My family and I enjoyed ShocktoberFest. The first few hours were children-friendly and the zombies came out around 7 PM. The only critique was that the lines moved very slowly, and we spent a good amount of time just waiting around. The hayride was pretty cool, and it was the best part of the evening. My kids enjoyed zombie laser tag, but my favorite was the unknown 3.0. I look forward to trying ShocktoberFest again next year, but this time with the VIP tickets. read more

We had a blast! My coworker recommended this haunt and we drove an hour and it did not disappoint. We showed up and had an hour wait until the hayride, but there was food trucks and shops that kept us occupied. There was a bbq burger with mac and cheese and fries in it. It was AMAZING. Located by the hayride entrance. We also had some mini donuts that were pumpkin spiced flavored, they were so good. Prices were decent. Spent around $30 for a full meal, drink, extra fries, and the donuts and a hot chocolate. The hayride was so fun and scary. No spoilers but they do something that no other hayrides in the Philly area do (none that I'm aware of). It was terrifying in the 30 secs it occurred. The walk through haunts were fun but if you don't want to crouch and walk, maybe not for you. There's a good 10-15 min of walking in a crouch. Also have to go up stairs so watch your footing. Another thing they do is a full zombie experience included in the general pass. They put spray paint on your face and they give you "zombie clothes." you get to be apart of the haut for 15 min, scaring guests. So unique and we had a great time! read more

Underwelming. Took our kids here for their first real haunt experience (theme parks aside)... Would NOT advise going in the middle of October on a Saturday. We waited 2 hours in line for the hayride. The website advises you to arrive early, so we did (around 6:00) but what they don't state is there's really nothing going on that early. The area you pass through (Midway?) was empty when we got there. They had all these booths set up and nobody there. The only thing open was laser tag, food, and beer. It was still light out so we decided to kill a little time before getting in line for anything--- What fun are haunts if it's not dark anyways? The kids did laser tag and seemed to enjoy it, but we watched from outside the fence and it looked pretty lame in the daylight. They didn't have any scarers in there at that time (if there was supposed to be any), so it was really just normal laser tag in the light... cool??? We grabbed a beer and food while we waited for the sun to go down before getting in line for the hayride and boy was that a mistake... Not even joking- we waited 2 HOURS in line, corralled like cattle for that one attraction. If you didn't pay the absurd RIP line-jumping price, you were screwed. What made it worse is there's nothing there to entertain you while you wait. They had music playing nearby, but it randomly stopped shortly after getting in line so there was dead silence for like an hour until they turned the music back on. You would think a place like this might have actors walking around trying to keep people entertained, or maybe a screen with a horror movie playing... something, ANYTHING to keep you from hyper-fixating on how angry you are because you're waiting in line for 2 hours.... Nothing. There was 1 zombie-type character that came through the line around an hour into our wait, and that was it. The only saving grace was that we did the prison afterwards and basically got right on the bus. That was a decent walk-through haunt. We didn't end up doing anything else because we were in such a bad mood from the wait. The kids were tired and bored.. So we just left. Having driven over an hour for that experience, I would never do it again. Maybe there was really cool stuff going on while we were waiting in line, but we didn't get to experience any of it if there was. I would have given the place a higher review were it not for the long wait. They should ditch the RIP pass... I'm sorry but it's such a sh*tty cash-grab when you're already paying a premium price for an attraction "park" that only has 2 real attractions. read more

Very fun experience and very on theme, The attractions are great and what I would consider scary, similar to field of screams. The jail attraction was my favorite, the bus they take you over to the jail in is very cool, The haunted hayride was also very cool and my second favorite. The actors often walk around the lines and mess with guests to pass time, they also tend to scare you sometimes while walking. I believed we paid around 40 dollars for 3 attractions. which I believe it is fully worth the money and I would definitely go again. read more

For years, this is one of my favorite Haunted Houses in the Philadelphia region. Visiting it again after a few years off was still a great experience. I've always loved the actors here and the different themes that they have. There is a lot to do at Shocktoberfest. We usually do the hayride, prison, and the haunted house, where you can run around naked or something if you get a special group. I have yet to find friends who would do this with us... The actors are among the best and I like the design of everything here. When you walk in, there is a Jurassic Park like entrance with a zombie on it. This year, we bought some cinnamon rolls from a food truck that was there. Tasted amazing, but not sure if that's always there. A good time and look for coupons online. read more

