All that I can say is WOW. This was literally one of the most (if not the most) unprofessional/ undesirable experiences that I have ever had. Literally.
I was assured that the owner was both a veteran and extension specialist- w/ over 10 years of experience. She removed a previous install of extensions where the color/color correction/placement were also a disaster-assured me that I would LOVE my new look...that it would be done correctly this time & acted appalled at the previous work.
She then had me secure my appointment w/ a massive deposit (1/2 of cost), and we all know these things are NOT CHEAP. They were a gift from my fiancé & a resolution to many years of medical setbacks/damage to my natural hair- surgeries/heavy medications.
My install appt was changed twice after getting the deposit from me. I was then told that she was going to Seattle & wouldn't return until 03/01/22. My install would be after that now. Then suddenly my appt got moved up to a Sunday though, & she was opening "just for me".
Got to admit though I was grateful and excited. Had a pleasant install, as well. To be honest... and fair.
Left happy and confident.
Until I realized the very next day post install that the color she used to chemically alter some of the extensions (my natural hair is both blonde and dark brown) was literally washing off into my shower water & my blonde extensions were now gray/purple. Damaged & looked awful. Just awful. The demi permanent color used was literally bleeding off... this was already a big no- no apparently though.
I immediately reached out to her & received a 4 minute total phone call. She asked me to provide more pics when it was fully dry. She was now leaving the next day to go out of town. I offered to be super patient & just have a removal (tape in extensions) until she got back. A few hours later I began to get multiple ways texted to me instead to "fix" this massive color disaster.
I refused to use the stripping color treatment she proposed as it would cause further damage. Then just waiting it out w/multiple shampoos was suggested... Next purchasing & using some gold color color depositing shampoo was suggested.
I absolutely cringed & still politely asked for a removal again -twice- and now by written text. I was accused of never requesting this at all- was then called multiple times after 9:30 at night stating that she was on the way to the salon & would now remove them for me.
I was told in a random voicemail to head up there... after 6 hrs of messages & pictures exchanged mind you. I couldn't make it up there that late. I'm pretty sure that was intentional now. Not to mention just completely odd.
After an enormous amount of messages & images provided... not one apology was ever given (still hadn't been), and I literally had to BEG for an appt today (03/01/22)... 9 days later of walking around like this- to get a refund. I had to now return this hair (pictured) first... AND also pay for someone to remove it, as well. AND was given less than 12 hours to make it happen if I wanted my money back.... Until 6:00 p.m. this evening.
Is she now planning on using this both cut and colored-DAMAGED- hair on someone else , perhaps? No idea.
Upon professional, paid removal I was shown how horribly they were placed. . in the back/tops/sides. I was shown how irritated my scalp was from the tension displacement/heaviness of the also incorrect type of technique used on my short/thin hair... & it was confirmed that the hair had multiple/uneven colors.... was badly damaged. Along w/being placed incorrectly w/ the blonde and dark strands taped together... you name it... it happened.
BUT fortunately no further damage occurred- w/ any of the ever changing suggestions given to me- never being executed.
I returned the hair & products this evening in one of the most oddly orchestrated exchanges ever.. as her husband and one year old child waited about 10 ft away from us in the hallway the entire time (private suite rental @Phoenix Suites) -Posted up as though he was maybe body-guarding... There to intimidate me maybe?
The hair (bag) was never even checked, & I was verbally assured that I would get a refund through Square afterwards... I, of course, requested a screenshot/proof before leaving. She insisted that it was emailed... then finally texted it to me. The email has still yet to be received nearly 2 hours later either mind you. And I was only refunded for the hair/products/install... not the generous tip of course- & not for the additional expense of the removal/tip that I paid today.
I had to literally pay for someone to remove this absolute and unhealthy nonsense from my head that she installed. Not to mention that my natural hair is also pictured here- literally broken off & stuck to the taped part of the extensions. I was told that my hair would have probably ended up about 2 inches long all around if left on for too, too much longer...Unbelievable. Had to share. read more
