ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD I woke up during my stay to find my hotel room flooded with contaminated toilet water. The water spread throughout the room, damaging my personal property, including electronics, clothing, and other belongings. The flooding itself was bad enough, but what happened afterward was even more concerning. After the incident, I personally observed hotel staff placing fans in the room to dry it out. What I found troubling was that, to my knowledge, the carpet was not replaced, and I later observed the room being rented to another guest. As a customer, this raised serious concerns for me regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and how the situation was handled after a room had been contaminated by toilet water. I immediately reported the incident, took photographs, recorded video, provided receipts, and submitted documentation for the damaged property. Despite my cooperation, I have spent weeks attempting to obtain updates regarding my claim. The claim was referred to Gallagher Bassett, and I have communicated with Senior Resolution Manager Abby G. Corter. I have also communicated with General Manager Deepak Subbaiah. Unfortunately, obtaining updates and meaningful communication regarding my damaged property has been extremely difficult. As a paying guest, I expected a safe and properly maintained room. After my property was damaged through no fault of my own, I expected accountability, communication, and prompt resolution. Instead, I have experienced delays, frustration, and a lack of urgency. I have photographs, videos, receipts, and documentation supporting the flooding incident and the resulting damage. If you stay here, I strongly recommend documenting everything and carefully inspecting your room. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I will continue to update this review as the claim progresses. The hotel was proximity to our office building (1.2 miles). I wouldn't have mind walking the 30 mins or so but it was so humid out. My room was clean with a mini fridge inside. The bathroom was spacious too. The King bed was comfortable (no bed bugs). The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a small concession area that offered snacks and sundries. The lobby had seating and desks with charging stations. There is an indoor pool, also, as well as an exercise equipment room for exercise-addicted travelers but, unfortunately, it was under construction at the time. We took advantage of the continental breakfast (not free) on our first day. The hotel is right across the Ridgedale Center shopping mall. Overall a pleasant stay. Review #3110 read more

Clean hotel with friendly staff, and a location convenient in the area. That is the best I can say though. There is a pool and hot tub sitting in the middle of the first floor. I can't imagine that the folks walking by to grab a coffee or check in want to see someone swimming and I surely don't my relaxing time interrupted by some kids exhausted from traveling feeling cranky or a group of folks trying to have a business meeting staring at me. So weird and cringey and awkward all around. The room in has plenty of outlets but is totally unsuited for getting work done; the desk is covered with a glass top that makes my laser mouse not work, and the chair is like a dining room chair and is way too low to get any work done at all. The mirror in my bathroom is somehow peeling from behind. Hotel decor feels extremely dated and drab. Shower was weak. Door to my room sticks so badly I would need to slam it - hard - with my shoulder to get it open, and I am 210 lbs and used to compete in powerlifting. If I wasn't a strong Marriott Bonvoy member, I would look for something else if this was my price range. read more

I was really happy with my stay at Sheraton West in MN. My check in was easy and they let me check in early. The server I had for breakfast, Mario, was extremely kind and made sure that I was happy with my food and gave me to go cups for my coffee which was very helpful! The room was very clean and spacious. There wasn't any natural light and since the pool is in the middle of the hotel, I could hear people swimming but those weren't too big of a deal. This hotel is close to a lot of shopping, restaurants and close to the highway. It also has a lot of parking! I am looking forward to coming back to this hotel for my next trip to MN. read more

Should be better than a 3 Star Rating. There's just some little things that added up to a lower rating. The good things.... bed was comfortable and the room was definitely updated and clean. The lobby was also fixed up and modernized. They added an outlet block to the bedside table so you can plug the in your toys and appliances, which are nice. With most of the rooms surrounding the pool it was surprisingly quiet (but one one was swimming either). Negatives... the hot tub was closed for repair (I know this stuff happens, but why not let you know before you check in, so you can either rebook or at least not be let down when you get there). The TV sucked. Not because it was small or poor picture, it was the everything else! No movie channels, on channel guide and a remote that was an antique! You literally had to press the button and wait for the channel to change. It took me like 10 minutes to scroll through the 40 or so channels to try to figure out what or where each network was. Total pain! Can only give this Sheraton an average rating. read more

Stayed 3 nights this past weekend to attend my cousins wedding. From the very start the room temp was 75 degrees and humid, called the front desk and they sent the maintenance man in who put his hand over the vent that was blowing out blatantly warm air. We were told it's working it just takes some time, in the mean time we were provided a fan and told to open the window (mind you the window opened MAYBE 3 inches and there was no screen....) Day 2: complained about allergies and the fact the room was still at 75 degrees, we were told the engineer would go look at it while we were gone. Came back, still hot. Day 3 complained again, and was told "yeah there's something going on with the air it's being repaired now." It never was repaired not working and there was a sign posted the AC won't come on until June. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous for over $300 I should be able to control the temperature to my liking. Now, because of having to have the window open I'm covered in bug bites which I told the guy about at checkout and he couldn't have cared less. Just ignored what I said and asked if I wanted my receipt printed or emailed. I was never offered another room, my guess is because the air didn't work period. I also witnessed other guests complain about this with the same lackadaisical "oh really, did you try cracking your window and using a fan?" There's also similar reviews on Google complaining about the heating/cooling situation. I'm posting pictures for reference so that he can seriously heed my warning and stay else where. read more