I have lived here my whole life and knew of Shocktoberfest. Never went. I was pleasantly surprised with the 3 attractions. The attention to detail and the fear factor involved. The fact that Shocktoberfest is currently on Groupon should have been our first clue of how far they've fallen in the past 5 years since our last visit. Somehow they've managed to keep every attraction pretty much the same and just adding a loose "zombie world" (based on Jurassic world) theme. So even though I haven't been here in about 5 years, literally nothing has changed. Except maybe they have less people working in the attractions and you wander around aimlessly trying to find entrances to things. Even the once lit up carnival-esque Monster Midway is not existent. Just random tents with face painting and food with a 15-20 minute wait for some warm apple crisp. Although they give you a list with an order of attractions based on your ticket purchase time, nothing started until about 7:30. (Our theory is the few actors they have are being utilized in the Zombie run because they do a wave at the very beginning and very end of the night when nothing else is running.) The prison of the dead is probably the best attraction. The unknown 2.0 and Hayride are just okay; if you've been to either in the last 5 years, they literally haven't changed except they now charge $10 for you to shoot some zombies with a paintball gun toward the end of the hayride. For the reduced price we paid, it was okay but I'll stick with Universal Halloween Horror Nights for my Halloween excitement! read more

This past Friday was my first time coming here since 2016. Not much has changed about shocktoberfest, which is mostly good. The staff here is very friendly and they try to do a good job of spacing everybody. In the prison, There were a lot of good scares by the actors. But there was also a good 5 minutes inside the prison with literally no actors scaring anyone (they could just be understaffed). And also while we were in the prison, one of the actors straight up approached us and said "I'm not going to scare you" and just walked away. At first I thought "okay they're probably gonna let us walk away and then come scare us from behind" but no. That literally did not happen. The actor I guess didn't feel like doing their job? Another thing we did was the 5 minute escape room. It was only an extra $5 so we figured why not? I feel like an escape room is hard to complete in 5 minutes, especially when they don't really tell you the meaning of the escape room (and they didn't). If they continue with the escape rooms next year, hopefully there will be some improvements. read more

I'm from the Field of Screams area and have attended every year for 10 years. As we had already gone this year, we were going to go to Jason's Woods for our weekly haunt! On a change of heart, we wanted to go somewhere better and happened to stumble upon Shocktoberfest. We expected it to be relatively good, but nothing spectacular. Like I said, we're from the Lancaster area so Field of Screams is the thing. We arrived at Shocktoberfest 10 minutes before the box office closed and all of the customers had left already! The staff let us stay another 2 hours and got us through all of the attractions at full level. The actors stayed, went all out, and gave us an absolutely TERRIFYING show. Nobody went home early on us. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. The actors were very attentive, high-energy, and just amazing. I have never been to a place scarier. The actors really knew how to get you. This was the scariest and best haunt experience I have ever had. And comparing it to Field of Screams this year which I have also just attended, Shocktoberfest was better. I very highly recommend! read more

