Shevchenko Monuments was recommended to me by Micheal at MT. Calvary cemetery in Linden NJ. He said they were the best in the business. And he was correct. I called and spoke to Denise who took all of my information and said she would get back to me in about 1 week with the permit. It took only 1 week. A great start to doing business with them. I paid for the engraving with my banks ebill. That was on 10/28 and the message I got from my bank was they would have the money by 10/30. I put all of my information so they would know it was from me. I called on Friday 10/31, and Denise said nothing had come in but offered to check. Both Denise and Kathy (the owner) worked tirelessly to find the money and today Monday 11/03 I received a call from Denise saying Kathy found the money in their business account. Shevchenko Monuments was beyond exceptional from beginning to end during the whole process of planning my Mom's headstone. Cathy, Lonnie, Chelsea & Denise couldn't have been more helpful. This was our first experience in planning a funeral and finding a final resting place for our beloved Mother. I cannot express enough how professional this family owned business is. They contacted us through out the process to let us know when the headstone would be placed and completed that alone was a great feeling that they cared so much . We were not around the corner . "OUTSTANDING" I had a unique problem with my Moms' head stone which was on her grave since 1941 and had sunk significantly and was most dirty and unreadable. I have spent 40some years trying to find someone which would help me correct the problems. No one would touch the job. I live out of town where the cemetery is located. I'm now 88 years young and dreaded the thought of leaving this world with the headstone in such a deplorable condition. I met with Lonnie, he understood the urgency. After the death of my Mother, I wanted to put my trust in a great company to make her a bronze plaque. I live in Philadelphia but my mother is buried in New Jersey. I was returning to Metuchen NJ to intern the ashes of my mother who had passed away in May of 2020. Bottom Line up front- I received five different estimates along with pictures of their designs and Shevchenko was the highest estimate of the five. I chose Shevchenko because Denise actually took the time to read my Mom's obituary and provide me a design that captured my Mom even down to the flowers she put on the marker which were Lilies of the Valley, a flower my Mom loved.
