoorsy vibe. read more

Great customer service. My first visit to this shop. I will be back. The beautiful samples. The massive inventory. The great prices. And BEST ... the personal service provided by Tina and Teri. A kit I wanted was sold,out. No problem. Teri just put one together while I browsed the shop. I will definitely be back whenever I am anywhere close to Ogden. I expect I'll find many reasons to be in the area now that I've discovered this wonderful shop. read more

This is a great store if you cross stitch, but not great for needlepoint. It's a pretty crowded store with tons of stuff, fibers galore, stitching accessories, lots of displays of cross stitched patterns. I've been at least six times, every time I feel like I'm bothering the staff and it takes a while to get checked out. read more

This is a world famous cross stitch store. The staff are very knowledgeable and I have always found them to be polite and helpful. They know their regulars, but have been happy to talk to me every 6 months or so too. The historic space is packed with supplies, patterns, and completed pieces. They rotate the displayed pieces and have an extensive collection. My wife and I love to visit to stock up on some of the more obscure cross stitching threads and to get ideas and be inspired by what is on display. During a recent visit we asked about thread conditioner. Off the top of her head the staff member knew her store stock, the name and manufacturer of the most popular brand, that it had gone out of production and exactly when, and what alternatives there were and which was best. I have been wanting to go to this store for a while. I was in that part of town on Saturday and had some time so I decided to stop by. I had read the reviews before I went but was hoping the bad reviews of their service were just a few bad days. However, I had the exact same experience. I went in and there were a few other people in the store who were chatting with the ladies working in the store. Clearly, they were regulars in the store and they all seemed to know each other. I was not greeted or asked if I needed any help at any time. I didn't mind at first because I just wanted to look and see what they had and I was fine to look on my own. I had a little trouble finding some patterns I was interested in and had to search a little -- there wasn't anyone to help me. Finally, I decided on a couple of patterns I wanted to buy. I took them to the register and stood there for a few minutes. One of the ladies working in the store walked up to the counter and placed a few items on the counter. Now she was clearly helping someone already and had just come up to place a couple of items on the counter that they had picked out for the customer. I don't mind that she was already helping someone but I would have appreciated some acknowledgement. She didn't say "I'll be with you in a minute" or anything. In fact, she came back twice and didn't say anything to me or acknowledge me either time. Then after another couple of minutes another worker came up to the front and looked me right in the eye but did not acknowledge me or say anything to me. I stood there for another couple of minutes and then I went and put my patterns back and left the store. This is a great store if you want to do cross stitch. They have soooo many super cute patterns (with displays so you can see what they look like done) and everything you would need to finish a project. I was impressed with their selection and I loved the store and everything they had. However, not even being able to get someone to take my money after I had helped myself with finding things is ridiculous. They need to work on their customer service for sure! They get 3 stars for the products and selection but zero stars for service. read more

While the store and merchandise are very cute, I always feel like I'm interrupting someone else's party. I go in once or twice a year, and the staff always seems to be involved in extended conversations with regulars. I go in and browse for an hour without ever being greeted or asked if I need help. That's fine. I prefer to not be harassed while I'm shopping. But when I go to check out, it's a major imposition to take my money. The service is cold, abrupt, impatient, and unfriendly. Don't even ask about cutting fabric. It's sad when online shopping offers a more personal experience--you pay less and aren't made to feel like you're a hassle. I believe in supporting local business--even when it costs more--and I hate to give a local place a bad review, but a local place that acts like a clique is no fun to support. read more

Very creatively setup inside! Gives you a warm feeling going in and coming out. Anyone in need of some embossing, knitting, pretty much anything with string work, should definitely go here. read more