Just went here last Sunday 9/29 .. It was pretty awesome but not quite as incredible as I had anticipated it to be. We were first timers and love all of this stuff around Halloween. Definitely impressed with the props and staging that was done throughout the entire experience. I loved that the actors could touch you. I don't know if I normally would ... But it was fun here ! It was pretty quiet here which I think played into me not being absolutely wowed with the experience. It was a Sunday nite on their first weekend so there was no crowd whatsoever ... In fact there were a max 2-4 of us in line at a time .. If any line at all ! That was great !! But at the same time , I think without the buzz of a lot of people there , hanging out , getting scared etc. it took away slightly from the overall experience for me. Overall it was really great ! Everyone that worked there, staff and actors were fantastic and friendly / helpful. I would just recommend some more actors through attractions ... But perhaps they're adding that on through the season. (Like I said we were there on the first weekend .. After going to a few other attractions and feeling disappointed and "robbed". We tried shocktoberfest. Omg!!! We have been coming back ever since!!! We bring friends every year and everyone loves it!!! I love the stay feeling. The carnival like feeling. I love the fact that after you do a attraction your not forced to leave like other attractions. I will say that it is starting to go down hill a little so please don't let it get corny. You have a great attraction. Also could monsters walk around more. One year they were every where that kept people in line happy and laughing But the last 2 years they are getting less and less and people have mentioned it in lines that they miss them. Went on the last night for the attraction which was a sunday. Since it was the last night there weren't a lot of people there and the actors were tired of being there, if was also about 40°. We really enjoyed this haunted attraction and had a lot of fun, however it would have been much better earlier in the season when the actors were excited to be there. We did the prison, unknown, hayride with paintball add on, zombie run, and the zombie experience. The prison- Was by far my favorite part of the entire night. It was huge and well thought out. Took about 25-30 minutes in there. I don't scare easily so I was only scared a couple of times. During some parts it would be a pitch black maze so we walked into a few walls. Nobody scared us during those parts in the prison and that was kind of disappointing especially since you would probably shit yourself if they jumped out at you while you were in them. Unknown- Was cool, not too big so was only about 10 minutes. However the props and stuff were very well put together. This also had a pitch black maze part. Hayride- Was your typical haunted hayride nothing too special but it was enjoyable. The paint ball add-on wasn't worth it. You only got about 20 paintballs to shoot and only had about 3-5 minutes. Zombie run- You wore a flag football belt and ran the length of the hayride, was about a mile. It would have been more fun if we were there earlier in the season. The zombies didn't really try to catch you, there was minimal effort by them to actually get your flags. Zombie experience- Again this would have been better if we were there earlier in the season. You got to be a zombie they painted out faces (used same sponge for everyone, gross) and then we were transported in a truck type thing with bars that closed us in to the prison. When we got to the prison they set us up in spots and we were then allowed to scare other customers. However there wasn't really anyone else there to scare. read more

ESCAPE ROOM 1 star I've played over 200 escape rooms nationwide and this experience falls in the bottom 5. It was horrible. The fact that it's in the haunt is cool, but the puzzles were ridiculously easy to the point I wouldn't even consider most of them puzzles and if that wasn't bad enough we weren't even able to solve most of them ourselves because the policewoman Natalia kept telling us what to do next before we were even done telling the whole group what we found. There was another random guy that came in halfway to hang out with her which was really unprofessional but at least he kept her distracted a bit so we had a second to solve one puzzle without her unwanted help. I made a couple of comments about it to her during the game, but she didn't take a hint...she just liked giving them a lot. There were way too many people stuffed into the game and not much for us to do since it's primarily linear. A major component in the room didn't work properly and she immediately explained that the mechanism want lit properly and instead of guiding us gently to discover it ourselves simply told me to put the code in the lock where I was standing. Come on...seriously...she couldn't even let us figure out where to put it ourselves!?!?! Also if you know something is broken, fix it. It almost felt like she wanted to rush us through so she could go home early. And we did get out with 25 minutes left. Apparently the earlier group got out faster than us. Generally if groups are beating an escape room in roughly half the time allotted, then changes need to be made. It is NOT satisfying when you aren't challenged at all. I promise we didn't beat the room because of my or my husband's experience because there was so little to do in this linear game that the group of 6 young people we were grouped with dominated and we pretty much sat back and watched for the most part. (They were very nice kids.) Lastly the story didn't make any sense at all. THE UNKNOWN 2.0 3 stars The opening almost ruined the experience for me. This was the first thing we did at Shocktoberfest. The 3D doesn't look right and the glasses were hard to see through. It is a poor set up to a good maze. Unfortunately within the first minute of being in the maze itself the girl in front of us got hit very hard by a wooden door when a guest came barreling through it. It appeared as though she got hit in the face and her eye looked swollen. The rest of the maze was really fun. It was very very dark at times. They made good use of common fears and "boo scares". There was one thing that stood out to me and it was an exceptional actress with a few special smaller friends about halfway through. Also a special zombie and effect near the end were pretty spectacular. PRISON OF THE DEAD 5 stars Wow! Just wow! Really really well done! This was the second attraction we did this evening. It blew me away. The actors were top notch, the kind of quality work I expect at a professional theme park event like Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. (And I go to HHN in Los Angeles every year and used to work it so I know the the training and quality of their actors.) The space was wonderful and made great use of the theme and storytelling. The effects were outstanding. They got me to scream twice, like really scared scream not fun loud squeals followed by laughter the way I generally go through haunts. The last time I screamed like that was at 13th Gate in Baton Rouge last year. (I can't remember a time before that.) Well done. THE MONSTER MIDWAY 1 star There was a free photo op that will be posted on the internet. There were real bathrooms, not porta potties. The Hyundai booth had free games such as corn hole and that thing where you use a mallet to hit and thing and ring the bell on the pole. There were NO roaming monsters or zombies. There was a small food area with burgers, fried Oreos, and such. However it was cold and there was nowhere warm to hang out while we waited for our timed attraction after completing the mazes, so we actually left and grabbed dinner and came back. We got through both mazes in about an hour because the line was less than 10 people. THE FACT THAT THEY TOLD ME TO RIDE IN THE BACK OF A PICKUP TRUCK TO GET BACK TO THE PARKING AREA AT THE END OF THE NIGHT- 0 stars Do the Burroughs and safety/fire inspectors know you do that? Went here last night for the zombie hunt attraction. We paid 39.95 for the top human mission. Stood in line for almost an hour after registering. The website said to expect the experience to be 30 minutes to an hour. Zone 1 took about 20 minutes but zone 2 was only about 5. So a little disappointing in thw length. Also the guns were supposed to be loaded with 4 mags of lazer tag ammo and they accidwntly only loaded then with 2 mags. Thats was a package below what we paid for. We were sent out in a large group and people sent with us caused a giant cluster which allowed the zombies to get close and drain the health on on our rankings. So that kinda sucked. In zone two no one was near us and we really got to enjoy the experience. Sadly this zone was super short (just like a 100 yard strech) so our group of three just powered right through taking out zombies and then we got to the end of the long lane stretch and it was over. Was a fun experience, could definatly have used more organization based on the cost per person. Seemed like the people running it got backed up and may jave just been pushing people through by the rime it was our turn. read more

