The paths were recently cleared and roots shaved down to provide an even and clear walking surface. While walking we saw a barred owl, woodpecker, and bald eagle. We went the day after a heavy rain and the trails were a bit muddy. I recommend sneakers or shoes good for mud if you go after a rain. On a non-rain day, all footwear is acceptable. It was little tricky to find as Google takes you to the 41 entrance that leads to a chained gate. Eventually we found the correct entrance on Park West Blvd. Once in the lot, you drive all the way to the farthest baseball fields with plentiful parking. Tip: take a photo of the trail maps as you can get turned around at the forks in the trails.

We arrived at the paid parking area earlier than the official opening time of 9:00 AM--around 8:15 AM--and to our delight, they had a "soft, early" opening for Memorial Day. There was no line, no waiting, and the parking attendant we interacted with was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The staff was truly outstanding, taking care of everything for us. They carried and set up our beach umbrella and chair rental right on the sand, making our arrival stress-free and seamless. The view was spectacular as always--this beach never disappoints. We spent hours, 6 to be exact, watching the tides ebb and flow, completely immersed in the beauty of the ocean. The atmosphere was refreshingly peaceful and incredibly family-friendly. Even when it briefly rained, it only added to the charm of the day. After all, as the saying goes, "a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at work," and it couldn't be more true. If I could rate this beach higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would. It was a perfect day filled with relaxation, natural beauty, and wonderful service. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I couldn't help but stand and watch how well he worked, careful footing, tiny pruning sheets, totalky enveloped in his toil. I bumped into a volunteer who told me a bit about the lake behind the main building, the picnic area, the baseball fields --- a sweetheart of a lady, and so generous with her time. I loved the tall pine trees and the pine straw bed they laid down around the picnic table area. We sat breathing in the sweetest air, observing peace -- absorbing tranquility, this is a wonderfully calming place.

Most of the amenities I have at my own complex so they are a bit redundant for me personally. They do have a dog park with a big lake that I'd love to use but, my dog hates to go in the water and that's the majority of the park. From the list below, the thing I use the most is the walking trails. It's a great little trail with doggie pot stops on the way. I recently realized they have a couple horseshoe pits with backboards too! As this is a recent discover, I am totally looking forward to getting my hands on some horseshoes and getting a game together.
