Probandt is an old warehouse and the goods are presented in a commensurate fashion, making it kind of a dump to go to. BUT it is very large and they have a lot of items. The Walzam Rd location is smaller, more store-like and a lot cleaner. Selection is similar but my impression is of smaller quantities and more limited selection. They both carry a wide range of construction and household materials, whether reclaimed from remodels or demolitions, or closeouts, seconds and scratch-and-dent. They also have a lot of paints, much of which is "evolve", a brand that keeps excess project or returned paint from being senselessly dumped in landfills. Prices are better than the building materials stores, but you still need to know what a good price is, as some of the smaller household goods can be found for less elsewhere (mainly online). But bargains are to be found if you don't mind spending time browsing. I suggest coming prepared with a complete list of what you might need, so you come away with what you really want at a price that suits you. All of that said, remember that this is a thrift store for Habitat for Humanity, a very good organization that makes affordable housing available for low income people. So anything you buy supports a great cause. I would have rated this 3-stars, but the nature of what their main focus is caused me to make it 4-stars since the dollars you spend here contributes to helping people in need.

I said, "no it's for making 'pocket holes'". After trying to help him understand what a pocket hole was he the proceeded to yell at me saying "we don't sell the damn jig" Really rude and really unprofessional. I was greeted by a very nice woman who was an employee there her name was Diana she was very helpful and the owner Alejandra was very nice and helpful as well. I fell in love with these hand painted portraits that they had . Unfortunately they didn't have one that was for my job but amazingly the owner took down my name and number after asking me what I had wanted and even offered if I wanted certain colors on it. Not even a full week passed by and they called to tell me my portrait was in. I was very impressed with the timely manner they got it to me and overall the service the provided . After coming to pick it up I also bought a very nice and cute nativity scene. I made sure to tell them I'd be back very soon maybe to even order 1 or 2 more portraits for my favorite coworkers haha! Sean and his crew did a fantastic job painting the exterior of my home, and at a reasonable price…read more They very carefully cleaned, caulked and repaired the woodwork and stucco. They hand-rolled and brushed two coats of paint with high precision and no drips. They showed up every day until the job was done. They took care of their own trash, used their own porta-potty onsite, and had a brilliant system for safely climbing on my metal roof. This was a challenging job and they completed it in the time-frame promised while even doing some extra things I did not expect such as cleaning the foundation and driveway. I could not be happier. Before I hired Sean I solicited quotes from several other companies but only Sean explained his approach in detail and pointed out important aspects about the house that other contractors missed. And throughout the duration of the job, Sean constantly checked with me about the quality of his work. I would definitely hire him and his team again.