It's really great. I drove all the way from NYC, because I love haunted houses, and the 3 hour drive, 100 hotel room, and 70 dollars for entrance fee were all worth it because we had a BLAST. The hayride and the prison are the best, honestly you can skip the UNKOWN, but you could also do it because it gives you extra time in haunted house, and sets you up for the others. SUPER fun, and better than anything else I've seen in NY. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I wasn't BLOWN AWAY by it. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a great time and worth the money and trip. Seriously, if youre looking for a fun haunted house that really DOES have some great scares, come here. read more

Two stars for getting scared once. Note to attraction: "actors" screaming at high decibels the entire time does not equal being scary. One actor on the hay ride took his banter with my s/o a little too far, and in front of kids no less. Was foul and will not even repeat it. Waited in the tent almost an hour for anything to happen, and had to hear skipping cds at high volumes during that time. Super! The Unknown attraction was a bust for me. If walking through mostly pitch black hallways and running into walls is thrilling to you, have at it. I do love the rule that actors can touch you, but you cannot touch back. Some of these people, to me, were far too grabby. Especially when you repeatedly tell someone to stop. I am writing this review on behalf of my boyfriend and myself, who have two completely different tastes when it comes to spooky scares. Let me start with mine. I'm a complete wuss. I do not appreciate startling scares such as loud noises and people grabbing me out of nowhere. I DO appreciate well-designed sets and props, as well as good costuming, makeup, and acting. I participated in the Zombie Safari hay ride, and I LOVED it! Everything about the ride was excellent! I was a little freaked out, but in a fun way. I think it's the most family-friendly attraction there. The only criticism I have is that there isn't more to do for pansies like me. It would be nice if there was an option for milder scares so I could enjoy more with my other half, but I know they aim to please the thrill-seeking crowd, so I can't expect too much. My boyfriend, lover of all fantastic and crazy thrills, enjoyed every minute of the hay ride with me, and then went to walk through the Prison of the Dead. (I waited in the car, because again...I'm a wuss.) He came back with a huge smile on his face and raved about it the entire way home. He said the set/props were extremely well done, and the actors made it feel very real. We are both excited to return next year. :) read more

