Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek is amazing! I have a little one that is absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs and my social media algorithm has been sending me videos of this place for years, so I was very excited to finally check it out. They are located in Cedar Creek which is south east of Austin (about 20-30min drive from downtown Austin). When you arrive you get your tickets and give you a quick explanation of the trail. The trail with all the dinosaurs was amazing! They probably had about 30 something dinosaurs, mammals and reptiles around the trail. We did the walk in around 45min but we definitely did it at a higher pace since my kid was very excited and kept running from one dino to the next. I like that they had a small description for each one with some fun facts. They also had a couple smaller dinosaurs hidden around the trail and they also had smaller ones that you could take pictures with. At the end of the trail they also have a playground and an area where you can "excavate" for fossils. You can also rent a private area near the playground for birthday parties which I thought was really awesome. The store is huge and has a crazy selection of dinosaurs toys (probably the best I've ever seen). Overall, an amazing experience and I will definitely be back during my next trip to Austin! read more

This was a neat find! My wife and I were headed home from Austin to Dallas and decided to take a detour to check this place out. The park is certainly geared more towards children, which is great! There's plenty of space in the playground area as well as picnic tables and a pavilion. As 2 adults in our mid 30s, we thoroughly enjoyed the length of the trail, as well as the detail in the sculpture quality, and the plaques along the way that provide historic descriptions of each exhibit. It's a fun place, though, is highly recommended bringing a child along as it would make the experience even better. read more

Awesome park for kids! Lots of dinosaurs to see plus plenty of small dinosaurs to interact with for photo opportunities! Bring ample water on the trail! And bring a stroller -- it's gravel, most strollers can handle it. I made the mistake of carrying my 1-year-old (in a carrier) on the trail and was super tired. It's a decent amount of walking. Visitor's center has ample bathrooms and they're clean. They also have toys for sale -- lots of toys. Great curation of dino-themed merch. My one tiny complaint is the lack of a trash can on the trail. One mid-way would help (maybe a T-Rex head lid, for fun). I had a wrapper from a melted protein bar and had to carry it. Overall, really fun activity for kids at a reasonable price (2 and under are free). read more

The dinosaur park was a lot bigger than I thought! It took a while to walk around the trail to see all the dinosaur statues. Each dinosaur had a sign listing their name and a lot of fun facts about them, I learned several things I didn't know about even some of the most popular dinosaurs. Luckily we started the trail ahead of a school group so it wasn't loud and busy. There was several photo opportunities to take cute pictures which was nice. The gift shop is large with all things dinosaur including everything from legos to stuffed animals. read more

We probably would have never known about this place if it wasn't for the fact that it was located 5 mins from the hotel we were staying at. 20-30 mins outside of Austin sits every little dinosaur kids dream. This place has a massive gift shop, two great playscapes, and a wonderful dinosaur trail consisting of small and massive dinosaurs. It even has ones that kids can climb and ride. We came right at opening, and by the time we left, the lot was full. The trail took about 25 mins but I'm sure it can be much longer if you have a kid wanting to explore. I wasn't sure what to expect with this park, but I was really pleasantly surprised. There is a store that you enter through to pay, and it's stocked with dinosaur toys, figures, and strangely, Jurassic Park merch. Then go out back to see a giant playground, but if you go to the left, you'll see a pathway with two statues. There is a long walking trail filled with dinosaur statues, signs, and other neat things for the kids to explore. I was surprised at how nice-looking several of the dinosaur molds were. It's also a decent walk with some sporadic shade trees, so go in the morning when it's cooler. It was a fun experience that kids will love. read more

This place is perfect for little kids with a love of dinosaurs. There is a walking trail with multiple sculptures of dinosaurs, informational signs about the dinosaurs, and some "spot the..." areas. There are also a few small dinos that the kids are allowed to pose with or climb on! The trail was longer than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. When your kids are done walking the trail, they can play in the fossil dig area or enjoy the two playscapes. There is also some covered picnic table seating. Pricing wise kids under 2 are free. For 2 adults and 2 kids, it was $48. If you are bringing a stroller, be aware that the trail is unpaved, but fairly level in most places. Also, as you might expect, be prepared to exit through the gift shop. One hot tip: bring 75 cents in quarters and you can make the dinos in the gift shop rawr! Dinos are in at our house so finding this dinosaur park was the highlight of my week! 1 very energetic 2 year old + a dinosaur themed walking trail + free parking= a very happy momma. We entered through the gift shop and immediately my son was stoked. Dinosaur toys everywhere and life sized Dino figures excite you for the trail ahead. We pay for our wristbands and head to the walking trail. They've got 2 different little playgrounds, an area to dig up 'fossils', picnic tables, and benches. The trail itself was so much fun. There were dinosaurs sprawled out every few feet. My partner and I were taken back by how huge some of the dinos were! Absolutely recommend the dinosaur park for a fun and different activity for your kiddos over the weekend! Make sure to bring lunch and water! It's pretty cool for kids. Admission for adults is $11. Kids $10 and under 2 free so it isn't cheap. With that said, the Dino trail takes close to 40 minutes to walk with kids. I'm guessing its 3/4 of a mile long but has lots of cut backs while walking through and lots of photo ops. They have some cute baby dinos with saddles that kids can take pics on which is fun. I think most of the dinos are accurate to size, but it's hard to tell and along the trail there are quite a few fun facts. They also have a few playgrounds which can also entertain the kids and a few benches with shade so you you don't get overly hot during the summer. Inside they have tons and tons of dino toys that your kids will have to walk through in order to enter/exit. They allow external food. We were there for a birthday party and had pizza, cake and non alcoholic drinks. Not sure what the rule is on alcohol. If you are in the area, certainly worth a visit. Is it worth an hour drive from Leander or round rock - probably especially on a cool day. read more

