In November, I attended my first Eventsy Event, a Legal Industry Networking Forum, which they co-hosted with the organization 100-Lawyers Strong. Was very impressed with the varied areas of practice of the attorneys in attendance but also by the mix of high-quality professionals in various industries of business. I attended another event, shortly thereafter, that was an event for Entrepreneurs. It was that evening where I met Stephanie Timoteou, the Managing Director of Sales and Operations for Eventsy. In her telling me about the mission of Eventsy, she also shared with me her story leading up to her joining Eventsy. I was immediately struck by her passion, genuine curiosity, and strong desire to create value through her work with Eventsy.  I next attended their Whiskey and Cigar Night at Beekman Bar and Books. It was a well-chosen venue for an enjoyable evening which included a scotch tasting (Glenlivet 12, 15, & 18 year) as well as an introduction to a the founder and CEO (that's how they roll yo) from Saville Row Society (one of the sponsors of the evening).  It was this evening where I was introduced to Maria Pardalis (the Founder & CEO of Eventsy) and was, again, very impressed by the commitment and dedication to making Eventsy a unique and premier social and professional networking organization in New York City. I have been tremendously Inspired by the people of Eventsy and am grateful to have been introduced to their awesome events. Gave my group and I the VIP treatment all night. I have another party planned thru Blaq List set up in 3 weeks. Shoutout to Amit for being professional and making sure my group and I had no issues.

She provided honest advice and worked with us to make our dream wedding happen. She pays amazing attention to the little details that we would not have thought of on our own--but all those little details came together in the most beautiful way on our wedding day. All of our guests were wowed! Allie was with us on the day of our wedding--and not only was she the most unbelievable coordinator, making everything run SO smoothly (even a last minute change to move the ceremony inside), she had the absolute best attitude and was so positive, reassuring and fun. Allie Beik from Polka Dot Events was incredible. She was so on top of things the day of that I…read morewould not be surprised if she had psychic powers. Every time I would think to myself "oh, such and such needs to get done, let me grab Allie and see if she can-" My thought would be interrupted by Allie walking into the room and starting to the exact thing I was about to ask for. We had a HIGHLY DIY wedding with many moving parts, including needing to set up and clean up all tables and seating, a self-serve buffet with outside servers, buying and bringing our own alcohol with outside bartenders, DIY DJ with an iphone, and all homemade crafts and florals. I mention this because we didn't really have other vendors to rely on much (e.g. no florist to put up flowers), and yet Allie guided friends, family, and the staff we did have to make the day run smoothly. Everything got set up, cleaned up, and all of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The only problem all day was that some unknown person switched out our iphone playing music. When I realized, I told Allie and she IMMEDIATELY fixed things without even disrupting the flow of the music. In addition to being a blessing the day of, in the time leading up to the wedding, Allie communicated professionally and efficiently with myself and all important wedding members to make sure everyone knew what was going on. She was also empathetic and understanding- she could tell that my husband and I were pretty stressed the night of the rehearsal dinner, and gave us some time to calm down before rehearsing and offered other options for rehearsal if it was too much for us. Allie cued me and others to be in important places at the right times to stay on schedule, such as for cake cutting, toasts, and the first dance. She honestly made it feel like I did not have to worry about a single thing except enjoying our wedding. Prior to the wedding, I did wonder to myself if hiring a coordinator was REALLY necessary. After all, I am a really organized person. After the fact I can say she was a MILLION times worth it and I would never even imagine planning a wedding without her. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. If you are having any doubts, trust me, you will not regret hiring polka dot events.

