Because of that, the experience has been even more distressful. There may be financial issues that have caused them to become so reluctant to return calls. The reason doesn't matter. It's not important to us any longer. It has now been 2 years since we used them, and the reason I waited until now was because we had been waiting for the military plaque to be installed after 2 years. At one point I was told "we have it and will be installing shortly". That, of course did not happen. The few times I was able to get through to a person to speak with I was told either, we are still waiting for it to come it, or it must be in a closet somewhere. How is that an acceptable response. We ended up calling the Veteran Administration to get this done in a matter of weeks. Before the incident with the military plaque, we had already had the headstone in place for the other 2 family members and just needed the engraving for the dates. That went on for over a year. My sister had to hunt down and find out who does engraving at that cemetery by calling headstone engravers in the area until she found someone did that cemetery. My sister even stopped by the funeral home more than once, no one answered. They do not return calls, have been inconsistent when we have been able to reach them and found after a long-term relationship, that we would be treated callously , was hard to understand. Whatever the reason, their line of work is to deal with people at the worst time of their lives, that is a special skill. One that appears they do not possess.

However, on the day of the funeral and cremation, we were notified by the company (at the crematorium) that they cannot proceed with the cremation because the proper paperwork as not received by the funeral home. Connie was the person placed in charge of processing our funeral as well as the paperwork. When we called Connie to ask what was happening, we were clearly in distress and Connie had raised her voice at us telling us she did not appreciate our tone. If a delay happened in your service for a member of your family, wouldn't you be distressed? Connie is an unfit candidate who can't handle frustrating situations. We are in further distress especially after how the funeral home and Connie had handled their jobs. There are so many other places to hold a funeral service, this is not even one you should consider.
