He is such a wonderful, kind priest. He welcomed me & helped me in ways that I will be forever grateful . I am so grateful to the catholic church for helping me through one of my most difficult times of my life. It did not matter that I was away from the church for so long. I was still welcomed with open arms & prayers. Thank you Father Angelo for your prayers & guidance. I will always be grateful that we are blessed to have such a warm, wonderful priest as Father Angelo. Thanks be to God for all kind staff at St. Mary's.

Pros: When we joined the church pre-pandemic, we loved Fr. Biju and Fr. Rick and honestly just the open-mindedness of the people that we spoke with here. It seemed like a place that we could truly belong. Homilies were actually thought-provoking. They have a carnival each year, which is awesome! Only have been to it once, but I still remember it. Can't wait to try it again except with kiddos in tow, this time around! The location of this church is ideal! Walking distance to downtown los gatos. You honestly can't beat it. Cons: Unfortunately, I've had a couple of conversations with a priest there currently, and the way it went really did give me pause. The priest mentioned things like "make sure your daughter is a good little girl and is quiet" (cringe) and "so you don't have any issues in your marriage right?" when asking about convalidation (apparently the guy has never been married...). I of course understand his intention, wholeheartedly, but left feeling small and frustrated. Michael Lomas was very kind and explained the baptism process to my husband and me. Agnes and Dwayne (agh, are those their names??) were very sweet as well. Pamela B. was supposed to do the baptism class, but was unable to do so because of a scheduling issue. Totally understandable since she had a sick kiddo at home (I get it --- I have a toddler who gets sick so frequently!) but then a scheduling mishap occurred only a week later. Life happens, totally, but it didn't make us feel like our time was valuable (the godparents were trying the zoom call for like 40 minutes). I think she said she had family in town? I'm sure she is nice enough, but haven't actually spoken too much to her! Re: Baptism, Michael did mention that we would be the only family who had signed up for a baptism, which was a big reassurance to us during covid/pandemic, but when we showed up, 5 other families were there! The more the merrier usually, but we specifically asked it to be on a date where not many signed up because of our risk aversion re: covid. We were caught off guard, since Michael had mentioned only a couple days prior that we were the only family. Perhaps a simple misunderstanding, but it was a shock to us (especially after deciding on a more sizeable donation since we were going to be the only family at the baptism). ...and now God is going to strike me down....wait for it, wait for it....

Our daughter is typically anxious with transitions, but she settled in remarkably well thanks to the warm, patient staff and supportive environment. Our two younger children also absolutely love school--they look forward to being there each day--and both took less than a day to transition with no tears when they started. Class sizes are small--fewer than 15 students in our kids' classrooms--which means real, individualized attention. We also value the well-rounded curriculum that goes beyond academics to focus on character development and a strong Christian faith foundation. It's exactly the balance we hoped to find. The campus is beautiful and well cared for, and they're actively investing in the future with a new middle school building and gym facilities underway. As parents of three students here, we couldn't be happier with our decision. Venture Christian Academy has been a blessing to our family, and we recommend it wholeheartedly.

At VCA, my children are genuinely known and loved, and as a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than seeing other adults deeply care for your kids! The academics and arts programs are excellent, the campus is stunning with exciting improvements ahead, and the parent community is truly special -- I love connecting with other families, often over coffee at Venture Coffee. I've been overwhelmed, in the best way, by our experience at VCA. What I love most is that the school leadership is never content to settle -- they're always striving to grow, improve, and create an even better experience for the school body and community!

It looks like parking is being re-done and policy is being Enforced etc etc. I came for a visit to my brothers for the weekend, and parked here this morning which I would move as I am in and out of the house. The guy in navy polo saw me getting in the car. Waited a few minutes and tried to act like "security" "policeman" not even hello, straight up "you have no business to park here, I saw you this morning, etc etc " I am not sure if he is having a bad day or that's just the way he is raised to speak to woman or in general. But he probably should learn what manners are. If your business or whoever is trying to implement this "new" parking policy, then start posting signs on the trees, re do your sign so it's visible enough and get security 24/7. As long as my family has lived here, there was no such thing who can or can't park. So policies and procedures for your business, businesses need to make sense, instead of coming out of the building with snobby attitude! I am sorry you are miserable and hate what you do on Saturday, but respect goes along the way! And if you saw me this morning park here, why didn't you come out and say something then? I did work 20 hours in hospital and last thing I wanted was to be stalked where I park and for how long! I cannot seem to believe this man's approach to my car! I should I have just drove away and not listen to him. It's 4:15pm and cars are parked out there and I don't see him stopping anyone from parking there, so it's interesting to me that you are almost picking and choosing who you want to tell something. I hope that made your day for choosing to be rude! :)

Middle school is a time when a lot of students deal with stress, anxiety, and other challenges, but it often feels like the school does not provide enough support or resources. Many students who try to talk to staff about problems feel like they are not really listened to or taken seriously. Schools should be a place where students feel safe asking for help, but that does not always seem to be the case here. The school should work on improving access to counselors, taking student concerns more seriously, and creating a more supportive environment for everyone. Students deserve to feel heard and supported, not ignored. Another serious issue is the number of fights that happen at the school. It seems like fights occur fairly often, and many students feel like the problem is not being handled seriously enough. When incidents happen, it can feel like some students get punished while others avoid consequences entirely, which makes the situation feel unfair and frustrating for many students. Schools should be places where students feel safe, supported, and heard. Right now, many students feel like their concerns about mental health, safety, and fairness are not being taken seriously. I hope the school administration listens to these concerns and works to improve support systems, supervision, and how conflicts between students are handled.
