Calling it a good decision does not begin to describe what this company meant to me. It was life changing. I genuinely cannot imagine where I would be financially today if Greenspan had not come into my life. My experience started with Kyle, literally while I was standing at the fire. When your house has just burned down, you are trying to comprehend what happened while people suddenly appear trying to get your business. Some were incredibly aggressive. Kyle was completely different. He was the classy guy in the tie, calm and composed. He walked over, introduced himself, handed me his card and told me he would be right there if I needed anything. That was it. No pressure. No aggressive sales pitch. No chasing me around. He simply let me know he was there if I needed help and left the decision completely in my hands. Once I chose Greenspan, I learned that this was not some sales technique. That was genuinely who Kyle was. Greenspan helped get me into a hotel. They completely changed the financial outcome of one of the worst disasters of my life. Over time, David became much more than the person handling my claim. I consider him my friend. But what happened at the very end says more about David and Greenspan than almost anything else I could write. I screwed up. I misunderstood part of our financial arrangement and thought Greenspan's fees had already been deducted from certain insurance checks. They had not. That was MY mistake. I should have understood the agreement more carefully, and I take responsibility for that. I had four checks coming that I could sign over to Greenspan. But even after turning over all four checks, I was still going to owe approximately $19,000. Greenspan had every right to collect it. They had performed the work and earned their fee. The misunderstanding was mine, not theirs. After I explained what happened, Greenspan agreed to rewrite my agreement so I could sign over the four checks and they would forgive the approximately $19,000 remaining balance. Let that sink in. They did not have to do that. I owed the money. The mistake was mine. They helped me anyway. To me, that tells you everything you need to know about David Block and Greenspan. Anybody can tell you how much they care when they are trying to earn your business. You find out who people really are at the end, when the work has already been done and they have every right to collect what they are owed. That is when character shows itself. David and Greenspan showed me theirs. If somebody I cared about ever lost their home in a fire and asked which companies they should interview, I would not give them a list. There is no list. I would give them one name: Greenspan. I would tell them about Kyle, the guy in the tie who did not pressure me and who immediately stepped in to take care of me once I chose Greenspan. I would tell them about David Block, how hard he fought for me, how thoroughly Greenspan accounted for my losses and how much money I believe I would have left on the table without them. On December 18, 2017 we walked into a house and found a disaster situation. Even though I'm an experienced realtor, I had never had something like this happened to me. My family and I, what caught completely off guard. The floor was covered by about half an inch or more of water, throughout the whole house. The expensive Persian rug in our dining room and living room were soaked, and smelled horrible.
