Our family is delighted to have our daughter enrolled at Learning Pathways! We came in with high expectations seeing the 4.9 average on Yelp, yet we continue to be amazed and impressed by this incredible preschool! Incredible instruction, thoughtfully organized, and a real gem of a school! We will be sending our other children here, but I still want to write a review of my experience about 6 months in. A C A D E M I C S We were looking for a place that centralized academics in their activities, but in a fun, age-appropriate, low-pressure way. I am pleased with the way Learning Pathways not only covers advanced topics for preschool age, but always maintains a fun and low-stress attitude for the children. Additionally, we are really pleased with the breadth of topics: our child has learned about gravity, reptiles, famous artists, acclaimed musicians, and various cultures (Black History Month, Diwali, etc). This is all on top of the critical English and math, of course. Moreover, we appreciate the 3 assessments Learning Pathways administers to each child throughout the school year (September, December, and one at the end of the year). The assessment shows us exactly what our child knows, is learning, and can learn. We also see concrete improvement in specific areas between her first and second assessment, too! O T H E R S U B J E C T S While academics are important to us, we also really appreciate the educational enrichment. Our daughter is consistently exposured to art and music, and she also participates in a wide variety of athletics/sports. Everything is so thoughtfully planned, and I appreciate how LP really makes things fun. T H E S T A F F Staff is attentive, caring, and organized. Communication has been exceptional around administrative things. O T H E R This school year (2025-2026), they relaxed their potty training policy while also encouraging independence with potty training. Our daughter made very quick progress in the first month and is now very independent in this area. Thank you! Moreover, there are a few fun performances for the parents around the holidays. So far, those have been for Halloween and Christmas. Thank you, Learning Pathways, for organizing such happy and adorable memories for us! "Goodness Snakes" came to her class this month, and my daughter really enjoyed being up close and even holding (!) some snakes in a safe setting! LP is super good about taking photos of the children. We get photos (and sometimes videos) daily, and they're always a delight. A R E A S T O I M P R O V E We are thrilled with nearly everything about LP, but there are a few areas I think that could be improved: -Please consider healthier snacks. There are some snacks with a high amount of added sugar (e.g. granola bars and dried fruit), and it'd be much more appreciated to only give crackers for meeting the "grains" category of food. -Additionally, please reconsider Swank's Farms for the pumpkin patch field trip. Not only is it about an hour from LP, but it did not rival any of the local pumpkin patches (e.g. in Santa Clara/San Jose area). Moreover, it was a little surprising that there were not any group activities. My husband took a day off for this field trip so we could become more acquainted with other LP families, yet the school did not even take a photo together. We were expecting some sort of organized activity or interaction between the families, but each family was really on their own (just physically in the same space). read more

Our son started at LP when he was almost 3 years old in the Dragonfly class, and after two wonderful years in both Dragonfly and Star Room, he's now moving on to a private school to start elementary. Looking back, choosing LP was one of the best decisions we made for our family. Over the past two years, we've watched him grow into a happy, curious, and confident little boy. He's learned how to make friends, work through challenges, and speak up for himself. Most importantly, he genuinely loves school. The best proof? Almost every day he asks us to pick him up at 6 pm because he wants more time with his teachers and friends. As parents, we couldn't ask for a better sign that he was exactly where he was meant to be. What stood out most to us was how well the teachers understood each child as an individual. Our son developed strong math and early reading skills at a young age, and we occasionally wondered whether he would become bored. Instead, they found ways to keep him engaged, encouraged his curiosity, celebrated his progress, and continued to challenge him in meaningful ways. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who was part of our son's journey at LP, from Dragonfly (Ms. Coco, Ms. Gaby, and Miss Viri) to Star Room (Miss Alyssa, Miss Megan, and Ms. Daisy). Every teacher we met was thoughtful, caring, and genuinely invested in helping each child thrive. We'd also like to thank the wonderful after-school teachers, whose warmth and enthusiasm made every afternoon something he genuinely looked forward to, as well as Mr. Wes for bringing so much energy to PE, Mr. Wyatt for making music and science so engaging, Ms. Jasmine for encouraging critical thinking and curiosity, and Ms. Michelle for always helping coordinate communication and organizing the fantastic cooking classes. When it came time to apply for private school, the entire LP team was incredibly supportive. The teachers took the time to thoughtfully complete the required Current Teacher Reference Questionnaire, and we truly appreciated the care and attention they put into it. It meant so much to our family, and it genuinely felt like everyone at LP was rooting for our son as he took this next step. Thank you, LP, for giving our son such a joyful and nurturing start to his educational journey. We'll always look back on his time with gratitude, and we wholeheartedly recommend LP to any family looking for a preschool where children are truly known, supported, and inspired to love learning. read more

