Stay away! Very unprofessional! I called to schedule a cleaning appointment with a new dentist in the area, which was originally set for November 1st at 4 PM. They never sent a reminder. When I called on Friday, a lady told me my appointment was actually on the 8th. I checked my calendar, called back, and another person confirmed it was indeed scheduled for the 1st. When I asked why they didn't notify me, he responded with, 'What do you want me to do?' I then requested an earlier appointment at 8, but he only offered 8:30. They were rude and unprofessional, with no reminders or follow-ups. No wonder they have so many bad reviews. They don't care about people. read more

I was completely terrified of dentists. I haven't been to the dentist in years due to my fear. The last dentist I went to told me I was going to die in 3 months because I had a cavity (true story). But when I arrived at Sherman Oaks Smiles, they slowly dissipated my fear. They reassured me everything will be okay and that they're here to make me feel at ease. The staff is wonderful! They do everything in their power to make you feel at ease. Not only that, but they tell you how it is. I had an unbelievable experience from beginning to end at Sherman Oaks Smiles. To be honest, I am the type that does not always go to the dentist on time because I have had bad experiences in the past. Dr. Pouldar and his assistants, including Wilmer really made me feel at home and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I took my elderly father here because they were his assigned dentist from his provider. He has some issues with his teeth and the dentist was judgmental saying he didn't have good hygiene. There are many reasons why people have problems with their teeth and as a dentist, I assume he would know that. They recommended a lot of procedures for my Dad and it seemed like his first visit was just an invitation to incur additional charges. There was no cleaning or any work done on the 1st visit. This place is a bunch of scam artists they will try to upsell you on emergency treatment you don't need!!!! Do not go here for the love of god! I had a wisdom tooth that was impacted and the gum got terribly inflamed and was causing me excruciating pain. I went in they said they would extract it and my insurance covered the extraction but they don't cover the bone graph that I "needed" I was in so much pain I just said yes get the tooth out and do what needs to be done. HOWEVER! I come to find out YOU DO NOT NEED BONE GRAPH FOR WISDOM TEETH! Only if you are getting an implant so I ended up paying 500 dollars for useless treatment. DONT GO HERE THEY ARE LIERS!! I can't believe I even let them do the procedure which was TRAUMATIC I need to get my other wisdom teeth extracted but too scared from the experience to do it read more
