Wife asked a staff member for help finding a product; response was "I can show you some back at my place..". Not a big deal, the world is full of creeps, she went to Rona instead. But I encouraged her to call the store to pass some feedback along, at least let them know they this guy isn't doing them any favors. I have been to the store about four times in the last two days and always found what I was looking for and there was staff to help me when I needed. Everybody knew which aisle to send me to for what I wanted, or took me there in person. I do believe the staff make the store. The store is so big and there is such a variety of goods that it would be very hard to find something without help. Maybe I'm missing something, but I would suggest that it should be possible to have a store inventory with locations available online so that I could find stuff myself with my smartphone. read more

Garden Center is almost fully open and it's looking great! There's berries bushes, rose bushes, apple and pear trees and so much more. This location is quiet and clean. You might wait a while before getting help though - staff seems to be light here. You'll find any home supply or tool here. read more

My daughter and I stood around for 15 mins waiting for help AFTER contacting three different employees wandering by who said they were not from "that" department but would find someone. No one ever showed up. We finally left. Finding someone to help is almost impossible at times. Just yesterday I drove a long way to go into the store at 9pm - based upon the information on this site it was supposed to be open until 10pm - and found it closed. Is it so difficult that they can't be bothered to change their hours of operation on the website so this doesn't happened? And they're not the only ones that fail to do this. read more

I've been to many Home Depots, Canada and USA. Every store I've been in help came right to me. It was hard to get help in this store. The staff would walk by fast and look the other way, or they were busy chatting with themselves. One guy walked past us 3X in three different locations, like he was doing laps around the store, never once asking if we needed assistance. I've never been in a Home Depot where I've not been approached by staff wanting to help. I ended up breaking up a conversation to get help... Good thing there is more than one Home Depot in Edmonton. read more

I popped in for a specific light bulb yesterday and being the clueless lightbulb noob that I am, I brought my old one with me with the intent of asking for some good ol' customer service. I was not greeted when I walked in even though I walked past some chatting employees and I had to flag down someone before I could even ask for help. The girl who I asked had red hair and glasses and seemed so put off by me interrupting her doing nothing. I was polite and asked if she could help me find the specific bulb, showed her the burnt out one, and was told "their in this aisle, you can open the boxes and look yourself" It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced and will not be back. To be told in a condescending tone that I can open up the packages and look myself??? What are they even paying their employees for? I was so shocked and disappointed and offended that it took me a good ten minutes to open enough bulb boxes to find the right one and get out of there! I will drive to any other Home Depot from here on out. read more

Yup, this is a pretty darn good Home Depot. I popped in with Patrick C because he needed some DIY faucet fixtures, so I just wandered around. I found some really lovely flowers (on sale!), gardening equipment, really nice patio furniture including really great plastic Adirondack chairs for $19.97! That's crazy cheap. The store was clean. Lots of staff to answer questions. The checkout girl was friendly. Oh and I was impressed by the size of the cleaning supplies isle. With a ton of parking out front, a McDonald's and BP's in the parking lot and a big new Shoppers DM beside it, it's a great one-stop-shop for those Sunday afternoon Honey-Do list days. Oh, and the coolest part, I saw the guy who dresses up like Davey Crockett roaming the parking lot!! Too cool! read more

They are a mess! I ordered carpeting, they advertise they install, they came to measure, cut the carpet then told me they would not install it because it WAS NOT CLEAN, SANITARY! Tried calling the store, got disconnected, frustration. WHY DO THEY ADVERTISE WHAT THEY WILL NOT DO? They are a huge headache. The help are really very nice and try hard to assist you but the overall productivity of the store is a mess. read more

