Stay away. Please. This place mentally abuses its mental patients. And that's not embellished. Even had a friend go with me last time to hear how they treated and spoke to me. Also, after 3 faxed requests and 2 voicemails from my pharmacy, the doctor refused to fill my prescription. I accidentally missed a couple of appointments. But instead of calling me to talk to me like the adult I am, she punished me and refused to fill my medication. That caused me to have to quit my depression medication cold turkey. When I addressed this issue with her while my advocate was with me, she got mad at me saying it was my fault and threw me out of her office - no embellishment. Just black and white facts. Beware please. After 6 years I can no longer put up with it and have finally decided to change doctors. Stay away! read more

This was my first therapy session and it was absolutely horrible. The therapist was looking at me judgmentally, resting her face in her hand. Then she told me I should shop around for other therapists. I would be more than happy to find another therapist, one that is actually passionate about their job. I had never been to a mental-health facility despite my ongoing issues so when I finally got good medical insurance I pursued Shifa. I was on a months-long waitlist only to be told the day before that my in-person appointment was being changed to telehealth. This was my first red flag as I'd expect to meet someone face-to-face in discussing mental health issues and treatment. The woman I had a video call with was an intern who was being monitored by her boss. Second red flag. I felt rushed through the entire process and none of it felt genuine in getting a solid treatment or diagnoses for myself. I was told I "most likely" have adhd, which I've always suspected. I was also told that I have anxiety and depression. She told me that before we treat me for adhd, she was going to prescribe me an SSRI and see if that alleviated the adhd symptoms. Now, I have absolutely zero medical degrees but I do know that anxiety/depression is a symptom of ongoing untreated adhd, however adhd is not a symptom of untreated anxiety/depression. The way they were so quick to prescribe a random SSRI to me made me uncomfortable after the fact. I did not fill the prescription as I've never been medicated and did not personally feel an SSRI was what I needed. I was told I would get a call to check back in with me 30 days after the appointment--it's now been 46 days and nothing. This place does not genuinely care about their patients or anything beyond prescribing antidepressants off the bat. Would not recommend. I'm just disappointed I spent so much time waiting to be seen here and not in a waitlist for someplace that actually cares. read more

I went to Shifa health for a few months before the doctor decided to leave and Shifa health did not transfer me to a new doctor. I was on my own to go find a new doctor to continue my medication management. So, if you like the idea of getting set up with a doctor only to be given less than a month notice that you need to go out and find a new doctor to continue your prescriptions, then Shifa health is for you. The front desk staff was extremely unprofessional. Every time I had to pay a co-pay, they made a "production" of it, requiring multiple people. I wasn't asking for "special treatment", I had the money in whatever payment method they wanted, and it was still a hassle. After the doctor left, I needed a copy of a note she gave me. I emailed the office and had to do about 7 emails of back and forth before I got not quite what I asked for. In general, it all came off as unprofessional and uncaring. I got the impression that my doctor left because Shifa health was a not a good place for her to work for. I only came here to write this review because they added me to their mass emailing (spam) list and sent me an email asking for a public review. So there you go. I saw Suzy Dahlgarn here for several years. Although she was habitually late, she was a good listener and showed compassion. The one appointment that I was late for though, she left the building after 20 minutes They failed to give me reminder calls for 2 separate appointments & Charged me a no show fee of $75 dollars each. I disputed this but they turned it over to a collection agency and then reported it to a Credit Reporting Agency. read more

After a year, Shifa Health sent me an email asking "We need your help spreading the word with a great online review!" which isn't going to happen. My regular doctor was retiring on short notice so I talked to Shifa about making an appointment. They didn't have an issue with my insurance until I got to the appointment when the front desk was so disorganized I wasn't sure what was going on. After letting me see a doctor, we were interrupted they didn't accept my insurance so I was asked to leave and find somewhere else even though I could have paid out of pocket. 2 weeks later there was an email about an appointment which was 3 days after be hospitalized from Covid (pre-vaccination era). Because I could barely speak, the receptionist started badgering me about why I called and no one would see me etc. I finally hung up and called back, got the same person who actually told me "You are just looking for drugs!". er, what?!!! I waited a day and called again getting a different person and they hung in there to understand what happened due to my voice being almost a whisper, apologized, then suddenly hung up on me because someone in the background told them to hang up. The most surreal encounter with a "Mental Health" group I've ever encountered and it seems nothing has changed in a year. Luckily I found Puget Sound Health where so many people care about your overall health that I still wonder what the heck is up with Shifa. read more

After driving nearly 30 minutes for my appointment, which had been scheduled for 8 weeks, I was turned away because a glitch in their system cancelled my appointment. After the receptionist talked to the ARNP Suzy Dalgarn who was I was supposed to see, she shrugged her shoulders and said I could find out if my insurance would pay for a telehealth appointment. Suzy walked right passed me to another patient in the waiting room without even an apology. These people have zero respect for other people. read more

I wouldn't recommend this office. I had an appointment with an ARNP whom prescribed latuda to me. I was induced into full on psychosis after, and have never been the same since. The issue wasn't that NECESSARILY because I know meds are weird. The issue was that I called incessantly begging for help when the emergency room could only help so much. Nobody would call me back; with that, when she did call, she suggested I continue the medication (I found out later it was good I didn't). She acted as if she had no idea what happened or why, or how to help me. I had to go get alternative help, and like I said, my brain and thinking processes haven't ever been the same since. read more

