This ethically corrupt place is everything wrong with modern dentistry Overtreat, overbill, and spend more time marketing to you and trying to sell you on medically UNNECESSARY things you don't need than treating you. Dr. Jamsheed and all the other dentists under him (including Dr. Safende) should be ASHAMED of themselves as medical providers and take a look in the mirror and reflect why their ethics gone down the drain in place of money. My experience: My teeth have generally been quite healthy over my life, I came in for their $79 cleaning special and wasn't sure what to expect. Got my X-rays done (the dental assistant was great!) and then I waited for the dentist. Dr. Safende comes and says I have no cavities, however I need: 1.) A deep cleaning 2.) To fix my overbite with a retainer/invisalign 3.) Bottom wisdom teeth removed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He doesn't ask me if I've ever had issues with my jaw, pressure or anything. Just immediately straight to the sales pitch of things no other dentist has ever told me that I needed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Total estimated cost $12,000+. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During my visit I was introduced to 6 employees, (4 of which were there to sell me, baffling) Basically high pressure sales tactics done poorly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yeah sure I "need" all of those things. Good thing I have dentists in the family who provided a second opinion and negate all the things that I "needed" to get done. The complete lack of ethics, the sales and marketing pushes to over treat are unfortunately common in modern dentistry. I feel awful that the other patients here are getting scammed and they are so unaware. It is very hard to find a trustworthy dentist, and trust me you will NOT find one here. read more

This place was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. Please be careful before trusting them with major dental work. The overall experience I had was closer to a scam business than that of an ethical medical practice, to put it shortly. I originally came in for cavities that were completely salvageable. Within less than two months of going to endless appointments every week, I was left in constant pain, dealing with infections, unstable temporary work, and now facing close to $20k in corrective treatment from another specialist. Without proper authorization, they began FOUR root canals on me. My current specialist later explained that only one -- possibly two -- may have actually needed root canals. The others could likely have been treated conservatively with fillings. The temporary fillings were poorly done and failed quickly. One tooth deteriorated so badly it may now need extraction. Meanwhile, I was repeatedly told insurance authorizations were "pending," while requests were either submitted incorrectly, for the wrong teeth, or didn't match procedures already started in my mouth. I spent weeks in severe pain, on antibiotics and ibuprofen around the clock, while trying to work and care for my daughter. What disturbed me most was the lack of urgency or accountability despite repeatedly explaining how serious the pain and complications had become. Once I started questioning the insurance discrepancies and failed treatment, communication became inconsistent and eventually stopped altogether. Dr. Amir never once personally checked on me or evaluated what was happening throughout my treatment. I trusted this clinic because of the reviews, but my experience became physically painful, emotionally exhausting, and financially devastating. It was not just my dental health that deteriorated under their care, but also my overall health. Please get a second or third opinion before consenting to this office to perform work on your teeth (I had no issues with the dental hygienist, Jordan- he was wonderful and did a great job). If for some bizarre reason you still choose to get treatment there, Ask for a physical copy of your treatment plan BEFORE they start, and compare it to other doctors' suggested treatment. Ask plenty of questions, do not allow them to rush you through billing/treatment rundown. Prepare yourself to advocate for yourself. I would suggest staying far away from this place. Refer to photo below: the top teeth show the work done at this clinic, including uneven/sloppy root canal work and deteriorating temporary fillings. The office is STUNNING. Front Desk staff are kind. Nayelli was amazing. Olivia was terrific as my dental hygienist.  BUT it was a very LONG appointment and they just want to upsell. I got there at 11:45am and did not leave until 1:55pm. I ONLY met Dr. Amir. He did nothing for me. I booked an appointment for Dr. Amir, not to just have him introduce himself. I am used to my dentist doing my cleaning and the scraping. After Nayelli did my x-rays, Dr. Sam came in and then examined my teeth to tell me that apparently my teeth weren't aligned, I have an overbite and I need to fix it before it gets worse, in the future. He then suggested that I should get the Candid aligners. They would have to shave a bit of my teeth to create space. Mind you, I have NEVER ever heard I needed braces nor anything about my teeth.  Then Elina comes in and tells you about the payment plan. She then continues to push that I should check my credit to see if I would be approved. Mind you, it is $4,000 for the aligners. And I should get the Cherry payment that will have me paying $330. I said, that's a car payment. i'm good. Of course, my teeth are good and I didn't need anything else but my cleaning. I asked, will I be receiving my dental cleaning today? Their response was odd, if I want or set another appointment to have them clean. Why would I schedule it when I am literally here for my cleaning? So, that was a whole hour ordeal because they push products. I am here as a new patient and for my cleaning and x-rays only. This was not how I wanted to spend my 2 hours and 10 minute of my life. This should have taken a max of an hour, maybe 1 and a half hours. Also, just find street parking. Because parking is $2 every 15 minutes. I am not happy that I had to spend $12 for parking when it could have been free if they chose to not push products and have me meeting half the office. read more