This truly is one of the best haunted houses in the area. With three different attractions with a great staff, it's hard not to have a great time. I went here last year and once again this past week. It is 99% the same as it was last year. It's hard to mess up a production like this. During "The Unknown", you are pushed through dark corridors in a maze from section to section. Most of it is too dark to fully appreciate, but still is one of the better mazes out there. Then there is the prison. Definitely my favorite. It's similar to "The Unknown" where you walk through a giant linear path, but it takes you inside, outside, through tight spaces and more. The actors there are more than interactive. Recently they added three flags to represent "your organs". If you don't make it out with all of your organs, you're dead. It's a cute little effect, but really doesn't do much else. Especially when you can't be competitive with running and protecting yourself. It doesn't help when there is a dullard in front of your group who acts more like a bottleneck than anything. Lastly, there is the classic haunted hayride. This is the best one in the area, hands down. The only thing that would ruin this classic would be the others on your hayride. Unfortunately, I was in a group of 15+ people from another haunted attraction who did nothing but curse, complain that they arent scared, and try to spook somebody. Namely one **** named Sierra. Thank god I was only on one attraction with her. There is food here and some carnival games, but overall, you are going to have a hard time beating this Halloween attraction read more

The true measure of a haunted attraction is how many times you scream... After the past two haunted attractions I've been to I had thought I was over that part of it. Yet Shocktoberfest made me scream in inventive ways more than a few times. If you are looking for an attraction with quality production values that will creep you out, come here! I'm just glad we didn't listen to the negative reviews. The actors were all consistent and the attractions are very well-designed. This is among the best, and I have been to over a dozen haunted attractions. Most recently Night of Terror, which is great in its own right. It was elaborate and well-done but on a level that wasn't scary but more of a spectacle. I didn't scream once there, while even the toughest to startle in my group at least jumped a few times at Shocktoberfest. In The Unknown, they take full advantage of the pitch-blackness of much of the attraction. What is genuinely creepy is having actors grab you from all different angles in the dark. When your group is walking through pressed against each other, it's even more unnerving once you realize it wasn't the person behind you that had touched you. The 3D effects were cheesy but it's a fairly simple, well-done scare. What I commend Shocktoberfest on is the backstory added to much of the attractions, especially the hayride. The actors stay in character and make it feel like a movie. It's a unique experience, and many of the animatronics are Universal-level. While I doubt we walked the entire 50,000 square feet they claim it is, the prison is well-designed. The flickering lights can add up to brilliant scares and the tunnels are a deviously fun addition. Naked and Scared could've been eerie, but it frankly wasn't any different than going through the unknown clothed. Probably because there were less actors but this is an attraction that's only great once. Wasn't anywhere near as creepy the second time around. The zombie run was fun although I had expected the zombies to put up more of a fight and chase victims further. I was able to sprint past each one although it was a cool experience. One major con is that this place is unorganized. We had paid for all the attractions yet they closed The Zombie Experience early before 9pm despite the site saying that attractions don't close until all customers have gone through them. Higher quality attractions than expected, and it's one of the best in the tri-state. read more

Drove about an hour to get here, and the drive wasn't bad. We came with $25 all access passes from Facebook ads, good for a Thursday or Sunday night. We came on a Thursday. It wasn't crowded at all and we got on all the attractions within a decent amount of time. The Unknown wasn't the best attraction in the world as most of it was just darkness. The added 3d glasses just made it impossible to see anything. It lasted a good 15 minutes though, so at least it was a nice amount of time. I just didn't care for it. The Haunted Hayride was the best! It was about 20 minutes long and took you on a spooky adventure. It was awesome and the effects were great. I would recommend this one to anyone! I must say this place is probably too scary for kids though. The Prison of the Dead Escape was cool cause you had a football belt with flags on it that the zombies tried to grab. I survived with one flag left, but I felt as if they didn't try very hard to grab my flags. It would've been more fun if they tried harder. They tried more in the end, which I guess makes cause they want you to have some for the end to make it more fun. Overall I would say the $25 pass was definitely worth it! I don't think the full price $34 is worth it for a Thursday night though because there seemed to be less actors than there should've been. So I'm glad we had the discount. The no lines benefit was great too and there is no need to buy the RIP pass on a Thursday evening. read more

