We stayed here on 7/19/23 for a short overnight. The reception was warm and friendly and the place seemed brand new. We were surprised to find it has been here for some time; the modern look and cleanliness had lead us to believe otherwise. Our spacious room was more than adequate for even an extended stay. It, too, was very clean and well stocked. The fridge was very roomy and high-tech. All in all, as our shelter before and after one hell of a birthday party, we loved it. We would come back in a heartbeat and recommend this to anyone staying in the area. read more

Stay was for 1 night on Monday March 6. Parking is plentiful and free with lots of lighting in the open lot. If it's raining you can drive up the back entrance and they have a covered porch to unload without getting wet. Check in is easy at the lobby with friendly staff but their app check in is currently not working properly so keep that in mind and plan ahead. Rooms are not outdated as stated in other reviews, they are actually very updated with all of the necessary plugins for connectivity etc. Television Internet Tv accessible (Netflix, Prime etc) just to name a few. Wine chillers, coffee makers, ice buckets and comfy bedding makes this room a home away from home. 4th floor houses the Sheraton Lounge accessible by coded key based on your Marriott Bonvoy Elite status. They offer snacks, drinks and a business work lounge. Breakfast is served downstairs now and is free for the Marriott Bonvoy Elite folks and $18 for everyone else, this is on top of your 1k points not in place of. I've been here a few times and haven't had any issues besides my room keypad not working because the battery was out but I was back in my room about 15-20 minutes after I contacted the front desk. Tip: Rooms are dark so if that little blue light from the wine chiller bothers you, grab a towel, fold it in half and cover it lol simple fix. read more

This is probably one of the better Sheratons I've stayed in over the past couple of years. The property looks nice from the outside and inside it's really nice. The room was clean and very nicely kept up, even though it's the older design and will soon be refurbished. Checking in was decent, the lady was friendly. The property has a lot of rooms, so it was quite a walk to my room after getting to my floor. I liked pretty much everything about the stay - EXCEPT the lobby restaurant/bar. I got a card when checking in for a free glass of wine, so I went down to get one. About ¾ of the tables in the restaurant had dirty dishes which haven't been cleaned yet. There were a lot of people also dining at the bar and other tables. There was ABSOLUTELY NO EMPLOYEE in the area... none to be found! I figured they were getting something from the kitchen and decided to wait. I waited so long that I felt I might as well wait this out. After 15 minutes, I got tired and walked away... never saw an employee - THIS IS RIDICULOUS and demonstrates very poor management. If it weren't for the horrible experience in the restaurant/bar, I would have given this property 5 stars. read more

Walking into the hotel, it was quiet and very clean. We waited in line to check in which the guest services, D, was amazing! She made the check in process a breeze and stress free. The hotel has a snack area, lunch service, dinner service and full bar. The bar and restaurant opens for the second shift at 4pm On the floor of our room it was quiet and felt like we were the only ones there. I did get waken up around 6 when some ones door slammed really hard but other than that the room itself was pleasant, Spacious, clean with full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion. Staff is friendly and the hotel is clean, but hard to get a good night's sleep. Walls are paper thin with likely no soundproofing and the doors slam shut, so you will be woken up every time someone on your floor goes in/out. If you are afraid of the dark, no problem! The geniuses at this hotel installed glass door wine fridges with a bright led display right next to your bed! Blue light is the exact light that keeps people awake. I stay at the Sheraton by Marriott McKinney almost weekly when flying in town for work. Granted, I'm a regular so that might factor in to the service quotient but from the first stay onward, i've been very pleased with the staff and their service. The rooms are nice, as well as the amenities within. Staff gets 5 stars, rooms 4 stars, but food selection overall 3 stars. I'm giving 5 stars total due to the fact that, for me, people and service trumps everything else. I have access to the Club Lounge (their version of a concierges room), and have made a few suggestions to add some options for health conscience people, as there is nothing of nutritional value other than the apples and mixed nuts. Everything else is just flavored sugar yogurt, granola trail candy bars, breakfast cereals, etc. A nice variety yet all the same. Maybe add hard boiled eggs and regular Plain whole milk Greek yogurt ? The main restaurant/bar has great staff and overall has a nice vibe. The one rude person is no longer there - assume he left? The food can be a little inconsistent, but when it's on, it's good. Food doesn't align with the pricing, but always served with a smile and friendly conversation. read more