BEWARE! FRAUDULENT!!! Worst experience I have ever had with a dentist! This was my first time coming to this office. I chose them based on Yelp reviews and because my longtime dentist of 30+ years retired, so I was trying to find someone closer who accepted my insurance. I went in for a routine cleaning and minor tooth sensitivity (as noted in my own handwriting). I was NOT in pain. After extensive x-rays, I was told I had a cracked tooth and urgently needed a root canal. I was also told the specialist wouldn't be available for a couple of weeks, and that I needed to do an "open and med" immediately to avoid infection. That turned out not to be true. I told them I had an appointment I didn't want to miss and could come back later. (Again--if I was truly in urgent pain, that wouldn't even make sense.) I returned and proceeded with the open & med. Before the procedure, I had already been numbed by Dr. George. Then Dr. Amir came in and performed a cold test, asking me, "You don't feel that?" I told him, "No--but I'm numb. Could that be why?" He dismissed that concern. Pictured: To cover his butt this is the lie they used "patient was in "so much pain" that I refused cold test treatment--which is completely untrue and contradicts what actually happened. I also specifically asked: if I'm numb and can't feel the test, how do you know you're treating the correct tooth? He downplayed it and said they could tell from the x-rays. That didn't sit right with me. Immediately after the 1-hour procedure, while checking out, the receptionist asked if I wanted to schedule my root canal. I asked, "So you know when the specialist will be in?" She said, "Yes, he'll be in Saturday." Saturday. This was Tuesday. Just 4 days later. ‍ I was livid. I had asked multiple times before agreeing to the procedure when the specialist would be available and was told "a couple of weeks." Now suddenly it was just days away? So in the hour it took to do the procedure, the timeline completely changed? I felt completely deceived--because had I been given accurate information, I would have simply waited and avoided this altogether. And it gets worse. This unnecessary procedure caused severe pain--far worse than anything I came in with. I had to go back the next day just to have the doctor adjust my bite (shaving down the tooth) to get me through until the root canal. Since then, three independent dentists have reviewed my original x-rays and confirmed there was NO crack and no reason for a root canal at all. ALL of this for INSURANCE money - SHAME on you all! I am still dealing with discomfort from this. I trusted the Yelp reviews when choosing this office, so I feel a responsibility to share my experience. You have the right to request your records--including the clinical notes, diagnostic rationale, and what is being submitted to your insurance to justify treatment. Make sure what's documented reflects your actual condition and experience. Please ask questions, get a second opinion, and trust your instincts. read more

I first spoke with Parisa (Dr. Amir's wife), and although I was definitely overwhelmed and not at my best when I called, she handled everything with so much kindness and patience. T-24 hours before a trip to Mexico and my darn temporary crown falls off AND breaks. What do I do? Google "emergency dentist" and pray for the best. Well, it seems I got real lucky because I found Encino Dental Studio. Within 20 mins of my call, the dentist is ready to make me a new crown from the old one and put it back into place for a reasonable price. Everyone was beyond kind and nice, and made an otherwise stressful experience something pleasant. Considering it's Sunday and only a few days from Xmas, I thought it'd be impossible to get care, but I was wrong.
