Absolute beautiful park in Mt.P for a quick visit or for an all day play date. Located underneath the Ravenel Bridge, on can have amazing views of Sunset on the water. There is a large playground for kiddos, different areas of seating around the grounds and a lovely long pier out to the harbor. Parking is easy and available under the bridge or across the street. There is also an amazing additional park that just opened by this additional parking. That part has basketball courts, work-out equipment, and two different enclosed dog parks. read more

I love coming over to this little park whenever I have some time. The pier is cute and you can fish off of which I enjoy in the summer. The little shop is very cute and has plenty of items and food. No need to separate the park from the pier, they are both wonderful places to visit and to bring your guests. The memorial park has large grassy areas to relax, a very large area where dogs could play (I don't know if unleashed pets are allowed - don't be obnoxious), and a huge and well stocked playground for young children, with many pieces of equipment to keep different ages busy and excited. There is also a building that can be used for events such as weddings - this would be an awesome location for nuptials. read more

Overall: A great pier to take family and friends. The good: It's really neat to walk "under" the bridge and go out into the water a bit - it's one of the only public "piers" nearby that do that. The traffic on the bridge isn't nearly as loud as you would think. There are several sets of bathrooms and they are always clean, plus free parking. There's a good-sized playground for those with kids, and a decent amount of greenspace leading up to the pier. The pier itself is wide, clean, and well-structured. Lots of fishers come here, which is fun to watch, and you can see the USS Yorktown in the distance. If you're lucky you'll see some dolphins at the end of the pier. Awesome park, playground, walking path, views, pier, restrooms, grass and shaded areas. (March 2023) The weather was cool, the wind was blowing and Waterfront Park is beautiful. Kids played for 2 hours straight and didn't let up. There are 4 large climbing/playing structures and 2 sets of swings. Fresh mulch and rubber tore paved paths inside the playground. Restrooms were wonderfully clean and stocked. Pack a lunch and enjoy the small center grassy hill to sunbathe and eat. All ages welcome and able to play. The walking path was wonderfully paved and lovely in the afternoon. The breeze off the river makes it definitely cooler there so bring a windbreaker or light jacket. The pier is lovely to walk and has an affordable gift shop to show a little Charleston love while visiting. Soft serve ice cream is $3.5-4.75 there and had it not been so cold we would've enjoyed some. read more

I love this park! The pier is a great spot to watch a sunset under the lovely Cooper River Bridge. It's nice to see it up close and personal from this spot. There's also a lovely playground for kids and open space to soak up the sun. It's a great little walk and I love that it isn't deep into Mount Pleasant so it doesn't take long to get to from all areas of the city. Overall, would recommend checking this park out! read more

This is a gorgeous park with a breathtaking view of the waterfront. You can watch the bridge itself during a sunset or you can step under the sunset and watch the coastline. There is a restroom under the bridge and a small gift shop where you can buy souvenirs and fishing licenses. There was ample parking but I was there at sunset so not sure about during the day. Add this to your must stops in the Charleston area if even only to watch a sunset. read more

It had been years since I'd been to the park and I guess we only made it as far as the playground the last time. I had no idea there was a pier to walk - a REALLY nice one, complete with a gift shop/cafe and restrooms. You can purchase a fishing pass at the shop too, which is great for visitors to the area. My daughter and I enjoyed the walk and just sitting in the swings checking out the view of the Yorktown. I love this park. There is plenty of parking, a park for kids, a pier, gift shop, tables & swings. It is right under the bridge & you are able to walk out onto the pier into the water. With tons of [free] parking, really clean grounds and a unique vantage point ofarthur ravenel jr. bridge, there's a variety of things to do -- walk/run/play/fish/etc. We actually came here 2x during our stay bc of its close proximity (less than 1 mile) to our hotel. Lots of adults running, tons of families playing with their kids in the playground, adults & children playing sports (frisbee, soccer, etc.) There's even a little souvenir store next to the [clean] public restrooms, right before the fishing pier. I love this place! Definitely a place to take your guests here and walk around or practice photography. Such a beautiful vantage point from under the bridge. Plenty of parking, places to have a picnic, and just take a stroll outside. One of my favorite playgrounds to take my kids (6 & 3). The playground is gated, it has benches, chairs, multiple sections they can go from. I want to say it said up to 12yrs old. My kids probably could stay there all day. We walked to the pier to the shop, grabbed a snack and water, restrooms were very clean. We saw tons of tiny crabs on the sidewalks, the girls had a blast rocking on the swings. We talked to people fishing, everyone was very nice. Charleston has a lot of neat places to visit, definitely a must! read more

We were looking for a pretty park to privately renew our 10 Year Anniversary vows, and landed here overlooking the bridge. The playground was pretty basic, my 7YO would have been bored after about 5 minutes, and there wasn't a lot of flower gardens, so not really a place we'd stay for long. The main focal point is the pier (perfect for fishing) and view of the bridge. There are plenty of benches and a few swings, a little store with snacks and some random souvenirs, as well as a public restroom. Bring bug spray if you plan to sit near the shore, the bugs are horrible and bite! read more

This review is for the playground only--it's not great for young toddlers. The posted age range for the smallest play set is 2-5 and even then there were big kids (7? 8?) hanging from the rim of the slide and swinging their legs around the space where a kid would be coming out of the slide; one almost kicked my kid. This playground is too busy and hectic and I came on a weekday during business hours! I've seen playgrounds where this wasn't a problem because the young kids' play set is placed farther away from the big kids' play set. There was a mess of half eaten/crushed crackers on the playground that hadn't been cleaned up when I was there. Parking was easy. read more

