Wow! What a gem this place is in a small town. I'm so lucky to have found it. Super nice, clean, friendly staff. Marian was amazing in scheduling my multiple procedures. Had the best massage from Trisha. She got the most knots out of my back than anyone ever has. The steam towels and hot rocks felt amazing. Got the most amazing custom facial from Abigail. Just tried Shimmer Spa for the first time. I am very impressed by their professionalism and the relaxing atmosphere. The massage therapist was ready to do my massage when I arrived, the table was warm and the room was fantastic. It is refreshing to find someone who doesn't make you wait on them to prepare to do what they're supposed to do. I Received a Brazilian wax and massage from here. The wax service was thorough but quick which I appreciated. The atmosphere was nice and was much more than I expected for alamogordo. My husband and I both received the shimmer signature massage. I really enjoyed the massage, it was very relaxing and the aromatherapy was also a nice touch. I think my favorite part was the hot stone massage at the end- my husband also agreed. The staff was very friendly and the owner- knowledgeable and accommodating. They also offer 10% military discount. The pricing for the services we received were fair and comparable to other places offering similar services. We will likely be returning. Had a pre-natal massage with Heather a few months ago. It was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable during the entire massage. Constantly making sure I was comfortable and relaxed. I got a haircut a couple weeks ago with Ashley and she did a fantastic job. She took the time to ask lots of questions before, during, and after to make sure I was satisfied with my cut. I was very impressed by this spa in Almagordo. It is truly a hidden gem. Being new to the area I was super skeptical but I'm glad I went in! Ashley (the owner) is awesome! She does the waxing there (as well as massages and hair)and I would highly recommend her. Ashley's sister, Alex, does nails and she is great! She takes her time and does a great job. Terrible service. Purchased a massage via phone as a gift for a family member. Family member called me to ask me to call shimmer to prove I purchased it, as they had no record. Owner was horribly rude to me as well. I ended up getting a refund (15 min process) when I called the family member back to let them know I had purchased a massage elsewhere she said "thank goodness that woman was rude and I was hoping she wasn't the one who would give me a massage. read more

I recieved the WORST haircut from this salon. I asked for a haircut to my chest and got one to my shoulders. My ends flare out and I can't style my hair in any way to make it presentable. I have my senior pictures in 5 days and it's ruined. I will never be taking my service back. Thank you for the haircut I will always look at and hate. Very rude and very unhelpful. Had to open up a dispute through my bank against them. They would not refund me or offer services due to the gift card being lost even though I had the receipt showing it was bought. They said they need the number on the card. My question is, if you need the number on the card, how can you not track them? How can you not tell the card has been used? They act like people show up all the time asking for free services because they lost a card. I think not.... This was a present from my kids to my wife for mothers day. Thanks for trying to steal my money and not offer anything in return. Luckily I have USAA who took care of these crooks for me. read more