I cannot recommend Learning Pathways enough. Our daughter has seen massive growth in her math and language skills since joining. The academic progress is amazing, but the environment is what makes it special. You can tell it's family-run by how much the teachers care. Wonderful school and fabulous teachers! My son went to learning pathways for the last 3 years and and I was ready to enroll my daughter here even before she was born :-). Teachers at learning pathways are happy and well taken care of by the owners. Every teacher in the school knows all the kids and remembers them years after they move out. This talks greatly about how attached and committed they are. My son went to Butterfly, Sun and Moon rooms- all wonderful teachers in each of these rooms. We are forever indebted to you all for shaping his mind and nurturing him to be what he is. We kept our son here for Kindergarten as well and we have a sense of pride as he graduated Kinder yesterday. He's so smart, so caring , so social, good at sports and art, and a fabulous reader coming out of LP. He can read anything and everything, thanks to the focus on phonics from the very start. He's going to be way ahead of his class in 1st grade and that will definitely boost his confidence. Both the campuses are run by the same family and I would say they are fabulous! Everyone wants the best for their kids which makes picking a school stressful. You can choose lots play based learning or academic to either extreme. Each child thrives differently so making that choice at 2 or 3 years old is extremely hard. What attracted us to LP is they combine a little of each style giving each child the ability to learn different ways and parents the ability to see what resonates best for their child. Our kids entered at 2 yrs old (just after potty training) and will be leaving for Kindergarten next year. We just finished private school tours and assessments and I can honestly say I'm blown away with the education my kids have received. They will already be advanced for their K class and have 8 more months of learning before they go. You can not go wrong with LP, it is a great school and prepares kids for what comes next! read more

I don't know what I would do without this wonderful place. My daughter has been going to school here for almost two years and everyday I drop her off feeling confident that she's getting top notch preschool instruction but most importantly excellent care. If you are a working mom you know exactly what I'm talking about. The teachers are all phenomenal and seem to follow the same system of doing things. I have been nothing but impressed with Learning Pathways, from our first exposure when my oldest child was a toddler, watching the PFC class play hockey in Hogue Park, to the school tour, to their pandemic response and beyond. They have an incredible network of teachers that really manage to connect with our children and the community of families brought together through each classroom has helped pull us through otherwise challenging times. Learning Pathways has a well balanced program that truly prepares children. I have 2 kids that attend and I am so impressed with what they have learned. My kids look forward to going to school each day. They have phenomenal teachers that care and go above and beyond in all that they do. Besides their 3 core teachers in their class, learning pathways also has a science, music and art teacher, as well as a P.E teacher- each provides the kids with awesome learning experiences. They have an awesome support staff that also add a lot to the school experience. The owner, also plays a big role in the school, my daughter and son are always excited when Mr. Todd reads a story to their class. The school offers many extras from Halloween parades, snow fun in the playground, to pictures with Santa and even the Easter Bunny, and a lot of cute performances, I highly recommend learning pathways. read more

LP preschool is such an amazing place for my kids to start out at before starting elementary. All three of my kids are/have been LP students and now my littlest son will be starting in the fall and he is over the moon excited because of all the fun he's seen his brother and sister have there. The teachers and staff here are hands down AMAZING! The way they treat my kids as if their own and I love that about this school. My kids have grown so much academically and even in learning how to play with other kids! Before starting Kindergarten, I am just so shocked about how well they can read and write and I have this school and all the wonderful teachers to thank for that! read more

