Small differences can happen, but 20 degrees is unacceptable for a place that claims to be professional. Even then, I wasn't angry. The real nightmare started when I checked my glasses. I bought a handcrafted frame from Japan for more than $800 after tax--fragile, unique, and something I truly cherish. On the day they tried to "fix" their axis mistake, instead of handling it properly, they decided to bend my frame without my consent. Now it's distorted, misshapen, and looks awful. They brushed it off as a "small adjustment." How ridiculous! Who bends a fragile Japanese frame to fix an optical prescription error?! I'm devastated and deeply disappointed by the way they treat their customers. And yes--it was Dr. Rebecca, the same name that appears in many other one-star reviews. Also, after few rounds of communication, the clinic refused to admit their mistake, still saying their intention was good, and the issue was small. The most irresponsible clinic I've ever encountered. A complete joke.

She spent a long time talking about a variety of ocular diseases that had nothing to do with me and very little on my own personal health, making me feel like I was a student in a 200+ lecture room rather than a patient paying for individualised service. The cost for an eye exam was $140 for x-ray and glasses assessment , not including the substantial extra charge for a contact lens examination, which I decided to forego. I have to go back for another appointment because she misdiagnosed my right eye, giving me a weaker eyeglass prescription than my previous, which wasn't caught until the glasses had been paid for and made. Now I have to pay her another 50 dollars to correct her prescription because of the tiny fine print on it saying a re-consult is free within three months. I understand that optometry is not a cheap service, but it bothers me when my need for the service causes me to be taken advantage of. *Amendment: Dr. Lai generously waived the $50 fee to change my prescription, which is appreciated and demonstrates customer appreciation on her part. She chastised me for having taken so long to get if filled, though. She's a stern lady.