This business is not closed, it's just inadequate for public service currently, and they're trying to escape these ratings people keep dinging them on. I am a former patient who called to set up a new appointment after a few years. I found out I had a missed appointment fee they sent to collections for less than $100... seriously... and was told as soon as I resolved the debt I could have a new appointment. I resolved the debt, waited a couple days, then called to make an appointment but only got their voicemail. So far its been two weeks, four voicemails and two emails with no response. This clinic is great at taking payments, but it looks like that's all they're able to do these days. They get an absolute zero from me on their professionalism, and if they didn't want me as a patient all they had to do was say so. Now they get this instead. After waiting for an appointment for over a month and a half to meet with a psychologist... I am cancelled on! I walked into the clinic for my appointment early for paperwork. The receptionist are hardly paying attention to me and I have to be the first person to say anything to try to get help and checked in. The receptionist then tells me my psychologist isn't in the office and will be meeting me over the computer... for how much they charge they expect me to sit basically on skype with a "professional".They then put me in a corner to take my vitals and fill out a form. I then hear the women at the front talking about how they didn't realize I was a new patient... and how they put my information under the WRONG CLIENT! When I walked up to turn in my paperwork the women are on their cell phones which is completely unprofessional and against HIPA laws especially when you have personal client documents right in front of you! I am then told that they"tried" to call me the day before to cancel and that I didn't answer. For a NEW PATIENT to receive this service I am shocked especially when you are dealing with peoples mental health which should be treated as urgent! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Now I am rescheduled at a different office which already has much better customer service but now I'm stuck waiting another month for help. read more

For a group practice nobody seems to communicate or have each others backs. The front desk staff were talking about other staff with clients standing right there. Nancy Turner is a danger to her clients with her lack of knowledge and understanding of clients needs. She went on vacation twice while I saw her with no back up support plan and no one covering for her. If her clients called the clinic they were given the advice to go to the ER for med management. My therapist even called the office and was appalled by their careless and rude response to her questions and attempt at providing wraparound style care. Avoid Shifa if at all possible! read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Their staff is very unprofessional. More than three times did I get different answers to questions I asked and has prescriptions sent to a different state!! I have dealt with rudeness when I called in to have them send my prescription to the right state and location. I also had a problem with the Arnp after awhile . She lied apparently in her notes. When I stated that I had recorded our phone appointment, she refused to see me again . In that recording, no where did it state what she wrote in her notes. I had an appointment for in person set up with her and she canceled it without me knowing until I called the receptionist. Then was told she would no longer be seeing me. Extremely unprofessional and unethical! Yes, they are a cheap company to go to, but due to the staff not having their act together and now the lie that was from the arnp, it is very disturbing. read more

I had a good experience with Shifa. They did lose my first appointment and I had to wait along time to get in but that is also because there are just not enough providers that accept my insurance. When I got there the receptionist was friendly but efficient and I felt like Dr. Clark was knowledgeable and thorough. Just my first appointment but I am encouraged. read more

First off, Suzanne Dalgarn is wonderful, and the old Mill Creek office was great. The Everett location is nice aesthetically, however the staff is unprofessional, and you won't be treated the same way anymore. Their attitude is lax and dismissive, and they do not smile and emphasize client happiness. That is important to me if I need to interact with your staff! Example: I received a bill 2 weeks after my appointment. It turns out I had already paid the bill by the time it was even sent out (I paid it at my visit, and it was dated 2 weeks after that). However, that's not what bothered me the most. The most upsetting thing was that, in BOLD WRITING and ALL CAPS on the envelope was printed "(MY NAME) - DO NOT SCHEDULE". And when I opened the bill, there was a handwritten nasty-gram that said "Until balance is paid, no further appointments." Here's what's wrong with this scenario: 1. RUDE NOTE!!! I would never have gotten something like this from the Mill Creek office. Please evaluate your staff - they represent you. 2. CHECK YOUR RECORDS before sending this kind of communication out to clients. I already paid! I'm a good client who faithfully pays my bills on time. I don't think I've ever had a late payment. If you're going to put your foot down and be nasty, you'd better have a darn good reason - and you'd better be RIGHT. 3. IT'S NOT THE MAILMAN'S BUSINESS. Do not EVER broadcast people's personal business on the "TO" line of an envelope, in bold capital letters. It's embarrassing, and it's not the mailman's business - nor is it anyone else who lives in my house's business. You could really do actual damages to someone by using this tactic, and I'd seriously advise against using it again. 4. MAKE A PHONE CALL FIRST. Even if someone were to be late on a payment, the first step should always be to try to find out why. Your go-to first step should never be to send a nasty-gram and a threat of discontinuing care stuffed inside an embarrasingly-addressed envelope that broadcasts someone's personal business to everyone who lays eyes on it. Even though it happened that I was not late on my bill, and this mailing was an error on Shifa's part, I very easily could have missed a payment purely by accident. People lead real lives under inherently uncertain circumstances. Within the past 2 months I've unexpectedly had kidney stones that led to being admitted for several days to the hospital, and required surgery. After recovering and having stents removed, I fell down the stairs and was injured. These events caused me to fall behind in school, as well as other things. I very well could have missed a payment and not even realized it. So be kind, and give people the benefit of the doubt before cracking the proverbial whip. Shifa providers, I really hope you'll evaluate who you have working for you, and take a good look at how they represent you as providers. I will personally continue to see Suzanne because I've had a great long-term experience with her. But others may not have the same patience, especially GOOD clients. There are plenty of social networing groups where people in the community reach out for referrals. Do you want to be posted in these groups as "Stay away from this place"? Or do you want people to say, "Oh, I've been seeing _____ for years, she is great. And the office staff is warm, friendly, and professional. GREAT place, I highly recommend getting in there if you can!" read more

I see Zarah Kushner, who I really like, and feel has been very helpful. The office staff, while a bit shaky when I began going there, seems to have stabilized, and is easy to work with. I get reminder calls about my appointments and have never had trouble with billing. Zarah's been available after hours by phone and takes that very seriously.
