4/6/2026 I contacted Shields MRI on Shewsbury Street in Worcester MA today. I spoke to a lovey assistant named Patty in the office. I asked her if she could fax my Lumber MRI results to to my doctor at the Spine Center in Boston. I was very impressed by her professionalism, efficiency, kindness, and follow-up!! Bottom line... She had to jump through hoops to make this happen. After some difficulty she had success!! And then she took the time to send me a message that she was successful. I was so impressed!! They took over a month to get things moving. I have pain in my shoulder and am barely sleeping and finally after taking forever to do so I was able to get an appointment. Literally the day of (and mind you it took over a month for the appointment) they cancel it a few hours before it. Now it should be fun to see how long it takes to get a new appointment. read more

Scheduled for a MRI. Called 3 times, left messages twice for information. No return call. Left vacation spot early for appointment at UMass, Worcester. Arrived an was sent to wrong office and there was no receptionist. Waited 15 minutes until an MRI Tech entered the room. I was told I was in the wrong location. Went to the correct location and was told my appointment was canceled on 25 July due to an emergency. My appt was on 1 Aug. The receptionist said she left a message on my cell phone. I showed her my phone - no message! I had competed my on line registration where it said if I missed the appt, I would be charged $50. They screwed up. They owe me more than $50. read more

I had to give a 1-star rating because there is no option for a zero-star rating. Scheduling the MRI for my daughter has been an absolute nightmare experience. You keep getting the run-around with the excuse that they haven't received the insurance authorization. After calling the doctor's office, I was informed that the MRI was approved. I called Shields back, and then I was told that their "insurance team" has to examine the approval from the insurance company. It is my impression that Shields bit more than they can chew, and the patients have to suffer as a result. Bad care. read more

my wife had a scheduled appointment for a head scan after Radiation we have been very worried about and we confirmed it 3 hours before going they said we were all set. Went to Shrewsbury st. location they are sending us away saying they have no record of or appointment we explained and showed confirmation. the girls at the desk were very nice and explained they have no information. who ever takes these appointments and scheduling should let the place know were coming. if it was a toe I would be ok some what but a head scan you do not what to hear you need to make another appointment. maybe they will fix the problem. we will sit home and worry read more

I had really bad experience. The front desk workers are unprofessional and incompetent. I made payment arrangement with them before my appointment since it is going to be very expensive. I made my appointment 9:30am. At my my appointment day, I arrived 9:20am. The front desk asked me about payment although I already partially paid before I got here. Then I waited for 45 min. No one inform me why they were delayed nor letting me know running late. I complained for a long wait, then the front desk worker said my appointment was actually 10:20am. I also complained why no one informed me the change before and I wasn't aware of it. However I had appointment reminder email from them stated my appointment is 9:30am!! I went the front desk worker to show my email and she finally said she made a mistake, but she couldn't tell me she was stuffing her food in her mouth at the front desk around 10:00am while I was in waiting room. No apology, nothing from her. I was also wondering why was she eating at the front desk, don't they have a break room to do that. I felt the front desk workers only care about payment and are treating patients/customers such a rude attitude. I don't expect a lot from the front desk workers but they should do their job with professional manners. read more

Do not put you faith in this organization. They have twice cancelled my MRI appointment the night before. I have been put off 34 days from the originally scheduled appointment. I take my cancer diagnosis far too seriously to allow this to happen again. Their ignorant, clueless response to your questions is an obvious giveaway. There are plenty of professionally run MRI centers. This ain't one of them. Walk, don't run from these clowns. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. A NIGHTMARE. I booked 1 week ago for an MRI machine that has been BROKEN FOR A MONTH and is it not even scheduled to be working for another month. I confirmed AGAIN 24 hours before my appointment and no one told me. NO ONE told me it was broken when I scheduled it 1 week ago. NO ONE told me it was broken when I confirmed 1 day ago. What a RIDICULOUS UNPROFESSIONAL horrible clinical experience. DO NOT GO HERE!! They will waste your time. read more