Made an appointment for a tour and it's such a clean and friendly facility! The wait list can be daunting but most preschools in this area generally have a wait unfortunately. This school is very close in proximity to our home so it would be amazing to hopefully get a chance to get in. The prices are fair and reasonable for the area. The have full time and part time schedules but give more priority to the full time needs. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and never congested usually. The park next to it is one of our favorite places. read more

My son loves going to preschool everyday even during the first few weeks of transition period. Teachers are all very nice and responsible. My son has speech delay and does not speak English well. But he is always excited to go to school. Even after the first few weeks I can tell his growth. I also really appreciate that the children are from diverse background, gender, races. I can't applaud this school enough and we are so lucky that our son is able to attend. The rooms are so clean, safe, the teachers are caring and wonderful, and the individuals who run it are extremely helpful and truly care about each child. My son LOVES going to school and randomly will say things he has learned in school i.e sneezing and coughing in your arm, which as a mom makes me so happy. The curriculum is fun yet challenging, giving the kids opportunities to grow to their fullest potential. The staff are like a family, which makes a safe environment for the students. The creative, social, and academic development your child end with will blow you away! Loving this school, we have been here for a couple years now and I have been meaning to review them for a while. Our daughter has made leaps and bounds since joining LP, as she was previously a late talker and in speech from the age of 2.5-3. Honestly what first drew me to the school was the location as its walking distance for us, and I really liked that the playground was almost completely shaded (our daughters previous school had very little shade and even with sunblock was getting burnt). Once I took a tour I was very impressed with the students art and the schools emphasis on art in their program. What stood out was the warmth from the faculty and directors, everyone just seemed so happy to be there (and I believe they truly are). I love the ratios they keep as it always seems there are more than enough staff and they break up classes into small groups to teach to the students ability. Our daughter really enjoys the Mandarin and Spanish lessons and different rotational sports that they play. In addition we have her signed up for the optional dance(ballet/tap), cooking, science and karate classes through the school and she loves them all. (It is really nice to not be shuttling all around town or on the weekend for these classes they are integrated into the day once a week) We were fortunate and got on the list at a good time as the school was newer to this location, but I've heard there is a bigger waitlist now. It is a clean, uncluttered facility and a well thought out and fun curriculum. Slightly leaning toward the academic side (vs. a strictly play based school) but everything is done in a fun sing song way without pressure and there is plenty of focus on play and creativity as well. One downside I would say is that the location is next to another preschool with what seems like a lot of students so parking can be terrible at times when I do need to drive to pick up or drop off. We are continuing here through Kindergarten, as I like the lower ratio vs. at the public school nearby and quality aftercare availability (Its like a giant playdate : ). I'm very happy with our decision to send our daughter here and at the end of the day she wants to stay at aftercare and play with her friends longer, so if that doesn't speak for itself I don't know what would. read more