Where do I start.... Ok first of all the whole point of buying tickets online is to save time right? We got there and had to wait in line for 45 minutes to have our online tickets scanned to enter while the regular lines were moving.... Nowhere on their website does it mention that this place is cash only and the atm at the ticket booth was out of order. So now we are almost an hour in and heading to our first attraction. We purchased the package for all the attractions plus the rip wrist band so no line waits. It is set up so poorly that we you are led into the 2.0 experience to listen to a poorly done 3d video with bad 3d glasses you now have to wait on another line to get into the haunted house!! Waste of money on the vip wristbands for a disappointing haunted house!! Next stop was the prison. Again waited in line to be packed in a school bus like a sardine. Once we got there because we boarded the bus first we were last in line for the haunted house. Your zombies were kids in hoodies with bad makeup that looked like they would rather be anywhere else. After wasting 3 hours of my life getting through 2 out of 5 attractions we called it quits. Don't waste your time or money at this place!!!!! I live pretty local, I would have been really upset if I had driven here from distance. The staff doesn't really care, the actors don't really care, and the only scary this about this place is that people are actually paying their hard earned money and expecting something fun! Went for the first time on a Saturday night - Got in line to purchase tickets for single attraction Haunted Hayride at 7:30PM - Walked out of that line with Tickets in hand at 8:40... walked directly to the Haunted Hayride line - wasn't on a hay wagon until 11:40 PM... 4 hours of standing in line... 3 of those hours, were on hard concrete... under a tent... listening to a terrible DJ on repeat with light show. Never again - not scary, terrible customer experience from a wait perspective, terrible organization - one wagon/truck got stuck - which apparently "delayed" the whole night (which I find hard to believe since ticket purchasing took over an hour)... our wagon ride almost turned disastrous when the truck driver ran the wagon up side a tree. I feel bad for the hundred plus people who were still in line behind us... It was a complete waste of time and money. I gave one star only because I have to - but this place ows me stars. For the record, I was with a 12 year old goddaughter - it was completely un scary, and "zombies" regularly broke character. Went on Halloween. It was not croweded at all which i thought it might be. The employees said they usually are not crowded on Halloween because everyone is trick or treating but any other day they are. Lots of attractions. Good: Prison of the dead, Zombie Experience, Zombie Night Run. ( not in that order) During Zombie Experience you can be scared or be a zombie and scare others. That was pretty cool. Zombie night run was fun...we did that late night and you run while they try to grab flags on your waist for about a mile. Prison of dead was cool. Couldn't see for a while in pitch black darkness but lots of people popping out. Zombie paintball was the only thing i didnt like and that was what i was really excited about. (Disappointed). But not enough to give this 4 stars. The actors are mixed between adults and kids...Most are creepy and/or funny. They do try to scare you and at times you get numb to the actors or their props. Overall great experience. I would recommend it to others. read more

This review is for the Zombie Ground Assault Traveled from NYC to celebrate a birthday for a special 12 year old and she had a blast! The concept is simple: Choose a level (we picked Major Sergeant with unlimited ammo). Pick up weapon and attend briefing. Transport by a Prison bus, right out of the Walking Dead. There are 2 zones. The first is the Prison of the Dead. The other is The Unknown. Shoot at the zombies that surprise you at every turn (all have an electronic band around their heads to indicate dead/undead). Keep it moving because they will come back to life quickly. You navigate through dark rooms and brief stints outside but the zombies attacks are relentless. Your adrenaline will go through the roof! Highly recommended for all! If you love the Walking Dead, this is about as close as you'll ever experience other than being on the set. Shocktoberfest is definitely worth the visit to Sinking Spring if you follow these tips: 1. Come with a buy one get one free all access pass, which you can pick up at the local HESS gas station or inside of your entertainment book. 2. PURCHASE THE RIP PASS. This is 15 dollars extra per person and allows you to not wait in lines. After waiting in line for OVER an hour for the first attraction I was frozen and miserable. My boyfriend really wanted to check out the other attractions so we went back to the ticket booth and paid the extra 30 bucks between the two of us. The line for the Haunted Hayride was literally TWO hours long. We walked right up to the front. If i had to wait in the line I would have cried. 3. Check out the food stand up front which belongs to a local diner. Their cheesteaks are pretty decent. read more

