Attended the Sweetgrass Festival at Watefront Park today! Parking was ample, the views are spectacular, it's extremely clean and the local Gullah artisans are masters of their craft. I'm legit obsessed with these baskets if anyone is wondering what to buy me as a gift! Haha! A beautiful park with incredible live music and majestic beauty!

Great place to take the kids, go for a walk or go fishing. The playground is big and has lots of nice equipment. The large open grassy space is great for running around. The pier allows for great views of the harbor and downtown Charleston. On our first visit, we saw lots of birds, fish and even dolphins! This is a well-maintained park that is fun for the whole family.

No need to separate the park from the pier, they are both wonderful places to visit and to bring your guests. The memorial park has large grassy areas to relax, a very large area where dogs could play (I don't know if unleashed pets are allowed - don't be obnoxious), and a huge and well stocked playground for young children, with many pieces of equipment to keep different ages busy and excited. There is also a building that can be used for events such as weddings - this would be an awesome location for nuptials.

Overall: A great pier to take family and friends. The good: It's really neat to walk "under" the bridge and go out into the water a bit - it's one of the only public "piers" nearby that do that. The traffic on the bridge isn't nearly as loud as you would think. There are several sets of bathrooms and they are always clean, plus free parking. There's a good-sized playground for those with kids, and a decent amount of greenspace leading up to the pier. The pier itself is wide, clean, and well-structured. Lots of fishers come here, which is fun to watch, and you can see the USS Yorktown in the distance. If you're lucky you'll see some dolphins at the end of the pier. The not-so-good: Not much!

Awesome park, playground, walking path, views, pier, restrooms, grass and shaded areas. (March 2023) The weather was cool, the wind was blowing and Waterfront Park is beautiful. Kids played for 2 hours straight and didn't let up. There are 4 large climbing/playing structures and 2 sets of swings. Fresh mulch and rubber tore paved paths inside the playground. Restrooms were wonderfully clean and stocked. Pack a lunch and enjoy the small center grassy hill to sunbathe and eat. All ages welcome and able to play. The walking path was wonderfully paved and lovely in the afternoon. The breeze off the river makes it definitely cooler there so bring a windbreaker or light jacket. The pier is lovely to walk and has an affordable gift shop to show a little Charleston love while visiting. Soft serve ice cream is $3.5-4.75 there and had it not been so cold we would've enjoyed some.

This is a gorgeous park with a breathtaking view of the waterfront. You can watch the bridge itself during a sunset or you can step under the sunset and watch the coastline. There is a restroom under the bridge and a small gift shop where you can buy souvenirs and fishing licenses. There was ample parking but I was there at sunset so not sure about during the day. Add this to your must stops in the Charleston area if even only to watch a sunset.

Great place for a walk along the water with spectacular views of bridge and water. They have ample parking and nice paths along the water to walk or run. There is a small shop with coffee, etc and restrooms

Great space for the Blessing of the fleet and seafood festival. The space was packed but people were still pretty much spread apart. Lots of food vendors, vendors, popcorn cocktails, etc.

Gorgeous park to stroll down with great views of the water, downtown Charleston and the bridge. It's shady under the bridge and there's a grassy area to hang around as well. Tons of seating, a visitor's center, and a coffee shop all on site.

This spot located under the bridge offers a memorial, art works, plenty of parking, and a pier that sticks well out into the water. The views are excellent, space is ample, and even though the indoor bathrooms are presently closed, port-a-potties have been set up. It's a good starting spot to walk on the bridge, but it is also a nice relaxing area in and of itself.

It had been years since I'd been to the park and I guess we only made it as far as the playground the last time. I had no idea there was a pier to walk - a REALLY nice one, complete with a gift shop/cafe and restrooms. You can purchase a fishing pass at the shop too, which is great for visitors to the area. My daughter and I enjoyed the walk and just sitting in the swings checking out the view of the Yorktown. Highly recommend visiting and great for those who like to walk but need places to be able to sit and rest.

I love this park. There is plenty of parking, a park for kids, a pier, gift shop, tables & swings. It is right under the bridge & you are able to walk out onto the pier into the water. There are wonderul views of the water & downtown Charleston. They have bathrooms on site & a little cafe for snacks and drinks. You are able to fish & bring your dogs with you for a walk. There is also an event venue on site for weddings, etc. A nice spot to relax, take a walk, or bring the kids (or pups) for some fresh air.

I love coming here to walk the pier, or sit in the grass with a book. There's nothing like sunrise/sunset here.

Ask the Community - Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

Is this park good for rollerblading?

No way, not enough room, too many walkers and tourists.

Can you walk from Charleston to this park? Is the bridge across the water pedestrian friendly?

The answer is Yes, but it would be a long walk! Starting in Charleston, walking over the Ravenel would be 2-3 miles, then over to the park and pier would add another half mile. Then you have to walk back...
