Really disappointed after taking my daughter in to re test for a milk protein allergy. All we…read morewanted was a skin test to confirm if she still has a dairy allergy. We were expecting on the first visit to find out, but that was not the case. It turned into 3 separate appointments just to get an answer, and then of course more appts after that to manage it. We have a high deductible with our insurance company so everything we pay is out of pocket until we meet our deductible. Knowing this, I called to cancel the other 2 appointments and will have to start again somewhere else. It feels like they are taking advantage of us as patients to address one concern. One concern=3 separate visits. Doesn't make sense and I was told it was "office policy." Ask the tough questions if you are a new patient and want to know their office policies.

Dr. Shoban and Ilya are great, but other office staff do not care about the customers. I had been…read morein allergy therapy for over a year when they repeaditly did not order new serum pushing me past the 4 week marker for my shots, risking my whole therapy. They had stated multiple times that it is very important to make shots within the 4 weeks for the thearapy to be effective. Long story short, I will not be continuing this therapy with this company while they continue to hire incompitent staff They also do not train their staff on how to charge customers that have insurances. I have a dual insurance and they tried to charge me a co-payment using the higher amount ($60 secondary insurance) instead of my Primary that carries $30. At the same time they also tried to charge my wife the same when the primary and secondary are reversed. Total SCAM in my mind. I hope you reconsider using their services and save you time and money.

I found her to be very open minded and offered opinions that as far as I could see were factual and informative. She has great communication skills that made the information clear and understandable. In the end I didn't buy hearing aids due to an insurance issue but I would go back to her if the situation allowed. I would recommend her to family and friends. The entire office was nice to work with.

My child needs his tonsils out. We've been going back and forth with doctors for several years, and…read morefinally, the doctor agreed it was time. We scheduled a surgery with Foothills Surgery Center, they have nowhere that you can leave reviews (I wonder why!). I was told we needed $400 before the surgery. Yesterday, I received a text stating that I had to come up with $3000 or my kid couldn't have his surgery. I called the surgery center, and they gave me options that I still could not afford. I asked for a monthly payment plan, and they refused. They either needed the $3k in full, $2500 plus additional monthly payments, or $1500 or more in monthly payments. I don't have that kind of cash! Their last option was CareCredit. I am not opening a credit card to pay interest on medical procedures; that is ridiculous. They canceled my surgery and refused to speak to me further. Boulder ENT then called me and told me that the surgery center is "not a charity". I wasn't asking for anything for free, I was asking for a payment plan that fits my budget and doesn't involve interest. The rep I spoke to told me, "Here is a name of a doctor, I have nothing else for you." Beware if you book here because Boulder ENT and Foothills Surgery center only care about money, not the health of patients. I'm pretty sure that them giving me a payment plan that fits my budget wouldn't hurt their pockets. And they do not care that they are hurting my pockets. This isn't about patient health anymore; this is only about money. I thought Doctors take an oath to do no harm!

I have experienced neglect, harassment, and discrimination from Dr. Volz or his wife, Laura. Despite immunology being a specialty and a textbook case, Dr. Volz neglected for over 22 years to diagnose my mother, my sister, or I with an immune deficiency. When my sister was finally diagnosed, he neglected to mention that it was genetic and that the rest of us should get tested. Turns out my mother and I also have the same exact immune deficiency. Dr. Volz would harass me about allergy shots and my asthma symptoms at every visit. I would, at every visit, turn down allergy shots, request that he not ask any more, and told him that if I ever changed my mind I would let him know. Also, I don't, nor have I ever had, asthma. The final straw was when Dr. Volz's wife, Laura discriminated against me. I have progressive hearing loss as a side effect from my immune deficiency (hmm, I wonder if I would not be going deaf had I gotten proper medical care here?), which is in my chart and on their paperwork. Because of this, I need to use alternative telecommunication methods. Laura straight up refused to communicate with me except by oral phone call, which is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Telecommunications Act of 1996. As a cherry on top, Laura then mailed out paperwork to my parents about privacy and permissions regarding communication with me (HIPPA violation, anyone? I was 22).

I was told he is an allergist but have no way of confirming this because the person answering the phone isn't really sure. its really annoying. Whatever I ask, the answer is: Ummm...OK...uhhh...well.... I'm not sure....maybe......silence......so what do you want.......do you want to make an appointment. Yeah. Like I wanna pay a $40 specialist copay to find out if he's an allergist or not and can perform a specific test. Anyhow, I finally ended up going, the Doc is OK and does an OK job at explaining your condition but the Bfld office and building are kind of run down. All in all would not recommend.