I stay here on work trips a couple times per year. It's conveniently located (though too far to walk anyplace), has ample parking and lobby area is open and contemporary. Staff is super-friendly helpful and friendly and rooms are clean, quiet, spacious and updated; I found the beds to be very comfortable and in-room connectivity is great for business use. The TVs pair with your phone, so you can use your phone as a remote and also login to streaming services like Prime Video. There is a nice little bar and breakfast area off the lobby, and buffet breakfast is excellent; nice eggs, crepes, sausages, bacon, etc., with good service. Couldn't ask for more. read more

I cannot understand the bad reviews of this place. I have stayed here in their premium rooms. Top notch! Very modern and very super clean. The check-in area is a delight full of marble floors and fresh flowers. Hotel staff is super polite and awesome. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. However, it's worth mentioning that this hotel is very secluded and isolated. There are no eating/dining/entertainment options within walking distance. In other words, you will need to have a car or use ride-share/taxi if you want to eat decent food or experience any kind of nightlife. They do have a decent selection of small grab and go items available 24/7 in their refrigerated section near the check-in desk to help stave off hunger pains! To summarize....if you have a car or ride-share options (which is very cheap) then this hotel is a perfect fit. However, if you are seeking an all-inclusive hotel bar/eating/entertaining experience then you need to book a different hotel. read more

My entire stay was A+ They are a hotel and event center. There is PLENTY of free parking. Check in & out was a breeze. Room was awesome. Bar & restaurant on site. I attended an event in their Throckmorton Room, so it was nice to take the elevator home :-) No complaints. My husband and I are SPG members and we booked this hotel for 5 consecutive nights. We came in town to visit my family and this hotel sparked our interest because of the location and distance from Historic DownTown McKinney. It's a nice good looking hotel and it smells deliciously clean as you walk in. The decor is modern Chic and very well taken care of. However, I stepped on the border line of the carpet and floor and I pricked my foot on something sharp that I called front desk and placed a request for them to cone in and take care of that. My husband and I left the room so that the engineer could come in and work on the request. When we cane back the same thing happened, I picked my foot and it did look like the engineer came in and worked on it with what he could, but the problem was not resolved. We had also ordered extra towels and shampoo/conditioner. Which they did not comply, so my hubby had to go down stairs (literally stairs bc the elevator was broken) and had to request the front desk, which they s not him bank up and told him housekeeping would stop by and drop them off. The second day, we requested extra shampoos and conditioners, I have waist down long thick hair and a tiny travel size bottle does me no favors. Also with the scorched big Texas heat, I take two- three showers a day, I know right ‍‍. I was shocked to not see the requested items in our bathroom waiting for our arrival back to our room. So here we go again, we take a trip back down to front desk to get those items. I don't know about you, but when I come back to my hotel room, after a long and fun day, the last thing you want to do is chase shampoo and conditioner. On the third day I accidentally broke my foundation, it slipped off my hand as I was shaking it and it landed on the floor. I called and warned them about possible unseen shattered glass. I mentioned to them that I cleaned up what I could but it would need to be cleaned and vacuumed just in case. The first thing they ask me was if anyone was hurt, which was a nice touch and it made me feel comforted. The bad thing is, their maid did a sloppy job with the cleaning up. I have attached a pic of the after clean area and the sloppy job that was done. So 2 and a half days passed by and no one ever bothered to wipe down the trash can that was smeared with foundation, or the sink and part of the wall. That just made me feel concern bc what that tells me is that they do not clean the trash cans (it's awful enough that they do not use trash bags on them) so all they are doing is emptying out the garbage (that's plain gross). Also there was doggy poo on the entrance sidewalk that was there the day after we checked in and the morning of our check out. Bacteria does not sleep on weekends. There was also hairs smeared on the shower wall. I just washed it down with water but that was gross. I'm not sure if they are short on staff or just simply don't give two hoops about their guest. We will not return to this hotel again, that's for sure. On top of that their front desk staff seemed to be in their own little bubble. Apparently the front desk does not relate the requested info to housekeeping or there seems to be a language barrier there. This hotel was great! Bonvoy hotels seem to be stepping it up. Checking in was easy and the concierge, Angel, was fabulous. The guest services aspect that stood out the most was how responsive staff was to texting their main line. Angel asked how the room was after arriving, if anything was needed, and the following day when I had questions, they were helpful and attentive. For breakfast there are two options, $10 for a continental with cold options, baked goods, fruit and yogurt. Or $14 for all of that plus any of the hot items like eggs, home fries, biscuits and gravy etc. I chose the $14 and it was great! There were a few hot sauce and salsa options and service was good too. I worked out at the gym and found it to be clean, with plenty of equipment. You look out towards to pool which is great if you're a parent to keep an eye on kids. The lobby is sleek and contemporary and the bar was pretty busy both night. The room was clean and modern, shower was large and there was lots of space to hang clothes set up suitcases. Great stay, I recommend but I just wish there was a fridge and a hand steamer! read more

