The pet area trash receptical that was over flowing.
    Leslie M.

Nice hotel with clean rooms. Looks like it's fairly new or recently remodeled. The breakfast was a good variety of items. The staff was pleasant. They do need to empty their outside trash recepticals more often. The small trash can next to the pet area was overflowing. I'd think they would empty that daily but it was full when we got there and still full when we left. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance which is convenient.

    Bed bug

Terrible room conditions and poor customer service. Hotel has a BED BUG infestation (look at the pictures and video)!! Instead of giving us a free replacement room, the general manager said he has to rebook us and tried to charge us 3 times the price of the hotel we had originally booked it for. Scam artist!!! My son and I ended up in the hospital after all the red rashes and bites all over our bodies. Stay away!!!

There's a lot of hot bitches working here. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. They have a huge continental breakfast that changes daily. They also have a pool, fitness center, business center and work out room.

    Bed bug on my pillow
    Liz P.

Stayed here last week from Sunday to Saturday. Woke up on the 2nd or 3rd night of our stay to 3 bites on my arm.. panicked and searched the bed to find 1 medium sized bed bug. Immediately called downstairs and explained and requested to be moved. The lady at the desk, Grace I believe, showed no concern about this issue or sympathy. I work for a pest control company and I know how high the risk is of bringing them home and how expensive this can be to deal with. We were just placed in another room on the 2nd floor. Tried to speak to a manager I believe later that day/the next day and no manager was present. Grace told us that they checked the previous room (#314) and was told they didn't find anything. Made us feel like we were idiots and again, like it was not a serious issue. I showed her photos of the bug that was on my pillow and my arm bites. Left to do business for the day and tried to call 2x and didn't get ahold of a manager nor a call back. Came back to the hotel later that day and spoke to the manager finally, Javier, and he was also making us feel like idiots about the situation. Saying Ecolab came out and they didn't see anything either but they were treating the room anyways. Disputed my photos and showing him my arm bites and photos he still didn't seem to care or even.. believe us?? They comped us for one night and told us he would put it through but we would need to contact Expedia who we booked through. That is fine but still, the lack of good customer service in this situation is concerning. To think that a large hotel such as theirs did not care or express any type of empathy on the experience and situation is so so concerning.. like this is no big deal? Like I didn't have to work the entire week without my arm itching like crazy bc of this issue. Like we didn't have to spend money to wash and dry our clothes and do all that we could to prevent spreading bed bugs to the other room, the airport, and worse case our homes!! Thankfully we know how to deal with this situation but overall - Very disappointed with our stay here and will never be returning.

I don't think a sink is supposed to do this...the whole thing is so loose, I could wiggle it out the wall if I wanted ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I booked the room -- the Anthony Suite on the top floor -- a year in advance. This place has a decent refund policy with enough advance notice, so if you are considering the Nethery Estate, book early. There are not a lot of rooms here and it appears from the pictures inside of it that groups/families tend to rent all of them for events, so it can fill up quickly. The estate is a nifty place. It is an older style home, but well kept. You park in the back and are texted a code for the gate to get in. The key to your room is left outside on the back porch and you go to your room as you would like. Definitely a colonial style home with a suit of armor next to the stairs (that's true). If you look closely around, you will see several references to Harry Potter, which my wife enjoyed finding and we looked around. Our room was awesome, with a nice couch and TV in front of it, a small table to sit at to eat, a comfy bed, and a separate bathroom with a cool tiled shower. Downstairs has a small sitting area, a bar, and another room has the long dining room table. My wife and I were comfortable walking into the place and going in and out of our room to activities as we saw fit. We did encounter some of the other guests, but only briefly. There is a small ice machine, which we used while we were there. And there is a mini-fridge next to it that guests had put in some leftovers as there aren't fridges in the rooms (which is all fine because Tiffany handles some of the cooking for you!). My wife and I went outside to hang out for a while because we had been at the zoo during the day and it was 86 degrees -- which is hot for us Oregonians for the beginning of April. We brought swim wear as the first amenity listed on Netherly's site is the salt pool. Sadly, it was not heated and still appeared to have some small branches from the property in it. It hadn't been warm enough for long enough for it to be available. The hot tub adjacent to it didn't have water, but honestly, I didn't remember anything mentioned on the website about a hot tub, so it was not anything I was expecting anyway. We can and enjoyed the back yard for a little bit, but opted to go inside and take a shower to cool off and then head out for activities. The first morning I had paid extra to have food delivered to our room. It is a good thing I put on some pants when I opened the door because Tiffany walked in to set down the food on the table for us. I've been to a couple other B&Bs and it is usually left outside, but I figured I'd not answer in the nude and that was a good idea. We were told she enters to set things up to ensure we don't eat in the bed as it is a nightmare to clean up (and I believe it). We had chopped potatoes, some waffles, and a little bit of fruit. More than enough for my wife and I. The next day we ate at the large table downstairs. We ate with a couple from France that had come to view the eclipse. Tiffany was very pleasant and talkative during that time. I cannot specifically remember all of the food, but it included more chopped potatoes, some toast, and I cannot remember what else. It was good food, though, and more than enough for me to eat. Tiffany also gave us a dessert cornmeal kind of muffin that was pretty good as well. For my personal experience, I look to the front page of Nethery's page that touts "Southern Hospitality Hotel Accommodations with a Pool" that the next page says is open in spring. summer, and fall. I don't think the site even mentions a hot tub, so no worries on that. It may not have been warm enough for the pool to really work out so early in April, but we were looking forward to having a more private pool than one found at a large hotel. The home is beautiful and sitting outside to bask in the sun is nice. Getting in and out was easy and the room we had was awesome. If you pay to have breakfast in your room, make sure you are dressed. You get generous portions and the food is pretty good! But look -- the pool thing aside, which I wouldn't want anyone reading this to make too big of a deal about as it didn't ruin any plans and wasn't the primary reason for my choosing Nethery Estate, we had a great time. My wife was very pleased that Nethery Estate was where we spent our 2nd anniversary together. It is certainly it's own experience and Tiffany is a great host, so if you are considering staying here -- book it.