My daughter loved going to Learning Pathways. The teachers all go above and beyond to both care for and teach your child. We saw a lot of growth, both academically and emotionally, in our child after just a few months of attending. This school astounds me every day because it is just that incredible. We looked at numerous options (Happy Days, Montessouri, Stratford, and all the other private preK and K schools) We started at Learning Pathways Summer 2015 when we moved to town. My children were 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. Within weeks my 4 1/2 year old was putting words together, writing all her upper and lowercase letters (she didn't know all lowercase quite yet), doing crossword puzzles (seriously!), doing simple math on paper (9-6=3), and filling in words in sentences. My 2 1/2 year old came home saying, "Mom there's a B on your shirt!" And, "Look, there's an X over there!" Every weekend they asked all day long, "When can we go back to school?" The lesson plans are solid and clearly they are learning, but they are also playing and to me that is really important. They are children and I want them to have ample outside time. The full athletic program (no additional cost) is amazing - they learn and play all sports. They are also taught Spanish and Mandarin (we're neither hispanic or Chinese) at no additional cost which is fantastic. And the art room is amazing - a full room just for art! And the teachers are phenomenal. Every one of them. My oldest will be attending the kindergarten Fall 2015 (she just misses the public school cutoff and we decided to pay for this school instead of doing TK) and my youngest will be in the level one pre-K. I feel fortunate every day that we found Learning Pathways for our children's growth and education. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Miss Diane and her fellow teachers at this school. Our son started here when he was 33 months old and now he's almost 5 years old. He came in not knowing how to write his name- he's now reading and doing simple math! The teachers here care about the children and they work on the premise that ALL children have the potential to do well! That's the academic stuff- this school is fun, too! There's lots of singing/ dancing and emphasis on building friendships/ manners, etc. Where else can our son have exposure to American Sign Langauge and Spanish? Our son loves coming to school and nothing compares to the experience that these teachers bring to their jobs. They truly are educators without all the regimentation that you might find at places like Challenger or Stratford. Your kids will learn the same things, but develop themselves socially as well. Our son will stay at the school for kindergarten and his little sister will be starting here in a few months. So happy that we get to continue our relationship with the teachers! This is a wonderful school run by a family with a lot of experience, care, and passion for what they do. My daughter had a very hard time adjusting to school , as she had never been to a day care or school before, and everyone went out of their way to help her out. they have a lot of fun classes and activities to offer, and the place is alway clean and well-kept. They offer Chinese, spanish, sports, academics, as well as dance and cooking classes. The playground is also beautiful and shaded. Special thanks to Miss Angie, a wonderful teacher whom my daughter bonded with very fast. She as well as all other teachers and staff were there for not only my daughter but my family through the difficult transition. I thought I'd give an update now that the school year is coming to an end. Like her big sister did, my soon-to-be 4 year old is loving this school. Understandably, there has been some tears recently with her adjusting to all the new teachers since the school is expanding. My litle one seems to have grown particularly attached to Ms. Julia and Ms. Christina, but all the teachers are so warm and friendly and always greets us with a smile. We have seen some teachers come and go, but I really feel like Ms. Diane has done a great job in staffing her school. My little one is now starting to read basic words, and considering my girls did not really know English when they first started here, it's been beyond amazing to me. So proud of the progress my daughter has made here. My older daughter also had a great year in kindergarten at SJUSD. But the year she spent at Learning Pathways more than prepared her for kinder. When you visit this school for the first time, it may seem overwhelming with the number of kids in a class. Or at least it was for me, coming from a small home daycare setting. But I love the teachers, and my daughters have always told me they have alot of fun at school. Ms. Diane and Mr. Todd are the sweetest people, and I'm so happy to see the school grow. My only regret is not having found the school earlier so that I could've put my older daughter here sooner. read more