My wife and I were invited to a birthday party that was being held at this location. We had never heard of it before. It's probably 20ish/30 minutes from Downtown Austin. Arriving, we didn't know what to expect. I personally am a huge dinosaur fan so the concept and everything was super attractive for me. The Park has an indoor space where you can check in, use the restroom or buy snacks and souvenirs. Once you're done purchasing tickets and anything else all of the activities are outside. Definitely a lot of photo ops!! They have a "Dino Dig" area where kids could dig for "fossils" that was pretty cool. They also have a jungle gym with misters surrounding it. I'm grateful that the birthday party was under a big pavilion. By 10:30 (start of the party) it was scorching outside. The shade definitely helped. We did walk the Dino-Trail which had a number of great dinosaur statues and also panels of educational facts right next to each. It's shaded throughout, but was still hot so be sure to take some water with you. If there were a couple points of feedback for the business I would give they would be: 1) Consider some type of speaker system throughout the park that can play "jungle" or "dinosaur-like" noises throughout. There wasn't any noise or music and I really feel the place could benefit from it. 2) Consider hiring or training some charismatic tour guides for the main trail! My best friend took it on himself to entertain the kids pretending to be a "tour guide" for our walking of the trail. He added to our experience, I can only imagine what it could do for the business. Our VIP from H-town loves dinosaurs so we surprised him with a visit to Dino Park. The folks here are very organized and we were able to purchase tickets, receive our wrist bands, and be on the trail in minutes. They are encouraging but not requiring masks and their restrooms are being cleaned after each use. There is a well-maintained path that guides you through the park. These Dinos are built to scale and there are plaques that provide detailed Info. Photo Ops abound and there are exhibits that are hidden in the woods and on trees. The playground at the end of the trail will definitely wear out the little ones. There are picnic benches at the park and families were enjoying the break in the weather to have picnics. Of course, there is a well-stocked gift shop that has Dino toys, games, and even hats. Wear closed-toe shoes as parts of the trail were a bit muddy. Experience with a baby - don't take a stroller, take a carrier. The stroller was a pain to push through the gravel and our baby couldn't see anything in the stroller. We went when it was really hot outside, so sped through it. It probably took us 45 minutes to get through the path. Some of the dinosaurs and fossils were too small and hidden for our kiddo to see, but overall the dinosaur sculptures were ginormous. Adults are $11 and babies under 2 are free. We were in San Antonio with our 7 year old Grandson. Saw an advertisement and decided to take him. Got there at opening and temps ran over 100 plus degrees! You follow a long winding trail and nested in clearings in The woods,they have true size replicas of many dinosaurs! I was surprised my grandson knew 98% of the names, but what amazes me was the shear size of many of them! My Grandson loved it and I was thoroughly entertained! Fun day trip with my two year old! We went when the weather was mild and there were very few other people there. I was surprised how long the trail is! My daughter not only enjoyed the dinosaurs but birds and squirrels we saw along the way. She loved "riding" the dinos with saddles and running along the trail. When we finished the trail we enjoyed the playgrounds. Although we didn't need it, there were shaded picnic tables and the gift store was fun with clean restrooms. It's what you make of it. I took my 2.5 and 4.5 year olds as an impromptu trip as we made our way to grandma's house. Parking is easy and wide so no issues opening car doors to get the little ones out. The entrance to the building is double doored and there is a large store with lots of Dinosaur toys. There is a section for kids to watch a television if you need that. 4 large restroom and each named after a dinosaur. Large and spacious inside. Drinks and light snacks for sale, too. Outside there is a large playground area with multiple sections. One section had water misters going over a playscape and a picnic table. Very nice to sit and cool off while you watch the kids run around. The exhibits start past the playground. I highly recommend doing the trail first and then playground or their feet may get "too tired". It's a low impact and level hike-like setting with a mix of gravel and paved walk ways with twists and turns. Heavily wooded areas throughout the self-guided tour. The exhibits were amazing and the kids were screaming in excitement for most of the tour with every new dinosaur they saw. Really great space for them to show off their excitement and run around without losing them. The parking lot was half full when we visited and we only came across a couple other families on the trail because it's really spacious and spread out nicely. You won't feel rushed and can go at whatever pace works for you and your family. Great place for younger kids. Great set up and kid-friendly restrooms. You can also rent a separate indoor hall for birthday parties. The entrance cost was around $30 for two kids and 1 adult. read more