Typing this as I speak to the front desk attendant about the possibility of switching to another room (at 1:15am might I add). Customer service is impeccable, but the cleanliness of the hotel is subpar. After reading a few reviews, I see that a few guests have shared similar experiences, complaining of esthetic or "worn down" areas in the guest rooms, but my experience is much more of a serious sanitation and general health concern. I spotted, what appears to be, a bed bug (see attached video) in the sheets of the double bed that I was sleeping in on the 2nd floor. I was shocked, as I've traveled the country, staying in several hotels coast-to-coast (many incomparable to the Sheraton's reputation and legacy), and have never had a bed bug encounter. I'm only writing this review to inform other incoming guests and to ensure that the team/ management responsible for the health and safety of Sheraton's guests is held responsible to prevent such a hazard from occurring moving forward. Again, the service that I've received is nothing short of excellent, and I would like to thank the Sheraton staff for being so attentive amid this discovery. read more

My husband and I went there for our anniversary. Whereas it wasn't really a romantic environment, it was a clean hotel and a nice environment. He chose this hotel due to location because it was close to the play and where we were having dinner. I did call the front desk because their shampoo, conditioner, body soap and hand wash were all the scent "Wood Oak" or something very similar. It was a very musky smell and my husband liked it, but it definitely was not for me. I called the front desk and asked for another scent and they were able to find a travel size shampoo in a light scent, but that was all. Fortunately, I had another travel-size body soap in my luggage and I used their travel-size shampoo for my hand wash. I think it would be good, under the circumstances, if they offered a lighter fragrance in case there are other customers the musky bath soaps are too strong for. The bed was about a 3 1/2, but the room was clean when we got there. We did eat in their dining room for breakfast. My husband ate from their buffet and would give it a 3 and I ate one of their omelets and would give it a 2. Their breakfast potatoes were good and would give them a 4, but outside of that I would never order that omelet again. It did look good and initially I was excited, but when I took my first few bites, I thought it was very bland. Also, I went to the coffee bar to get some hot tea , but they only had one flavor and it was a black tea. I was disappointed with their selection and just drank water. Then at midnight, they came in to check into the hotel and said no, we have to check you in. We've unchecked you. Then their systems were down, so they had to have security bring me up. To the room, all send down, things happen. I understand that there is no problem at this point. The next morning. Our project didn't go as expected. We talked to the front desk and said I'd do the late checkout, but I was charged for breakfast. Please take that off and then said no problem, we'll take that off. I said to leave the $8 tip for the waitress. They said no problem. And approximately 2:00 p.m. I apparently spoke to the front desk manager and said, hey, I'm leaving. I'm checking out, and I even gave my room number. And they said they would take care of it and then at the airport can't seem to get a bill called them, and they said they'll take care of it. No statement has yet been asked for the general manager's voicemail; they said she's n a conference. After my message, no callback; I called the hotel again, asking for the bill. Now I have been charged through Friday. So now, the $508 should have been approximately $163. And ask for the general manager, who's again at a conference in this room. The capacity of this hotel is 200 rooms. How many meetings do you send to GM in a week? It's been a week, and I'm still trying to get my bill. I had to call America Marriott hotels. To intervene. I didn't get a response. From our town, but the hotel said they just had to contact me. Why would I call you back after speaking to over six times and trying to get a bill resolved, or should it be something simple? However, I contacted American Express, who will dispute the charge. But I would tell you, stay away from the hotel. They don't know what they're doing. This is not a Marriott. It's a franchise. And they are lost. They have no idea what the hell they're doing. It's a rundown hotel. I thought it would be expert service, but it's not. It shouldn't take a week to get your damn bill. I do not recommend it. It's not a great hotel. read more