We were finishing breakfast with our pregnant daughter and her 2 small children. A homeless man came in and walked over to help himself to the free breakfast. (Which had already been shut down and cleaned up) I quickly realized no one and I mean NO ONE was attempting to stop him from entering this area. It was a woman all by herself managing the entrance. I was looking at her expecting her to pick up a phone to call the police or get someone to address this. I even mouthed to her she needed to remove him. Since nothing was happening and I was fearing for my families safety I had already gotten them up and was heading them back to our rooms. ROACHES & DISHONESTY!…read more I booked this place during an emergency, and trust me, I will NEVER make that mistake again. The hotel clearly relies on guests who don't have many options, because anyone with standards would walk right back out. I wasn't in the room long before I saw roaches. Not a single one. Enough to tell me exactly what kind of property this was. I kept my composure, waited until the front desk finished with another guest, and explained the situation quietly. The clerk (PATEL) knew the deal immediately. He even tried to kill the roaches himself. I told him not to bother, because I was leaving. He assured me my cancellation was fine and my money would be returned. I shouldn't have had to think twice about that. But apparently that level of honesty is above this hotel's pay grade. They refunded the deposit but still tried to charge me for the full stay, even though I didn't stay there. Then came the excuses. First I "stayed the entire time." When that didn't hold up, suddenly I was "eating in the room." Then magically there were "no roaches," even though I have photos, videos, and the clerk literally hunting one down in front of me. It was embarrassing to watch them scramble. Booking.com reached out to them to simply drop the charge down to one night, which would have been the standard policy. The hotel stopped responding altogether. They wanted the full amount, and they didn't care how they got it. Thankfully, I paid through Klarna. Klarna stepped in and handled the mess this hotel created. If I had paid this place directly, they absolutely would have kept my money and lied the whole way through. I waited until the entire situation was resolved before writing this, but people deserve to know exactly what they're walking into. The hotel is dirty, dishonest, and the customer service reflects it. I booked here out of urgency, not preference. Next time I'll stick to the level of hotels I'm used to, because this one proved exactly why it sits at the bottom. Photos will be posted with this review.

When I called hours later, I was told they were already thrown in the trash. Most hotels have a 30-day lost-and-found policy; discarding a guest's valuable property on the same day is negligent. Guest relations has been dismissive. Between the 'bait and switch' on the room and the destruction of my property, I would strongly advise staying elsewhere. Corporate has been notified. BBB IS next! Then we could not get the TV to work. Called the desk clerk for assistance. She did not have a clue. My husband is good with stuff like that so after about 15 minutes he figured out what had happened. Very frustrating. Breakfast the next morning was a joke. We went to the breakfast area around 8:00.