Went here on a Sunday night with my husband, little brother, and 2 sons. We drove 1.5hrs mostly for the zombie ground assault. I had signed up on their website for coupons. One of the coupons was for half price kids under 52" or $5 off a combo ticket. Since we wanted to use the coupon we decided to also do the zombie hayride with paintball add-on. Once we were at the ticket booth we were told the kids were too tall to use the one coupon (true) and we had to buy 3 attractions to get the $5 off. I questioned this and the staff quickly got annoyed with me. I explained that I thought the coupon was misleading but would pay since we were already there. I forgot to mention that I could not find a working number anywhere to ask questions before hand. I will post a picture of the coupon which states $5 Off a combo ticket which was compared to the sign that stated 2 attractions was a "double" and anything more was a "combo". We started off at ground assault. The kids had fun BUT it is nothing like the video seen on their website. I only saw 2-3 zombies and otherwise it was a typical laser tag game of red vs blue. Also, the guns are your typical laser guns which again are different than what is shown in the video. Next we headed over to the hayride which we had paid the additional $10pp to shoot paintballs. The wagon was filled with hay and pulled by a truck but comfortable enough. The hayride was decently long and definitely had some jumping moments. The paintball part....your wagon pulls up to an area and paintball guns pushed up to one side of the wagon. You have approx 100 paintballs to shoot at the 4ish live zombies. My kids went through them in a matter of about 1 min. Prior paintball hayrides we experienced you were able to shoot at multiple times in multiple areas....so this was not as good comparatively speaking and especially for the cost. Overall the experience was ok. For a 3hr ride round trip and $180 with rude commentary from the staff (I'm assuming manager at ticket booth) I don't think we will return. I will mention that the prison is supposed to be their scariest attraction which we didn't do. Off to the next haunt! read more

Pretty cool! The venue is large. The scare zones were pretty scary. We did not have to wait too long in the lines. The longest line was the prison tour. Even though there was a wait, they had a DJ pumping out music, and some dancing. Pretty cool way to burn time. Plenty of snacks and hot drinks that wont break your wallet. read more

Hands down the best Haunted House / Hayride / Zombie Run around!!!! I was amazed on how big the course is. I literally want to take a tour during the day because there is so much to look at that you don't have time to look at because your worried about the Zombies. I went with my family and every last one of us had a blast. I loved how the Zombies interacted with my kids. They would do their best to scare us at just the right times but also made sure to go overboard if my youngest was caught of guard. They even came out of character once or twice to make sure we were ok. Absolutely hands down a must visit attraction!!!!! read more

We arrived on a Sunday night around opening. The longest wait was just at the ticket booth for about 8 minutes. After reading numerous reviews, we decided to only do their worthy attractions which is the Prison of the Dead and Unknown 2.0. Everyone suggested to skip the hayride. Prison of the Dead: I loved how you have to ride a school bus with bars on the windows to get to the Prison. It added to the fun factor. We lucked out, with only 7 people total in our group, so that made the experience much more eerie. The Prison was much bigger then I expected and took roughly 30-35 minutes to get through while taking our time. We definitely were startled numerous times throughout. They incorporate several pitch black hallways. You literally have to feel the walls in order to get around. It was fun the first 2 times but then got old fast. They come up randomly throughout the attraction. Nothing really happens in them. At the very least have some kind of trigger you step on/pass that could activate a loud sound/vibration. They also have random tunnels you have to crouch through as if you are walking through the sewer, some with variations of lighting such as strobe lights. I thought they had the perfect amount of actors, since the venue is so HUGE you feel alone during the silent moments which adds to the fear factor. It also added tension because you naturally look at spots where the actors could be hiding but it was 50% chance that they would actually be there. I loved this unpredictability! However, my GF and sister wished there were more actors. They were so creative with the scenes like the dirty poop filled bathrooms, shower rooms, cells etc. I recall being freezing cold before entering the prison, but then leaving all sweaty and hot due to all of the stress/anxiety. The overall atmosphere of the prison is truly eerie and they did an AMAZING job with the design and props. You could tell they spent YEARS trying to perfect this attraction. Trip was worth it just to see the prison alone! Unknown 2.0: This was much shorter, about 10-15 minutes to get through. I liked the creative use of the 3D movie, and thankfully it was just for the first few minutes then you have to return the glasses... which is a good thing because you can hardly see anything with them on. It was cute as it reminded me of being at Universal Studios where you have a intro video before entering the actual attraction. There were various rooms that focused on common phobias. For example, they had snakes, spider room, clown room, doctor/dentist etc. To me this attraction was not as scary, although the actors did get me good 1-2 times. On the other hand, my GF and especially my sister were terrified. At one point my sister started running, it was HILARIOUS! Overall: I am glad I ignored the poor Yelp reviews and made the 2 hour drive (one way) to experience Shocktoberfest. We were in and out in exactly 1 hour. I thought the Prison of the Dead was the best attraction (more scary for me) but my GF/sister preferred Unknown 2.0. We are glad we went, but it is a one time only thing for us. I would categorize this as a Tier 2 haunt. Not a mom and pop haunt, but at the same time not a mainstream top quality haunt like Field of Screams/Pennhurst/Bates Motel. We rate it a 4/5. Also, I felt bad for the people that paid for VIP. There were no wait times when we went near opening. It made me sad to see that people paid almost double for nothing. read more