At first, I was very reluctant to write this review. I was very excited to support a black…read morewoman-owned business, and I admired Kori's tenacious personality. Sadly I recommend not enlisting in her services. In the initial meetings leading up to the day of my wedding, she seemed experienced and confident. She ranted and raved about the praise she received from her clients and all of the experience that she had coordinating weddings. Kori did not deliver the day of the wedding. I think my first clue was when I was feeling unprepared and arranged a final meeting with her 5 days before the wedding. She completly blew me off and said that she had forgotten, but she didn't think we needed to meet because she had everything under control. I wish I had gone with my Gut and insisted we meet anyways. The day before the wedding she ran the rehersal at the venue and was very rude to my bridal party, specifically the groomsmen. She kept raising her voice and snapping at them like they where children. Everyone was just excited to see each other, and that was not the way that you talk to adults, let alone how you speak to paying customers. We are not your daughter's girl scout troop. So many things went wrong on the day of the wedding. Kori promised us that she would be the point person between the photographer and the bridal party. We had asked her to make sure that our first look was private yet all of the groomsmen and family where there and Kori was nowhere to be found. The first look is a moment that you can never get back, and it was ruined. Next, mere moments before the ceremony was supposed to start, Kori came into the bridal suite saying that there was some sort of disturbance and that we needed the string quartet to stay longer. Turns out a large water-filled vase got knocked over, and it needed to be cleaned up. Guests later told me that Kori and the staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to clean up the mess. I don't understand how the wedding coordinator couldn't fix a simple thing like this, Kori talked a big game to us about how she was good at defusing situations the day of, which is kind of why we hired her, yet I was slapped with an $800 fee for keeping the sting quartet late. Next, I expressly told Kori that we DID NOT want the recipient of the garter toss and the bouquet toss to do one of those weird rituals where the man puts the garder on the lady. We where to have the bouquet toss and the garder toss and end it at that. You can guess what happens next, a weird ritual. I was humiliated and Kori was clueless. Fast forward to the cake cutting, I had an outfit change and went back to the bridal suite to change a few minutes before the cake cutting, to see guests, family members, and others in the bridal suite. Kori has said to us 100 times before the wedding that she would make sure that after the ceremony that she would make sure that only the bride and groom could be back there. As I'm changing into my second dress, Kori comes running in yet gain looking panicked asking, "WHERE IS THE CAKE?". The cake was delivered at 9 am, and it was now well past 9 pm, and Kori was just now realizing that she had forgotten about the cake. Finally, she found the cake and to my dismay, put a sparkler on top instead of the custom made cake topper that I had given her. WTF. 11 pm comes, and we are all outside during the sparkler handoff when she comes up to me and says "it's 11pm, I'm leaving. I put everything in the bridal suite and took a picture of it" then she disappears into the night. A few minutes later, I walk into the bridal suite to see a few items on the table. Kori had told us that she would box everything up including leftovers and drive it over to our hotel. She bragged brefore hand that, "My couples love me for doing so because they don't get to eat during the wedding". Well, she didn't deliver on that either, she just did a poor job and then split. I, HUNGRY, Drunk and tired, had to go around the venue and gather all of my decorations, all while still in my wedding dress. Not the right way to end the night, a lot of my items were lost, including my $400 bouquet that I was going to get preserved and cherish forever. After all of this Kori had the audacity to post pictures of us on her websites and social media channels as well as ask me later to write a review on my experience, well here it is. It's a shame that these bad memories will be forever tied to my wedding, don't get me wrong, we had a beautiful wedding, but it was no thanks to Kori Robinson.

Brief list of examples: she often took up to a week to return phone call from the bride, she double booked the bride on more than one occasion for important appointments, she was rude to the church clergy and neglected to properly arrange bride and groom's limo from the church to the reception so they ended up riding the shuttle bus with the guests. If you are looking for someone with attention to detail, this is not the planner for you.

Dano works with several different venues (see their site) and then coordinates all of the particulars from the venue rental and working with their individual management to catering, A/V and pretty much anything else you could want. We had the fortune of working with Michele at Dano, and she was terrific. Available to answer many, many questions over the months of planning this event took, and was way ahead of us all on-site. She also provided an excellent, courteous and effective wait, catering and bar staff and her recommendation for the A/V was spot-on. I'd hire Michele again in a second to put together any five-star event in NYC.

Emily was a dream photographer for our daughter's Sweet Mitzvah (sweet 16 & Bat Mitzvah) in June…read more2024. Literally, couldn't have selected a better photographer. Her photos of our family are wonderful and will be cherished for many years. Her positive energy and overall professionalism are top-notch. What made the experience of working with Emily even better was her connection with our family and guests, and her adaptive, flexible approach to capturing the best photos of our special day. She overcame some tricky obstacles when our venues for pre-party family photos weren't going to happen and made lemonade out of lemons. All of our guests were impressed with her in action and have raved about her work! We will most certainly be working with Emily again and I can't recommend her enough!
