Since that time I have had many gastrointestinal issues with much discomfort and irregularities in processing foods. No doctor helped with advice and there are many suggestions on google but it was all very confusing. Karen put me on an anti-inflammatory diet. I have been on it for only 21 days and I feel 100% better. For 15 months I suffered with daily and nightly pain in various parts of my abdomen and chest and basically difficulty with the entire digestive tract. This is such clean eating and while sometime in the future I will enjoy a food I miss eating, I will largely stick to this plan. I'd rather feel good than have foods that cause havoc. Karen was generous with her time and interest in your journey. She's worth it! I'm very happy I called her.

She has a very aggressive demeanor, and does not specialize in any of the areas listed on her site. Eating disorders specifically and weight loss, she sent me a referral for someone else. Sorry, but false advertising, and super rude human! Would avoid her services, if this happened within 30 seconds of meeting with her.

By adhering to the good habits she taught me, I've found it easy to keep my weight low & my fitness high. And as she claims, there is no sense of deprivation or being on a permanent diet. It would sound like an overblown cliché for an Angeleno to say that a nutritionist's advice was "life-changing". But I can't think of a more appropriate word -- and going in, I was a skeptic. Better eating habits and fitness have improved every part of my life: I sleep better. I'm more productive at work. I'm nicer to children and animals. And I still get to eat nachos and beer.

My schedule has been crazy since my husband has been battling cancer, and I needed some support to help reset my eating habits (which had been in rapid decline). On top of my demanding schedule, I have a complicated history with food. I've had disordered eating; have followed special diets ranging from veganism to the very meat-heavy autoimmune protocol; I have a ton of food allergies; and I am ridiculously picky. Jamie was incredibly supportive and empathetic. She listened carefully to my history and targeted her plan and advice to my individual needs. In my case, because I am dealing with overwhelm, she took a very practical, gradual approach to incorporating changes. For example, while she developed a full meal plan for me, she set the incremental goal of incorporating just two or three new meals in our first week. I was never at peace with the way I was eating and always found my mind thinking about food or feeling bad it. Such an unhealthy relationship with food Working with Miriam was so much more than just losing weight. I laughed, cried and opened up about so many feelings associated with food. She speaks and encourages with no judgement, which was one of my concerns coming into this process. She helped me get to the root of my cravings/night binge eating and I felt comfortable talking to her about the emotions associated with that. I had tried so many diets and worked out way too much (whole 30, paleo, trained for multiple marathons), I didn't understand why I couldn't get over my binge eating and lose weight. Her support and insight helped me understand deeper issues that subconsciously underline the way I ate. Miriam helped me realize it was a fear I had of failing, among other things, that was holding me back from enjoying food and life. Its difficult to face those feelings alone, but Miriam is a great support system.