Mt. Pleasant is lucky to have the Memorial Waterfront Park. It's a really fun place to visit and stay active while in the Charleston area, and it offers something for all. For starters, there's a really nice playground for the kids- so if yours need to burn off any energy, this is the place to come. You can fish from the pier, or if you want to relax, sit in one of the many swings and just enjoy the view (unfortunately, the swings do not swing in this park). There's a small gift shop that also sells a few food items if you want a snack. A lot of concerts and events happen here as well. I've been to a few and it's a great outdoor venue since you have a breeze off the river. The park has bathrooms that are open during business hours and always very clean. There's also a water fountain just outside the bathrooms and one heading toward the Cooper River Bridge pedestrian path. Parking is free, abundant, and located under the bridge. This is a great place to park if you plan to run or walk the bridge as well. read more

I'm a big fan of the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. It's a great place to bring the kid to play on the playground when I don't feel like taking her to a bigger park. It's a great place to do a little fishing from the pier at the park. The swings on the pier are nice to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty. There is plenty of shade on hot days thanks to the Cooper River Bridge. There's a gift shop where you can buy shirts, stickers, snacks, or even a cold beer. The gift shop even rents out fishing polls if you came unprepared, but the fishing bug struck. And best of all about this park is that it is generally never over-crowded, so you can relax and enjoy a lazy day. read more

Did Starlight Yoga here last night and it was great! A bit cold, but overall a great experience. The teacher was awesome and I had a lot of fun. The best part was the view. The bridge at sunset is quite a sight to see! There was live music played quietly in the background and the poses were relaxing. The class was also only $5 for county residents and $8 for non county residents. If you pre-ordered, you got a glow in the dark ring as well. I will definitely be attending more events here as they come up! read more

A very nice park and tribute to the fallen who gave their lives to this great nation. As a Veteran it is always a somber experience going to War Memorials. Reading the names gives you the knowledge that our freedom comes at a great cost. The Memorial is really nice and it truly honors those whose names are written on the many plaques. This is a beautiful park right on the water underneath the Ravenel Bridge. I park here when running the bridge, and it's a great location to park when you want to run or walk the bridge. This park has great views of Charleston Harbor and downtown - you can walk out to the end of the pier and there is even a small store that sells souvenirs. I saw in our local news that Mount Pleasant may start charging for people to park here. I hope this doesn't happen because I think that many people who would like to enjoy the park wouldn't want to come if they have to pay. Please keep it the way it is right now so that all of us locals can keep enjoying it! read more

In many ways we feel luck to have chosen the hotel location for our visit. Our original thought was to stay in the heart of downtown Charleston, but found a comfy little hotel just across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Just below that bridge is a wonderful Visitor Center and Memorial Waterfront Park. The park is gorgeous!!! I'm a landscaper by trade who dabbles in architectural design and I was totally inspired by the design and layout of everything in the park. The Kruger B. Smith Building houses the visitor center where the nicest ladies you may ever meet will greet you warmly and give you maps, restaurant suggestions, tour tickets and most any information you need about Charleston and the surrounding areas. There is a playground with play equipment designed to mimic the bridge above. Our children absolutely love it here and insisted we come back every day to play. It was good for them as their were may children there daily to make new friends with. A great bonus is also a long boardwalk to the pier. At the entrance to the boardwalk is a Gift Shop if you are visiting the city and would like a few souvenirs. Along the walk are very attractive benches and sitting areas that give you views of the Cooper River, the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier (parked nearby), and a birds eye view of the underside of the bridge. You may think it would be odd and unappealing to have a park/playground and pier directly below a bridge, but you would be wrong. You may also think the underside of a bridge would be unattractive and uninteresting, but you would also be wrong here too. This bridge is a masterpiece in my opinion and everything about it fascinated me. I found myself looking up nearly half my time here. The main concrete support columns for the bridges suspension system have man made islands at their base and are magnificently illuminated @ night. The view of the bridge in the background at night with the park in the foreground makes for a postcard picture. Trust me, this place is wonderful in the day but amazing & night!!! The best part of the park I saved for last. It is the memorial to our troops in all branches of the US Military. Designed to feature a iron statue of a women sitting in the middle of a circle surrounded by Romanesque columns at her front and a step waterfall to her rear. Around her base is engraved "On behalf of a grateful nation" and it brought tears to my eyes. Her arm rests on a riffle holding up a soldiers helmet and in her other arm she holds a folded flag close to her side. The columns have words like Freedom, Valor, Honor & Commitment etched in the capstones and each military branch is represented with iron plaques. It is really a well-done and beautiful sight to see. I stopped by the park before walking the bridge, and was very pleased with how large and clean this area is. I can't wait to bring my kids here to play on the playground, as well as the other natural areas for us to explore. The military memorial was very humbling, and quite pleasing to the eye. A statue in the middle of the memorial is great for reflecting on those in our lives who have served their country in all branches of the military. Several people were utilizing the park for their morning workout, and there is an information area as well as a gift shop close to the pier. Clean public restrooms are also available near the parking lot, which has plenty of free spaces for you to leave your car while your explore. read more
