The have a huge amount of tile to choose from as well. Their store is quite big so you can see a lot of the samples in-person and not in a catalogue. After a referral from a friend, I contacted AB Countertops to purchase a bathroom vanity countertop and a small piece for the top of a shower curb. (and mount a sink I provided under the counter). I was asked for the measurements (which I thought strange as there can be all kinds of things custom to each install - i.,e. wall corners not 90 degrees, etc.) While the timelines discussed seemed a bit slow, I realize that ours was just one countertop as opposed to a whole house job. After a call from the salesperson that the countertop was ready, I went to the shop facility to pick up. (no info as to who to see on site) after finally finding someone, they said it will be a few minutes. Then, I could see a worker gluing the sink to the counter (so it was hardly ready to pick up). When this was done, I took the unit home. The sink was poorly attached to the counter - I had to silicone some gaps and was worried that it may fall off when installed on the vanity. Visually, it is acceptable. The shower curb top: I made the measurements my self, and messed up and measured 2" to narrow. Fine, my fault. I tried to contact the salesperson I dealt with 12+ times via email, text and received only one response - that they were busy due to illness; nothing after that. If you don't want to or can't do the work, just tell me, but to not even reply is rude! I finally got a small piece from another granite company, and would recommend them. Stay away from AB Countertops is my advice.

This is a really tough place for me to review. In the past, when I've needed specific bolts for…read morespecific projects, Fastenal has been there for me. For example, when installing a racing harness in a car, you need a specific grade of hardware to install it and nobody else carried them in town. I was able to buy a handful of the bolts I required and the service was great. I had needed about 10 bolts so I headed to Fastenal to see if they could help as they had been excellent in the past. When I walked in the store, I was greeted by a sign saying that they no longer sell to the public. So without a business and without starting an account, you can no longer purchase anything from them. I do own a small business (which is totally unrelated to what I needed to purchase) but I figured, why not? Then the employee said they no longer sell individual bolts and I would have to buy a box of 50 or 100. Since I needed two different types of bolts and only about 5 each, obviously this wouldn't make sense for me. So I walked out pretty disappointed. Obviously retail sales from individuals would not make up a strong percentage of their sales and I understand that. It's probably more trouble than its worth to sell bolts piece by piece rather than by the box, so I get that too. But it's disappointing nonetheless.

I had been seeking out a certain patio deck set for my rooftop deck that was supposed to be in stock in all of the Rona's. With more than one in quantity. NONE were available. However, not only were none available but the staff would look it up and say they were, but not, but be like don't worry we will get more in this week. Each store I travelled to it was the same issue. Multiple in stock to no avail. When we arrived at the service desk in the south end, Marcello not only provided great service but went above and beyond and took a lot of time and work out of his day to get me the unit I was looking for and have it lifted from a top shelf and pallet into my truck. The store is small but it's well stocked. I was welcomed as I went in and a sales assistant came to help me out. I advised I needed a primer and a nice robust white for the finish. They recommended a few things and also Melamine for the top as it is best for surfaces that will require cleaning. It doesn't chip and you can even scrub it! So impressed. The prices are a little higher but the quality and service seems worth it. The assistant even carried the paint to my car for me!

Thomas Skinner is kind hit and miss. I know people who won't deal with them. I know people who do…read moredeal almost exclusively with them. I am rather impressed with their service when you walk in to order tools. They have always been helpful. I've even had their receptionist take my order when the parts people were swamped! Now thats good service. My only complaint would be that the parts people don't really know what they're talking about all the time (but they're competitors are exacly the same). So do your research and bring in the part #s your looking for. Their prices are usually pretty good, or at least on par with their competitors. But they do need to improve their machine sales and service. They don't give you (or they don't know) all of the information. There was three mistakes and hardships with the last machine order I've been a part of. That causes friction when you are dealing with six figures. From my experience, only some of their service people are good at what they do. I've had one guy cause more damage when he "fixed" a machine. But they admitted their mistake and fixed the problem at no cost.