Two horrific experiences.......1 day! The website clearly states that zombies get tee-shirts and to do the run as well. When I asked for my tee shirt I was told "someone" was supposed to take that off the website. If it was not included it should not have said so at time of purchase. The people running the event were disorganized and no clear direction was given by anyone. Then, at the small carnival......the man at the ball toss.....did not want to honor my sons win and instead of letting him choose his prize......threw two animals at him.....one with a metal clip attached......hitting him in the face. Then tried to shame him for winning by saying he's not going to make any money now. Clearly not an enjoyable event for families!!!!! read more

This place was okay, but not good. Waiting for the hayride in line under this stupid, smelly tent with a horrible DJ and worse, repetitive music was only the beginning. Then there was the hayride itself, which was far from scary. Probably the scariest part was large, rope like tings coming from the ceiling of the one hayride building. Gross! I don't know where they've been at before! Before moving onto the next attraction, I should add that the "zombies" screaming in out faces at aweful, high-pitched tones is not scary, just a migraine lol. The jail exhibit is just dangerous- Dark lighting with skinny tunnels to crawl through- I'm now bruised up. Then there was the Unknown attraction. Yes, I am deathly afraid of clowns, so the room filled with clowns did a wonderul job scaring me! Finally!!!! But other than that, it consisted of the same dark, dangerous, mazes where We all kept banging our heads on the walls (I think that's what they were) and bruised ourselves up. The last is the "zombie run." It was the same exact path as the hayride- just no hayride, but instead, you run through it. I couldn't believe my roommate talked me into that- The running "path" was very unsafe with sticks and uneven rocks along the "path." I fell and bruised/scrapped my knees there. I give two stars instead of one for my overall reciew because the staff were pretty curteous, plus the clown room in the one exhibit did scare the f*ck out of me!!! My friends and I went last night 10/30/21. 5+ stars as always. Last night was better than the other years. Peyton "Giggles" was awesome. Her acting skills and her social skills were top notch. Whether she was chasing someone with her chainsaw or taking photos she was always polite. Anthony in the prison was on top of his game. He scared me SEVERAL times and screamed out my name. His acting skills and social skills were awesome. Robert in the prison was also awesome. There was a young male that was at "The Unknown" in a white and red jacket (Don't have his name) that was interacting with each and every guest that was waiting in line (I do have video of him). The driver of our bus to take us from line to the prison and back again was also friendly. (not sure what his name was, just knew that he was a tree trimmer). For the 2 1/2 hour drive one way it was well worth it. Can't wait to see what is in store for next year. read more

I just want to say thank you so much for the great experience! First of all the makeup was great, kudos to your makeup people because they rocked it out. Second, I had a blast being a zombie, it was so cool. Where you placed me was perfect! I got to see everyone go through and I was able to get a good amount of flags. People would go past the bridge thinking they were safe, but just then I showed up. I had a blast and I will do this next year. It was great. Thanks for an awesome time!
