Cute little farm store with lots of the basics for produce veggies, some tasty baked breads, yogurt, butter, eggs, ice cream, and fruits. For people who don't need an entire bag of potatoes or veggies, you can just get it by the pound.

It's a scary place. They should sell coffee and let good people interested in the food, not the monster, Tom Sherwood, be cool.

A rustic gem from the past; go for the farm fresh eggs, nitrate-free bacon, dairy & vegetables in season. Check out the barnyard.

In October you can find tons of different pumpkins and in the winter they also sell Christmas trees.

There were lots of greens for wreathes... And somewhere emu? Must be summer attractions. But for winter, half the store was filled with cute items made in China. The other half had fruit and baked goods. The donuts are famous for a reason, caked with sugar and they stayed fresh for several days. My favorite part was the flavored milk. Mint, eggnog, of course chocolate..... Yum. Give a good shake and enjoy!

Parking was plentiful across the road, and a tractor ride is required to get up to the apple trees, which was fun for kids. They only had two types of apples available (McIntosh and Gala), along with the last of their peaches. The apples closest to the drop-off point didn't look great, but the trees further up the slope had much better-looking fruit, likely because the slope deterred pickers. The store was stocked with fresh baked goods and, of course, apple cider donuts. There's also an animal farm on-site, which costs extra for big kids and adults (I believe it's free for kids under three). Overall, it was an okay experience. The limited apple selection and condition of some of the trees were a bit disappointing, but the tractor ride and fresh baked goods added some charm. I'd recommend going later in the season for a better variety and quality of apples.

"Well, I'm running Police on my back…read moreI've been running Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday" (The Clash) Well, if you want to run over to the Westport Farmer's Market, be advised that the only day of the week you can do this is Thursday. That's all. Just Thursday. Despite today's Thursday drizzle, we did just that and spent an hour or so wandering around the grounds, chatting with the vendors, enjoying the live music, and everything else you do at a Farmer's Market. It's a good-sized market with plenty of space in its aisles and between booths. We saw a big choice of fruit and vegetable stands, meat, dairy, poultry and seafood vendors, plenty of food vendors, and even a few adult beverage booths. The Parlor pizza and Nit Noi Asian food stations were among the busiest vendors. We stopped at Nit Noi and picked up a frozen bag of shrimp dumplings ($16) and a jar of soy chili oil ($5). PRO TIP The Market is located pretty close to the Saugatuck River, and if you explore the grounds you'll find a footbridge that crosses the river and a walking path that follows the river, So if you gorge yourself on Farmer's Market pizza and ice cream, you can walk it off to some degree.

I appreciate that they've added select Saturday dates recently, as it's helpful for those of us working during their usual Thursday hours. My favorite vendor is Riverbank Farm, which offers delicious produce and prepared foods. I was slightly disappointed to find that their winter prepared foods are currently sold frozen, as it altered the texture and taste a bit. We picked up the classic hummus, a carrot sage hummus, pesto, vegetarian borscht, and carrots. The hummuses took about six hours to defrost at room temperature, while the borscht took a full 24 hours and was still a bit icy on top. Both hummuses were great as per usual; I preferred the flavor profile of the classic, which features garlic scapes, while two family members preferred the carrot sage. The pesto was quite oily, so it paired very well with pasta, though it did congeal once it went back in the fridge and required time to sit out again the next day. Similarly, the regular hummus hardened a bit overnight. The borscht wasn't our favorite, but I think that may have been due to the frozen-and-unfrozen nature of the dish. The carrots were delicious! We also enjoyed a vegetable quesadilla from Boxcar Cantina, which came with pico de gallo and avocado slices. The vegetables were fresh and the flavor was yummy, although it wouldn't be my first choice from their menu. While it had a solid amount of vegetables, I would have preferred more, as the edges were either plain or just cheese. We'll definitely keep coming back!

There are a lot of additional vendors this year that make the Wilton Farmers Market a one stop shop. Our favorite vendors are Veronica's Garden for no-pesticide fruits and veggies, Saint x Specialty Food for delicious bread, pesto, and fresh mozzarella, Ideal Fish for fresh fish and yummy spices, and The Hickories for currants, strawberries, tomatoes, etc. We also like Ambler Farm for a larger variety of different fruits and veggies. For prepared food, Jeff's BBQ is amazing! We've even had Jeff cater an event for us in the past. I love their Memphis ribs and mac and cheese, but everything they offer is delicious! While Prospector Theater isn't always there, when they are, I always get a few bags of their delicious and unique popcorn. You can also get a lobster roll and raw shellfish from Community Shellfish. Once, I saw the Cousins Maine food truck serving various lobster rolls and similar products. I never leave without some Bubble & Brew passionfruit peach bubble tea. It's different than bubble tea shops like Whale Tea, but it's unique and delicious. There are a lot of other vendors I haven't mentioned that sell meat, eggs, bread, dumplings, cookies, coffee, honey, handmade jewelry, lifestyle products, knick knacks, eco-friendly products, art, cutlery, flowers, clothing, cutting boards, and so much more. In comparison to the Westport Farmers Market, I prefer the location of the Wilton one, because of how scenic and beautiful it is. The lines also tend to be longer in Westport, so Wilton is more enjoyable for me. The only thing I wish Wilton had was Seacoast Mushrooms. The Wilton Farmers Market is definitely worthy of a visit on Wednesdays from 12-5pm.
