The owner of Echohawk taxidermy, Kimmel, is INCREDIBLE at his art and trade. I had not been able to…read moreafford having a Kudu mounted which I took in 2010 until just recently. Upon returning from South Africa, I had the cape tanned along with some other critters, folded it up & haave kept it frozen until I brought it, the horns & skull to Kimmel last October. He explained that the tanning job left a lot to be desired (the tannery didn't razor cut the edges of the cape) and that he had never tried to mount a cape that was frozen for that long a period of time. He hydrated it for a few days, stretched, measured & inspected it, and called me saying it would be good to go after he painstakingly razor cut the entire edge of this large cape to make it right. I just received the finished mount and OMG, what a beautiful, perfect mount. I wish I could post a picture of it for you, it's now hanging on the wall and I smile every time I walk by it. Kimmel has an eagle eye for detail and is a perfectionist, and it looks as alive as when I first saw it walking through the brush in 2010! Thank you Kimmel, you really truly did a great job and I will be forever grateful.