After a convoluted chain of events, I ended up with a non-functioning key that was cut from a base key that was too thick (not cut at Home Depot), and missing the original key. After the original place that gave me the bad key turned out to be closed during their supposed normal operating hours, and another nearby key cutting place outright refused to attempt to cut a key without the original (in spite of me being clear that I would not hold them responsible or seek a refund if it didn't work), I asked one of my employees to go to Home Depot. They cut a thinner key without a fuss, which didn't quite work. Round two, they cut another key that worked, and they did it for free and would not let us pay for it even though we said the first key not working wasn't their fault. They even drew a smiley face on the key bag! :) Well done Home Depot, you really bailed us out! read more

Maybe I'm going at a wrong time (5pm) and not getting the same staff as these other reviewers, but every time I'm in here I get the ole "It's in isle 11." type treatment. Still means I end up going down the whole isle trying to find what I'm looking for. Ok, so I don't own a house but I still hang pictures on my walls and fix stuff around my apartment. The selection in here is great as well as the prices so no complaints there. read more

We come here every time we need something for the home as it's the closest to us. When we come we never have a problem finding what we need and there's always friendly staff to help us out and make great recommendations to save us money. This year I decided to try for the first time to do a balcony garden. The green house is great with a wide variety of plants and supplies and at very reasonable prices. I purchased an orchid there and the next day green spots showed up and it didn't look good. I went in and asked someone about it and she said to wait a week to see if it got any better. Well a week later it was worse. I took it back and even though I didn't have my receipt I had no issues at all getting a replacement. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing i'd say is sometimes they don't have all the supplies I need and I wish they had more variety in flower pots in store. I wanted to get some bamboo stocks and stones for a vase and they had the bamboo but no stones. But that's being picky. Great customer service. Way better than Walmart next door. read more

I like this Home Depot because it's not too far from where I live, it's not as busy as the one on 174 St, 99 Ave, and the store is neater, cleaner, and better organized than most other Home Depots in Edmonton. I like going there for the plants and other nic-nacs for the house. The people are usually helpful there. Parking is good too. read more

My closest hardware store. Staff is usually pretty knowledgeable, but I did have an experience trying to hook up a dishwasher where the plumbing employee didn't know what parts I needed, and couldn't find them. The southside HD employee had to help me with that. It's kind of a small store, so makes sure you know what you want, and check if they have it in stock before you go. They didn't have everything I needed for a project. When calling, I've spent too much time on hold (10+min) waiting for an associate before. I got a new associate in the kitchen area, who wasted a bunch of my time because she didn't know what she was doing. Saving graces: Sheila - kitchen and bath. Very knowledgeable. Very excited to help with your project. Gives you ideas. Probably the reason I keep going back. A man in appliances - very nice. Helped me a few times. A woman in blinds - also very nice. so here i decided to write my story with the store . so couple of months ago i decided to do my home shingles through home depot installation since they were advertising about that buy now and pay over a year, so i went there and they told me that i need to get a 2 thousand dollar credit card from them in order to pay monthly ,so i did ,and so we signed the contract and my shingles was done in like 1 day . a month after that i went to do the monthly payment which it was supposed to be 800$ but found out instead that they did not charge my credit card so i checked after couple days and still nothing .i thought maybe they will send me an invoice or something like that so i know whats going on .but stll nothing .. 3 month later received a call from them saying that i need to pay the full amount of the money because my credit card had only 2 thousand dollar limit on it while the cost of the shingles and installation exceeded 9 thousand dollar. i know it sounds like its my fault but nooooo, wait ,so back before i signed the contract all I've been told was" like here how much it gonna cost you and thats what you need to do".and now,what the hell is that !!!! why would you sell me something if you are not sure how I'm paying for it ,,even if the contract says 12 monthly payment and signed by your representative !! this is ridiculous , now I'm struggling trying to collect the money before january the 4th. I've been told to take them to court ,but you know what ! I'm doing something else instead ,i will make sure to write reviews about them everywhere i could and will make sure to mention my story with your store to all my friends , family and neighbours so they would learn from somebody's mistake and go with canadian companies instead. thanks a lot " more saving more doing " read more
