I write this review with the best of intentions. Some days ago, I was in to pick up an arrangement of flowers. I had ordered "Wishing a Speedy Recovery Vase," The lady who greeted us, was both knowledgeable and kind, also helpful. Sadly, the accolades stop there. The flowers I received were not even near what I had expected. The white whimsical fresh roses, and greenery, with a purple ribbon wound through them was presented as a bouquet with dark orange roses, a rust coloured ribbon tied around the vase, of tired looking flowers. I don't ever remember fresh flowers, having brown tips. The bouquet looked to be something you might purchase in the Autumn season. Why was a pink carnation added to the arrangement, as it had no semblance of even matching? If the shop did not have white roses, I would have expected a call from them asking what other colour I would prefer. It goes without saying, "That would have been proper protocol." The shop was closing soon and I needed this arrangement as a gift that evening, so I took those. They were no where near the quality I am used to giving. This will be a one time only visit for me. read more

Shig's is a fairly small flower shop in Sherwood Park that I stopped into one day for a dose of something bright and cheery on an otherwise dreary day. I slipped in out of the rain and wind, and was immediately greeted by a florist, who welcomed me to the shop and asked if she could help. "Yes, I want to step into your flower refrigerator for a moment to get a boost of seretonin," I thought, then just smiled and told her I'd puttter. The shop is rather tiny, with a narrow space up front featuring vases, fresh, curly bamboo stalks and some gifty items. You can't see any flowers from the entrance, as the refrigerator is slightly out of view. I was wondering for a minute if they were out of flowers! But the lovely smells in the shop told me otherwise. The kind clerk went back to her work in the back of the shop and I slipped into the cooler to look at the beautiful buds. The colours were vibrant and the selection, while moderate in size, was fresh and healthy looking. They had plenty of stalks of Birds of Paradise, some still-fresh Christmas berrie branches, perky Gerber daisys, gorgeous roses, carnations, mixed bundles and more. They sell those swaths of roses that performers are often given after concerts, for about $50 each. The carnations were about $30, slightly overpriced, but the quality was very good . I left feeling much, much better. Flower stores should start charging for the Zen, restorative experience of literally stopping to smell the flowers. read more

This was my first time using Shigs as I drive by them all the time. However I will never use them again. Their delivery service is horrible. Not only do they not deliver when stated, as a customer they didn't keep me informed of what was happening with my delivery. I had to have a coworker stay after hours in order to receive the delivery. Not acceptable. read more

I only write reviews when I am either extremely impressed or utterly disappointed with a business. Shig's Flowers falls in the first category. The quality is second to none. Their flowers are fresher and last longer than any other flower shop in Sherwood Park or Edmonton! The arrangements are gorgeous and their staff is friendly and efficient. My visits to the store remind me of shopping on Main Street in a small town. In and out with a custom wrapped bouquet in under 10 minutes. Or better yet, call in and have your flowers delivered. I use Shig's Flowers to thank clients for using my services and almost always receive a thank you for the best flowers they have ever received. Anyone who has purchased flowers from a discount flower store knows that they only last a week at the most. I've had bouquets from Shig's Flowers last as long as 3 weeks. I went to Shig's because it was recommended by a friend. I ordered an arrangement for $150, being promised a certain flower composition. When picking it up, the lilies I ordered were not included. I complained and they did then place them in. Four days later, the gladiolas never opened and drooped, plus the orange vase I picked out was not orange, but spray painted and the coating started flaking. Not impressed. read more

I have used Shigs delivery service a couple times in the last year.the first time the service was great! Unfortunately the quality of service severely dropped off. I tried to have flowers delivered to a friend that had been in an auto collision. The driver could not find the address and called me several times. When he finally found the place, no one was home and he took the flowers back to the shop. From this point, they never contacted me to let me know this. This level of service is unacceptable. Especially when one pays extra to have the flowers delivered. Needless to say, I will avoid Shigs from this point forward. read more

Terrible Service when I called to file a complained about my flowers dying within 12 hours. No refunds. They lie over the phone and refuse to answer the phone when they know that it is you calling to speak to the manager. I spent 80$ on flowers that died less then 12 hours later. read more
