Went in to finally pay off a HELOC loan which started at 32K. I called the customer service number…read moreon the billing statement to get a payoff for the loan so I could walk in the door hand them a check and be done with this bank forever. Tired of the fees, the poor customer service and hearing the word no so many times in regards to my former checking accounts and home loans services. So, I am now typing this after trying to close out the account so guess what? I did not pay the loan off . When presenting the check the nice ladies at the counter double checked the payoff, which was of course different from the amount given to me just an hour before on their automated system. The automated system indicated the payoff amount and I had up to 10 days to pay it off before the payoff would be different. A drive was taken and off course all was incorrect for my troubles. My poor rating is not indicative of the ladies working at the bank today, their system and related information was poorly communicated and not accurate one building to another. They were nice and I was cranky with all of this. Not the first time. So I will try again tomorrow and leave all the numbered areas for payoff blank so I can pay and CLOSE OUT the ties that bind.