Beware of this property. I recently stayed two nights and on my last day I had breakfast which was comped, so I tipped the waitress $5.00. Two days later the folio had a $50.00 charge, so someone pulled a fast one. I called 4 times to speak to a manager and was told that they could not guarantee a return call. Odd, but I asked is she could take my number and name. She would not. I've since tried twice more but the manager is never available. My next step is to notify Marriott corporate but doubt anyone will respond. read more

I stayed here for a wedding, and it definitely did the trick. The bar service downstairs was super slow though. The suites are spacious and have a totally separate living space and bedroom, which is cool. I was also able to get late night snacks after the wedding, which hit the spot. read more

What you want is a comfy bed, and nicely furnished room; exactly what you get at this hotel. I travel quite a bit, about 100k miles a year. I have seen many hotels, and rooms, so I have perhaps seen it all. Looking at the outside of this hotel, it looks small, and walking in, it has an slightly older feel, however, the little things, like the internet terminals in the lobby, and room itself, help this property stand out. Most people don't care about anything, but the room; and the rooms here deliver on quality and feel. They don't any weird aromas, and the bed, is firm, yet comfortable. I was in a standard guest room, single king; and I was surprised by the 37+inch television in the room; included are two nice chairs, and a desk, with soft lighting lamps around the room. The only complaint, is the early hours the kitchen closes, I would rather have liked to see longer room service hours, but I guess it's not bad that there are restaurants nearby which are open later. I would definitely come back, but I'll be sure to eat out, if I'm working late. read more

UPDATE: I received quick response from GM Ted Trembath as to my frustrations during my stay. He was kind in explaining the heating/cooling situation (I'm still not sure it's the best system for optimal guest comfort but I do understand the efficiency need!) and addressed my concerns regarding the breakfast meal. I would plan to give the hotel another shot on my next visit and have upgraded 1 star (to 3 stars total) for the quick response from management. Review: Prior to the Marriott-Starwood merger, I believed Sheraton properties to be of decent quality. My last several stays have been less than sub-par. This stay solidified my frustrations. The bed was moderately comfortable and that's about the extent of my "comfort." My shower drain was broken and my thermostat was inaccurate, incapable of signaling the unit to cool the room. It was impossible to get anyone on the phone at the front desk at almost any time of day. Ultimately, I was able to message the chatbot on the app and received a response awhile later. They related that an engineer would attend to the issues in the morning. Whilst I was out with my clients the next morning, the engineer satisfactorily fixed the drain but neglected the thermostat. As I have difficulty sleeping, a cool area is a must. This was not to be as maintenance did not see fit to rectify the temperature issue. As for room service, the delivery was prompt and friendly but the food was not worth the price tag, with quality sorely lacking at the ingredient level. My comments are applicable only to the breakfast menu as I chose not to attempt lunch or dinner in-house. To say I am disappointed with a brand I once trusted with most of my travel accommodation, is a massive understatement. However, I must give due to Shannon at the front desk as she may have been the only bright spot of the hotel service, staff, and stay. Thank you for your kindness and concern for my experience. I appreciated your genuine interest in my frustrations. Conclusion: Looking like there's a lot more Hilton in my future. read more

Stayed here during a visit to Minneapolis for work and it was a pretty standard Sheraton. The check in process was easy and quick and the staff was very friendly. The room was standard, but it was more spacious than what I'm familiar with of Sheratons. My room was a double Queen, but there was plenty of space for activities. The bathroom was big, too. I got a free breakfast with the room rate I reserved and I had the option of either ordering from the menu or going to the buffet. I opted for the buffet and it was pretty standard. Eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon, fruit. The restaurant staff was nice and very accommodating. I'd stay here again if I'm back in the area. read more

I came to Sheraton Minneapolis today for a workshop in one of their ballrooms. I am a nursing mother, so I was hoping they would be able to accommodate my need to pump, and that I wouldn't be stuck in the bathroom or the car. I asked the front desk attendant if they had a small conference room I could use throughout the day. He set me up with Sue in sales who showed me to an empty conference room, and showed me how to lock the door while I was inside. I was pleased with their willingness to accommodate my needs. I was even more impressed when I actually went to use the room. Sue had the room set up with tables, nice comfortable leather chairs, and even a table with ice water. She had also affixed a sign to the door asking that people knock before entering. So thankful for a comfortable, private space to pump today. Thank you Sue! read more

Got this one for a good deal on one of the Internet booking sites last minute, like the plan for the trip. Over all a nice and clean hotel nice rooms and the service was good. I did not eat here so I know nothing about the restaurant. The inside does not match the outside at all. the layout is much different then we expected, and had some trouble finding our room. I would have to say it was a nice hotel, in a good location for what we were doing, I was going between 3 and 4 stars for this one, however there were a few minor thing that occurred that made me decide on the rating of three. Lastly my biggest pet peeve is why are you paying for intranet, at these big chains it feels like they are gouging you for that little bit extra in profits. In the end depending on the trip and price I could see us staying here again. read more