We are so lucky to find this wonderful school for my daughter. Miss Diane and Miss Carla are great teachers! They are very caring and experienced. The curriculum that they use is called PATHS, and it's very fun and creative for kids. The classroom setting is wonderful, it is very clean and organized, they also have all the kids' art work on the walls. My daughter is speech delayed, but ever since she started school here about two months ago, she has picked up a LOT, she has been showing off all the phonics and songs that she has learned. The teachers are fantastic. The entire staff is fantastic. If Learning Pathways went past kindergarten my daughter would still be enrolled. I rarely give out five-star reviews, but this preschool is exceptional in every way. As soon as I met Miss Diane and Miss Carla, and toured the school, I got that "gut feeling" that this was the school for my daughter. The personal and friendly, yet professional way that the school is run is refreshing and comforting (especially compared to other preschools we saw when shopping for the right fit). Starting at age four and after moving across the country, my daughter immediately loved attending school at Learning Pathways, and absolutely bonded to her teachers. She has finished her kinder year in a public school, and she thrived due to the fact that Learning Pathways prepared her for school academically, emotionally, and socially. She STILL adores her preschool teachers! Now my youngest daughter is attending the school and is loving it as well. I would not put my kids in ANY other preschool in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend this school to my friends searching for quality care and teaching for their children! Fast forward 2 years later and it's time for us to move on to Elementary school. It's bittersweet, but I know that my daughter will look back and remember these years at Learning Pathways as some of her best years growing up. I feel compelled to say a few things in response to L C's 1 star review - she commented on ethics, small rooms and the curriculum. Todd and Diane are very honest people and run this place with integrity - they already have waiting list for 2018 school year, they don't need to resort to dirty tactics to get "business". The rooms are big and as for the curriculum, just go to their Facebook page and look at the weekly uploaded photos of kids thriving, partcipating, learning and having fun. This place is such a wonderful part of this community. Perhaps for some people its not good enough for their super genius kid, but for me I don't believe there is a better school. Already pre-registered my 18 months old here and will do the same for my 2 month old since their wait list is crazy now. This school looks fantastic from the outside, but I was shocked and applauded by the owner Todd's behavior. My husband and I were visiting the school next door when we were approached by Todd. When I mentioned this to the friend who had recommended the school to us he said that it is a common occurrence. Owners frequently approach parents as well as staff. As a parent I want my children to be exposed to people with moral integrity. I know it is a business, but come on! It is preschool for god sake. Though I had misgivings, we decided to tour the school. The rooms were small and they seem to have packed as many kids as possible in a small space. We met Miss Diane and she seemed warm, however the other teachers seemed uncomfortable and afraid to speak. Those who did speak seemed to be reading from a script. This school's curriculum seems disjointed and is based more on opinion rather than research. My husband and I have high academic standards and expect those teaching our child to be able to explain why they chose the technique they are using based on proven research rather than opinion. We also expect teachers to be current. We did not feel They were aware of the new teaching ideas or techniques. The best thing about this school is the yard. We loved it! However, because the owner has questionable ethics and business practices, the kids are packed into small rooms and the curriculum is unreliable, we have decided to look for another school. read more

Wow.. What an AMAZING school. My son has been attending Learning Pathways for a little over a month and I am SO impressed. He has so much fun here and is learning every step of the way during that fun. In fact, I have a difficult time getting him to leave in the afternoons. The teachers are top notch, the classroom is colorful, clean and inviting. I love that I am greeted with a smile every time I step foot through the door. This was such a warm, welcoming school for my daughter. Academically, she thrived, and is coming out of the Kindergarten class fully reading. Socially, the teachers foster a very inclusive, friendly community, encouraging kids to make new friends throughout the entire year. Our daughter is going to be starting at Learning Pathways when it opens in September. My husband, daughter, and I had a great time meeting with Diane and getting to know her and checking out the classroom. The classroom is designed to really help kids learn and grow; very hands-on and interactive. Our daughter is extremely shy around people she doesn't know well, and Diane won her over quickly---she is great with kids. As the offspring of teachers (both my mother and my husband's mother were elementary school teachers, both of our fathers were junior high teachers), quality teaching is important to us, and Diane's qualifications impressed us very much. Spending time with her and talking with her about her program only reinforced our feelings that we are making the right choice sending our daughter to Learning Pathways. Our daughter is excited about starting school at Learning Pathways, and we are equally excited about having her there with Diane. read more

I am so happy to have found this awesome school! My husband and I went to multiple schools trying to find the perfect place for our son. What made us choose this school over the rest was their learn and play philosophy. My son is a curious child, I liked the idea of him being able to incorporate everyday activity into his learning experiences. He only attends 3 half days a week and so far we have seen him learn most his alphabet sounds and he can start to write his name on his own. I am curious to see what he will be able to do by the end of the year! The other thing I really liked was how warm the teachers were toward the students. A lot of the other schools we went to didn't have that. It feels good to know that my son is with teachers who have a genuine passion for their work. My son told my husband and I the other day when we picked him up from school, that he loved his teacher Ms. Carla very much! Miss Diane and all the other faculty are wonderful and have demonstrated they can create a great learning environment for the kids. read more