Our kids were in Dino heaven and just loved running to all the different dinosaurs and see how big and cool they were. We felt like the price was very fair for the amount of time you spend walking around and the amount of work that I am certain goes into building these massive dinosaurs. Such a great place ...exactly what you expect out of a dinosaur park. The admission is well priced and they even let you bring in water and snacks. The walk through the park takes about an hour or an hour and half (+ or -) ...we stopped at just about every exhibit along the way. All of the dinosaurs were in great shape....they even have some little ones with saddles that the small kids can sit on...super cute!! Only one thing, I do wish there was more shade in the playground area...my little one wanted to slide soooo bad but it was a hot day and that slide was on fire!! Ummmm this place is AMAZING if you have littles who love dinosaurs. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Upon entering, you have to go through the large gift shop to purchase your tickets. Masks are required to be in the building, but once you get outside they can be removed. The gift shop has a TON of dinosaur toys and dinosaur-themed items. There is a great range of prices too. You can get small little toys for around $2 or really big expensive sets for $60+. We really appreciated the wide range of prices so that we could get our little guy something without having to break the bank. Once you exit the gift shop, there is a dinosaur-themed play ground with dinosaurs to ride. Our little man went nuts the minute we exited the shop and saw the rideable dinosaurs. Once you enter the pathway for the dinosaurs, there are LIFE SIZE dinosaurs every 20'-40'. I was expecting only a handful of statues, but there were A LOT. It took us about 30-40 minutes to walk the entire path. We could have easily spent an hour if we stopped to read everything. Which brings me to another part that I loved. Their information plaques were actually interesting! They were well written without a lot of unnecessary detail but also plenty of interesting facts. (I had no idea dinosaurs used to be in Texas!) Upon re-entering the gift shop to leave, there are to sinks where you can wash your hands with soap and water. (I loved this! Lol.) We loved every bit of our visit. It's been 3 weeks since we went and our 3 year old asks on almost a daily basis to go back to the dinosaur park. read more

All for the sake of a very negligible discount, the owner wouldn't budge and I feel very slighted. Visited 7/3/2020. Masks are required for all inside the building and store. Loved that this was dog friendly and that our dogs can go along on the adventure. Homeschooling calls for walks with the Dinosaurs. It was really awe inspiring to see them life size and in a forest setting. We thought they would be much more visible in the brush, but they were really camouflaged. We'd turn the corner and be surprised by a gigantic brontosaurus or TRex! We went early and had the place to ourselves. I packed a picnic and we stayed for 4 hours; we walked through twice. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting much from this park. Thought it was probably going to be some cheesy kiddie park. Surprisingly, even though it was definitely aimed for kids, it was still a lot of fun! Some dino sculpture were more realistic than others but they were still fun to see and learn about. The way they built them into the trees a long the trail made it more exciting than if you were to see them in a museum. It's a great place to let the kids run around and there are some great photo ops. There's also enough shade on the trail so ur not overheating. You can have a picnic if you like where there's a playground and misters to keep you cool. The gift shop has plenty of clean bathrooms and they even have bath and body works Dino soap which smelled amazing! We love this place for the kiddos! The Dino trail is about 1/2 mile and features a ton of various dinosaurs including a few small ones for photo ops for the little ones. There are exhibits all around making this a fun hunt for everyone. Ideal for kids 1-7. There are three playgrounds and a picnic area at the entrance/exit. My kiddos loved the dinosaur park! We spent a little over an hour exploring the dinosaur path and looking at and taking pictures of all the dinosaurs. They have a scavenger hunt to add to the fun and my kids really enjoyed looking for all the hidden items. All the dinosaurs were awesome and we loved getting to see how big they really were and learn a little about them. The Jurassic Park jeeps were also a nice little treat! The dino dig was a great addition. We spent about 20 minutes there before having to drag my kiddos away. They could have spent all day digging for bones and other items. They have a great little gift shop with decent prices. Good selection with fun dino-themed toys and jewelry. This was definitely a fun stop during our trip to Austin. Dinosaur park I have two small children ages 2&4 and they loved this place. They enjoyed the playscape as well as digging for fossils. The trail was clean and easy to navigate and of course the dinosaurs were great. It was awesome seeing how big they would of been if they still existed. It was different from the normal fossils we see at the museum. My children loved the everything. The gift shop was nice and clean and the souvenirs/toys were decent priced.