Very classy hotel, easy to find, ample parking behind the building. Front desk was super friendly, they even let me borrow a phone charger when I forgot mine. The room was very comfortable, bathroom looks great, amazing shower. The breakfast was superb as well, but take note, it costs around $15 a person which despite the signs, I was unaware of that. Reserved our stay through Southwest Airlines well in advance. We booked a king room with breakfast included. Our room was changed to two doubles and we were not informed. The clerk said no king rooms were available and that they probably overbooked for king rooms...polite but no help. Then he said breakfast was not included and I had to forward a copy of our reservation to him to show the contracted rate and breakfast add ons. His excuse for all the hassle was that the "outside" reservation system and Marriott did not work well together... The following day we left at 9:30am returning at 3:30pm to find the room still not cleaned. Housekeeping showed up about 4pm...needless to say we opted out since we were getting cleaned up for the evening out. Second night of our stay was noisy...we returned at almost 1am to find a large party in the bar area as well as the 4th floor lounge/club. Yes, the 4th floor where guest rooms are...most places we have stayed or used for functions close down like activity by 11 or 12. Gotta question their policy and management decisions. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and nice. The reason I'm taking off 2 stars is simply because of the bed. I know hotels are notorious for not the best beds, however, I felt like I was sleeping on the ground they were so hard. Both my husband and I woke up with stiff backs and hips. The pillows were extremely flimsy and no support at all. For a room that costs 140 a night, I do expect to at least be a little comfortable. My husband can usually sleep anywhere perfectly, so when he complains about it I know it's not just me. That being said, it is a very nice hotel with cleaning, decor, etc. It's just the beds that were my downfall read more

ABOVE & BEYOND/SUPER CLEAN! This was a very tough trip for me because of my reason for being there as a witness and victim of a criminal trial. The staff made what was an unbearable situation as good as it possibly could be and went out of their way to watch out for me and be helpful... Jason at the front desk even gave me a super late check out due to it being Thanksgiving so I wouldn't be stuck at the airport for an additional four hours.Nate was helpful in his own quiet way as the bartender, server. Housekeeping staff was on point and always ready to help with their fantastic steamer for my wrinkles travel clothes etc. All the staff in every department for such top shelf service and helpfulness. Man, does this place have potential. It's definitely one of those places that from far away is super awesome but up close is absolutely disgusting. If your vision is anything beyond 20/50, youll be fine. My philosophy on germs is (normally) the more the merrier as it builds up your immune system. This place immediately turned me into a germaphobe. With enough random stray hairs to make a wig out of and enough greasy fingerprint marks on anything that can hold a print, I'm likely never going to come back to this hotel. The good news is I have shower sandals, the bad news is that I actually have to use them. The staff was pleasant at the front desk (two gold stars for you!) If this is how they keep their club rooms, who knows what the regular rooms are like. And just for the record, the only reason I actually ended up noticing all this stuff was because i tried ordering room service and the phone in the room wouldn't even work. #hangry. This was a great stay! We were looking for a pet friendly hotel at a moderate cost, with parking for a uhaul and this fit the bill. Had it not been for the whole breakfast fiasco, I would have given this place 5 stars. What happened? Well, when I booked the room over the phone I was told breakfast was included. Then when we checked in, my husband was told breakfast was included. When I tried to get breakfast, I was told I had to pay $14.99 for the buffet or $10 for continental, per person. I asked the person at the counter why we would have been told TWICE that breakfast was included if it wasn't. She was polite, but she didn't really try to help me and just shrugged it off to miscommunication. Then she asked if I'd rather pay for a full breakfast at the dining area. Why the heck would I want to do that? I'd have to pay even more than the $14.99 for the buffet, when I shouldn't have to be paying anything because I was told more than once that it was included. The rooms were very nice and clean. This hotel is nicely decorated and appears to be very well taken care of. The beds were super comfortable. My only other somewhat gripe is there were only 2 towels in the bathroom. One of them fell on the wet bathroom floor, so my husband and I were left with only one towel. I literally had to use hand towels to dry myself off (and my very long hair). One thing I was very pleased about, is this is a pet friendly hotel and there was no pet deposit! I'm moving across the country, so after paying out the nose in pet fees for multiple dogs, in multiple hotels, it was very refreshing to be welcomed with my dogs and not have to pay any additional fees. The security guard did stop as I was walked by and made a really ugly expression at myself and my service dog, but I chuck that up to the fact that maybe he'd never seen a pitbull as a service dog before, Idk. I said hi and smiled, but he didn't answer me and continued to look at us like we were crazy. The parking lot was very large and well lit so I was able to park my Uhaul just fine. Man! So wanted to love this hotel. But... They charged me regular club suit prices but closed the club for New Years! Yes you just read that right. Anyone who stays at club level knows how unbelievable this is. No free drinks, no night snack right down from your room and no breakfast right down from your room. So to make up for this they tried to give me a couple of vouchers to come all the way down to the lobby on New Year's night to get anything. When I asked about the free drinks they said "oh yeah" we'll throw in some but you still have to come all the way down to the lobby. Unreal! The Sheraton club at DFW is far better! Even when the club is closed the drinks are out and available. I booked this room for this night specifically for this reason. They didn't even have the courtesy to seem sorry about it. If your going to make a stupid decision to close the club on New Year's at a nice hotel and still charge guess as if it were open, then post it on your website! Apart from this the front of the hotel is poorly designed, you think the back is the front. The front looks like the back. Then you have to go out of your way to get back to the parking after check-in. Then walk forever to get into the hotel. You can only get in through the lobby. Come on, I booked a suit at club floor level and the manager didn't even come out and speak to me. I'm a Starwood member and have stayed long stays in Sheraton properties. This is ridiculous! Who is the owner and who is running this hotel? I'm going to write Sheraton corporate about ruining my New Year's! Now... On to find another hotel, great! More diving. This was the first hotel we have stayed in since the pandemic hit. Obviously, we are looking for things to be top-notch in terms of room cleanliness and protocol. I feel in this area, they failed. The lobby smelled fresh and clean, there were social distance reminder stickers everywhere and the employee who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. Valerie was her name. We went up to the room and I did a quick room check to make sure everything looked clean, including turning down the bed blanket. The sheets did not look clean! They were very wrinkled and right up by the pillows was a huge nasty looking stain. We took a photo and went back down to the desk to ask for our bed to be remade. Valerie was very apologetic and nice and explained that they were short-staffed because of two weddings and taking in evacuees from the hurricane. She offered us a free drink at the bar and told us when we came back she would have our room made up. We had to go out and do some errands anyway and were out for about an hour. We stood in line at the desk again and found out they hadn't had time to change the sheets so she was going to give us a new room. Again, Valerie was a super employee and did everything right including being appropriately apologetic. Our new room was right next to the elevator where all night we heard the ding ding ding of the buttons and people congregating. We were on the second floor and I have a feeling that was the floor were all the evacuees had been put as it was non-Stop shouting, running of children, and the room next to us sounded like a party was going on all night. We had to call and complain about the noise. The worst part came the next morning when we went to take our showers and discovered that the only towels in the bathroom were used and hanging behind the bathroom door on hooks. They were obviously used, as there were makeup and other unmentionable streaks all over them. Disgusting and unacceptable. We had to use the tiny hand towels to dry ourselves. They were the only ones that looked clean. One mistake you can overlook somewhat but two during one visit? Both dirty sheets and dirty towels? No. Thank you to Valerie for being an exceptional employee but we won't be staying there again. read more