I visit MN once a month. I grew up in nearby Wayzata. Hotel is nice and clean. Very few amenities.. For the price I would expect an on site bar/restaurant. I stayed during Covid because prices were reasonable but I stopped the last few trips because the prices are ridiculous compared to nearby competitors. I now stay about a mile away for much less. A great place, closer to Wayzata and they have a great restaurant and bar. I always check pricing here first because my buddy lives right next door but it's a cavernous hotel. Last time I felt like my room was 4 blocks from the entrance. There is nothing special about it to justify the higher price. I am booking a trip this month and saw they are priced about $40% higher than a reputable chain right nearby. My new spot I use is about $20 or so a night less on my app and it has a big restaurant, bar and outdoor cabana bar. Until they adjust pricing I will never go back. They should be priced below the place I stay at now. There is no comparison. read more

I was here for a work event, and was pleasantly surprised with their updated guest rooms. Don't let the exterior (or lobby) fool you! As with almost all Starwoods, the beds are delightful. I'm not sure if these are the Heavenly beds or not, but I slept like a rock. Side note - they still have Starbuck's Africa Kitamu coffee! I've been here for 4 banquets where my wife has received an award. All four times, the experience has been great. The banquet rooms are clean and well staffed. The lighting and sound are both very good. Appetizers are always fresh and tasty; bartenders are knowledgeable and efficient. Food is great- I've had several choices, and when doing a banquet for 250+, things can go awry quickly. Never had that happn here. The food has always been hot, fresh and better than the "rubber chicken" typical banquet fare. Super cheerful banquet staff too. The location is nice and hidden a bit; the lobby interior is neat, especially at night. The rooms are on a few levels with the doors facing toward the common area. They should have said that at check in. My door didn't open and when I came back they were rude about it, John in particular. Finally they gave me a new room. Quiet, cozy, and quick access to the Ridgedale Mall. The rooms are quite large for a normal rate. In some cities, it would qualify as the "Extended Room." For work, this is an ideal location for me. The VIP Room is always supplied with goodies. I make multiple trips for the spicy trail mix, and the Server is always working their butt off during breakfast and happy hour. No cost for parking, and there's also plenty of it. I've been to the other Sheraton in Bloomington, and I'll never make that mistake again. read more

Had to stay here a couple of nights for work. The room was hot (because they wouldn't/couldn't allow switching to AC) so sleeping was rough. Front desk staff weren't helpful and seemed annoyed when I asked what could be done. The halls were noisy and you can hear pretty much all the rooms around you. Breakfast buffet had fresh fruit which was nice, but over priced. Our server Mario was awesome and thoughtful. It looks very nice when you walk in, but we will be staying somewhere else next time we are in the area. read more

I travel 500K miles a year mostly International, and found these rooms are extremely large with comfortable beds. What we liked was the bar! Cozy, quiet some nights and lively other nights. What surprised us was they offered local wines (and beers) including Wine Flights! We tried Minnesota Flight No. 1 that included 3 red blends including Cab Franc, Sangiovese, and a Zin. Craig worked the nights we were here and was pleasantly friendly and accommodating in answering our questions about the local brews. We'd order food in the bar for dinner and then relax after busy days - had an enjoyable 4 day getaway from our home in San Diego. Cheers. read more

Hotel is nice and clean. We did not eat there. Honestly this was the 2nd worst night in a hotel in my life. If they give you a key card for room 160 just walk away. The hotel has an open lobby space with all floors open to the lobby. Our room was on the first floor directly across from the only elevator. Essentially we were in the lobby and due to the lack of sound proofing had to listen as every guest in the hotel waited for the elevator up to their room all night long. And then again as breakfast was served right outside our door starting at 6am. Also this room is equipped with accessibility options for the shower including a wand but no shower head. read more

Funeral for the weekend. Needless to say it wasn't the best time. and of course I made the dumbest mistake of booking the wrong night to avoid the snowstorm when I was in northern MN. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a refund through hotels.com or Sheraton. Luckily, things turned around a bit. I got a good deal off hotels.com again but what tipped it over was the excellent service from Sara and another front desk staff (lady with brunette curly hair worked 2/17 morning). They helped make my stay a bit more relaxing and less stressful and I got a good night sleep to prepare for my full day trip home. Thank you Sheraton staff ! The hotel has a large parking lot and is right across the street from the mall, and near several very good restaurants. The inside of the hotel is very nice and has an inside circle of rooms that circle a restaurant and wireless lounge near the front desk at the ground floor. The view was great from the room, a really nice wooded area. Woke up to some bird watching. What killed it was the pool. At first I thought having the pool in the middle of the hotel was clever, but after dinner I found how horrible the idea was. Constant noise. People yelling, splashing, slamming doors into the night. 3 horrible nights of this. A nice hotel ruined by the obnoxious guests. Next time I'll book the Double Tree a few miles down. read more
