I was browsing as my sister was bringing things for consignment and wish I knew about this place prior to some of the purchases I made for her kids. Great prices, brands and variety -I was so pleasantly surprised because it's not a "huge" store. The place is very organized and tidy, makes it easy to to browse or simply run in and find the exact size you might be looking for. Seriously though, the place is super welcoming and patient with nerds of all types. Whether you're dipping your toes into nerd culture or want to dive in face first, they've had an answer and anecdote for nearly every geeky genre that has ever pique a nerd's interest. Since the store changed ownership several years ago, my kids (who live 1.5 blocks away) have constantly been met with rude employees, casting judgement on them as children. I will no longer allow my kids to go to this store in any location. They have been told, even with their older brother looking after them, that they are not welcome. And that they couldn't purchase a lego set advertised for a certain older age group. How unbelievably rude? I mean are you kidding me? Those age limits are not there due to sensitivity reasons for younger kids, but as a guide - we should be encouraging younger kids to buy older sets. Currently, you have a bunch of employees who make children feel un-welcome. I will continue to tell my kids to go to walgreens instead. Thank you very much. This kind of dismissive behavior isn't uncommon in comic book shops. Having been a regular reader for years, I can confidently say there's a certain hipster element embedded in comic culture that lacks the self-awareness that the "better-than-you" attitude is a dime a dozen. I place my weekly pulls with Casablanca Comics, where the staff are not only enjoyable to talk with, but actually remember your name and want to help. This shouldn't discount the efforts of the other, surely more personable employees--nor at least a visit or two to check out their selection--but it definitely detracts from any kind of regular patronage.
