We heard the donuts at Shipleys were not to be missed. The one in Abilene was closed so we hightailed it to Lubbock as they were closing at 2:00pm. We arrived with 30 minutes to spare, and were greeted by Sarah and Jennifer (see photo). Both were welcoming and full of smiles despite having been open since the early morning. Knowing we would not be passing by Shipleys again anytime soon we ordered a sampling of donuts; including a Cinammon roll and a bear claw. Also having never tried a Caloche I opted for one with sausage only. Turns out it's a bit like a Pirogi. Not greasy and dough is basically a white flour bun. This location is operated by IDIOTS!!! I use the drive through often and the "signal bell" is not working......the staff inside passes by the drive through window several time before they notice me. This morning, 02/05, I was sitting at the drive through at least 7 minutes before they heard my horn....they served customers inside howver I had been sitting at the drive through...honking my horn...the"manager" finally came to the window and said the bell wasn't working...ITS BE BROKEN FOR WEEKS!!!!!!!!! Would give negative 7 stars if possible. The slowest service in all of history. I have been in line now for OVER 10 minutes, and there was ONE cat in front of me. ONE!!! I'm typing as I wait, because I have that kind of time. The one person inside just likes to ignore the people at the drive up window. What a complete cluster they have here. Stay the hell away!!! This Shipley's I simply doesn't meet brand standards. They frequently don't have Kolache's even cooked at 7 am. Very small selection, that runs out early in the day too. Growing up I remember fresh Kolache's and glazed donuts being made till 10 from locations in Houston. The location on 19th has never disappointed. I do not recommend this location. Shipley's corporate please do something, I love Shipley's but this place isn't up to standard. read more

I went the drive thru this morning, I tasted my donut once I got to work and it tasted burnt so did my entire office... I called the store off of 19th to tell them about it and my concern. The Lady on the phone said "yes, its the oil, I know" I tried to ask for my money back, and then she proceeded to tell me that she couldn't give me my money back, and said she will remember the conversation so the next time I come in, I'll get my money back.... then hung up. I called corporate and launched an official complaint. What bothered me so much was that she knew it was the oil and they will continue to keep serving donuts today. read more

Bad food, bad service, owner doesn't know what he is doing. Never going back. Worst donut in town.

Poor Service. The hours of operation said they open at 5am but the doors were locked at 6:45am on a Saturday morning and the 3 guys working inside just looked back down without acknowledging us. So we got back in the car and went to the drive thru only to be told that they only had a couple kinds of donuts ready. Maybe something had happened or employees were late for work that morning, but the staff really needs some training on how to at least be polite to customers. I can't review the food because they did not have any of the 3 items we ordered. read more

Thank God for their hours and cherry donuts. I'm a sucker for the classic red ones since the other places in town have been going pink. It's a minor thing but it matters and the frosting isn't gummy. Pleasantly surprised with their size and decent quality at 3pm. Good service read more

The best donuts in Lubbock!!!! I'm originally from Houston, and shipleys is what I grew up with. This store is perfection! When I walked in it smelled like a shipleys, and all my childhood memories came flooding back. The donuts are just like I remembered delicious and warm! I'm so happy to have a shipleys in Lubbock! My favorite donuts are the chocolate glaze, strawberry iced with sprinkles and the Crunchy donut. The crunchy donut tastes like a cinnamon roll!!! It's amazing. My favorite drink to get is the green tea blended drink, absolutely the best pick me up. I can't say enough great things about this place. It's well worth the drive! They also have a great variety of donuts. There's something here for everyone. read more

This place is open later than most other shops and has a huge variety of donuts. My favorite thing is their chocolate filled donuts. They have good kolaches and huge fritters. I recommend going inside as it's much faster than waiting in a drive through line that wraps itself around the building. read more

Been to this location twice now. Both visits have been absolutely horrid. The staff failed to heat up our food on both occasions even when asked. The food was so garbage we had to resort to heating it up in the microwave in an attempt to revive the deflated sausage bun they call a kolache. The staff was nice but not very helpful and frankly not devoted to delivering the shipley's quality we have all come to know and love. All it takes is 10 seconds in the food warmer and this is a 5 star review... until then our attendance will be non existent along with everyone we know at this piss poor location. read more

Not very happy with the service I received. I called today to see if they had any specials for national donut day and i was told you would get a free glazed donut. I went through the drive through and I asked the for two blueberry donuts, two chocolate donuts and she gave me two glazed and wouldn't let me finish my order and she charged me for the glazed? I tried to call her back to the window but she ignored me and went to the back?? She seemed like she didn't care.
