What a fun place to get dressed up and just look around and be entertained. Weather plays a big part in how comfortable you are so check the weather. There's always shows and entertainment and the seating is under the shade. You can check out Robin Hood's live action, knights in jousting and people competing in archery. You can also try your hand at archery yourself. $5 for 5 arrows. We got a whole turkey leg for around $20, lamb kabobs for $18. Parking was free. I'm not sure how much the entrance fee was. We got cigars and smoked them with pirates for $10. Lots of little things to do and listen to including musicians. Fun day for the family, date or with friends. It's about an hour from S. Austin.

I'm positively surprise with the food quality at the fairs. The price is insanely expensive, which is expected at a faire, but the quality is very decent

If you like cool people, great shops/food selection, and just a fun time in general, I recommend you visit this place! Compared to TRF it didn't feel nearly as packed. It was spacious and I thought the shops were a bit more interesting and open. Highly recommend if you like dressing up and exploring the forest!

There is always a good time to be had at the Sherwood Forest Faire. The customer service has been delightful every single time I've been going. So far, I've gone three times. My favorite aspects of these events are the live music because of the unique assortment of voices and instruments that are played. Their jewelry vendors have really unique pieces, things you can't really buy anywhere else. I also go here every year just for the perfume selections. The food is a little pricey, so if budget is a concern, eat a very large breakfast in the morning and you should be OK !

Family friendly shoot all the family, this one shows th different animals and is very interactive

Th Sherwood Forest Faire is a great day out for all the family. There's something for everyone with a variety of shops, unique foods, lots of parades and shows and people from all walks of life decorated in traditional outfits. So much fun

An absolute blast! Make sure you show up all dressed up and ready to buy all the trinkets and try lots of good food! Lots of parking but does tend to get busy/crowded on the weekends. Great for all ages and tickets are reasonably priced. Food is a little pricey, as well as the games and various wares but worth it.

Amazing and awesome faire! I have been twice so far, with theme costume and without. Regardless we had a great experience.

We had a pretty nice day visiting the Faire overall. Lots of entertainment for sure. But, for the volume of people inside the grounds, there are too few "privies" and especially, the running water sort. Way too few water, soda and beverage stands which led to extremely long lines and temperatures did rise this weekend. And as previous reviewers have stated, prices are exorbitant, and requests for tips makes it even more expensive. Nice for a change but pricey.

This is my third time attending the Sherwood Forest Faire and it never disappoints! I love a good show with a mead and turkey leg in both hands. Daphne and Cookie's laundry show are a must see- they're hilarious and very interactive. Food prices have definitely gone up since last year. $18 for a turkey leg is bananas but it's a staple so I had to get one.

Our family had a great time attending the Sherwood Forest faire. There is truly something for everyone. Different shows and events are happening constantly and upon entry they provide you a schedule of events which makes it easy to figure out where to go when. Lots of food and drink options as well. We had no issue getting in but ended up leaving after a couple hours due to nap schedule, it was a zoo of people trying to get in around noon. So I would highly recommend just showing up when they open to avoid the madness. Definitely will be back next year

Iv waited over 10yrs for a Turkey leg and to come to one of these. I ABSOLUTELY had the BEST TIME now i know why i need to bring my ENTIRE bank account with me to enjoy more fun and next time I MUST come camping for a weekend. I ow SO MUCH of my happiness to the ppl working this event. First was the turkey-leg-guy SHOUT-out!! I dont remember any names but i made so many memories from getting my hair braided to getting a COMPLETE OUTFIT and everyone whom helped stuff me into my green outfit was so amusing to share the experience with. I also got to meet someone who was involved with the FANTASTIC meed i was drinking... HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING MEED ::the elder was my fav ..... i will never miss a year again after this day. Shaming people and putting them in the jail and the circus family and alllll the art n venders and Wonderful efforts put into all the clothes, art, shoes, decor, accessories and armor just made me honestly VIBRATE with excitement the entire day.

Ask the Community - Sherwood Forest Faire

Looking into taking my 13 year old here. We've only ever been to Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie. How does Sherwood Forest Faire compare to Scarborough Faire (size/feel/cost/variety/teen friendly/etc.)? Are there many differences?

The obligatory face painting and caricatures are represented and the streets are buzzing with people of all ages. Beer, wine, and water stands are placed strategically and the local American Legion has opened their doors to the public. There is no shortage of food here. There is a "Food Court" street with a number of food stands selling anything from smoked turkey legs (droooool) to roasted corn and even Jamaican food. This festival also doubles as a BBQ competition. If you walk along the Eastern boundaries, you will see lines of classic cars and a number of smoke pits of the BBQ competitors. The best part...they are all offering samples on a donation basis (the BBQ competitors...not the classic cars). The term 'sample' is misleading, as they are handing out full meals for the most part. Let me tell ya...there was some great meat coming form these pits. Three stages with a constant parade of bands ranging from Southern Rock to Bluegrass. So, make sure to wear your dancing pants! The crowd is friendly, the BBQ is smoky, and the beer is cold. This is definitely worth the return trip next year! Oh! I almost forgot. For the kiddos (and so inclined adults) there are carnival rides and games!

The festival is held in the city's historic downtown square. The festival brings together live music, artisans, vendors, food trucks, parades, and family-friendly activities in a festive atmosphere. The streets come alive with color, energy, and the signature red poppies that symbolize Georgetown's identity as the "Red Poppy Capital of Texas". Until today, I did not know this well-kept secret. It was so cool to see so many people with poppy clothing - dresses, tops, pants and even one gentleman with a red poppy beard. My friend and I spent 6 hours at the festival. This festival has a little something for everyone. Georgetown visitors and residents enjoyed multiple music stages (Red Poppy, Mayfair and Celebrate) featuring local and nationally recognized performers, browse more than 150 handmade artisan booths, and take part in traditions he such as the Poppy Parade, classic car show, and the POPP Pup Parade. The featured bands while we visited included: Red Poppy Stage Schedule American Gypsy Band: 5:15-6:15 p.m. Jade Eagleson: 6:45-8 p.m. Maddie & Tae: 8:30-10 p.m. Mayfair Stage Schedule Rich Stolp: 4-5 p.m. Celebrate Stage Schedule GISD Ballet Folklorico and Mariachi Band: 4-4:50 p.m. Georgetown Palace Theatre Education: 5-5:55 p.m. The Red Poppy Festival fostered a huge sense of community. Local businesses, volunteers, and performers came together to create a warm, authentic small-town experience. With thoughtful touches such as shuttles, accessible parking options, and pet-friendly policies, the festival reflects Georgetown's hospitality and commitment to inclusivity. The event was well-organized, free to attend, and designed to appeal to all ages, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, and friends. The Red Poppy Festival was a joyful celebration of spring, local culture, and community pride and a standout event in Central Texas's festival calendar. Only one thing that could have made it better was to see actual fresh poppies.

I loved the setup, putting vendors back to back and not closing off the regular stores in the area. We wandered for a few hours checking out stores and booths, mixing between so we could get relief from the heat. We were able to be more exposed to stores we maybe wouldn't have stopped into before this event. Due to the event spanning multiple blocks it was easy to find street parking that didn't feel super far away from the action. They had a designated area where 6 or 7 food trucks were parked. This was the only area that needs to be setup differently in the future. Long lines and it was confusing who was in line and difficult to stay out of others way or to get through past people waiting in line or for food to be done. We'll definitely be attending again next year and will probably go later in the day to enjoy the free concerts in the square as well.