There was some good things - pool, clean hallways, fast check in, plenty and spacious parking. A/C and temperature control very good, tv is large and bed is comfortable. Some ok things - dusty amenities the bathroom and torn up tissues still in my tissues box. Probably the most important area to be clean is the bathroom where guests are using the things for health and sanitation purposes. Makes me wonder if they cleaned the rest of the room well enough or not. read more

Second time to stay here. The rooms was great, we were even upgraded to a Junior Suite. The lobby area is a great space to visit with people you are traveling with. Spacious and comfy seating. Five minute drive to downtown McKinney. read more

I usually consider all the hotels and man has there been a lot "heartbreak hotel" over the last 4 mo. This one was nice, bright, cheerful, colorful and I immediately didn't feel the nausea and dread of yet another hotel to break down in and be miserable. The entrance is a bit confusing especially if your relying on our trusted ole friend Siri, redrum redrum! Go in the first entrance off frontage .... Don't listen to Siri, have yet to figure out her alterer motive - let me know if you know .... Front desk staffing .... OVER the top AMAZING, that lady needs a promotion!!!! Was unfamiliar with the area, but even though the hotel is set a bit back - it is surrounded by tons to do and keep you busy for sure! read more

We booked through a third party and due to our traveling problems he had we didn't make it in until around 4 am. Which we live 10 hours away. We had no idea that we had to notify the hotel because when you make a reservation and pay for it there is no reason anyone should cancel it no matter what time it is. We waited in the lobby for 20 mins when we got there no one was to be found. The manager Dolores needs to learn how to express that they could not give us a refund when we asked last night she said it wouldn't be a problem on their end when now our third party just notified us it was the manager that rejected the refund. Don't waste ur time going here. read more
