There is a small selection of shoes and a nice variety of scarves, headbands, and gloves that are affordable and priced appropriately. The jewelry is trendy and cute, but similar pieces can be found elsewhere for cheaper prices. Service is warm, friendly, and helpful. Thank you Kittson for coming to Bismarck! I saw three young girls in the middle aisle towards the back by hair coloring. I picked up my braiding hair and made a decision in an estimated time for 50 seconds and was never approached. While shopping my son is getting agitated so I placed my items on the counter because one till had a sign saying it was closed. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible because I was afraid my son would wreck the place. As i stand there not once was my husband,my son or myself were acknowledged. My husband tries to approach the girls trying to figure out who works there but we couldn't tell. Finally I approach them by yelling by the curling irons "DO ONE OF YOU WORK HERE?!" Then a very inconvenience way one of the girls replied "I do?!" As if how dare I interrupt her as she's having a conversation with a customer. I informed her that I'm ready to check out and she said she'll be there when she's done, she's helping someone right now. Then continue to apologize to the two girls she was speaking with the entire time. If i didn't need my items right then I would have left them there and never returned. If anyone wanted to steal from the store they could have. She was no where near the cash wrap or even watch the door. I'm a form store manager for Ulta beauty and I know personal this isn't the way Sally's does business. My husband is as well a store manager in town and we both could not believe what was happening. They young lady apologized to me once she came to the front and by that time I was completely disgusted by that point and wanted no parts. She told me to have a nice day. I've been to this location before during the day and had a lovely experience. I guess going there in the evening isn't the best time.

They fixed it on the spot, explained to me how to avoid the problem in the future, and didn't change me anything for the repair. (And unlike some places in Bismarck, I didn't get any side eye for being a guy who sews.) They also have a good selection of vacuum cleaners for sale in the store. Their prices are good and, unlike the big box stores, theirs come with a warranty and they'll fix them for you if needed. They have a little parking lot. Their entrance is from the parking lot, not the main side of the street that their address is on. It's actually a little hard to see where they are until you drive past it, because of how the sign is angled -- I'll post a pic to clarify. I'd definitely recommend this place for your vacuum and sewing needs in western North Dakota.

I always bring my vintage sewing machines to be serviced at J&R. Chase is my go to technician. He is amazing at what he does! If the issue with your sewing machines is fixable, he will make it happen! He has an amazing amount of knowledge and he has so much passion for what he does, I appreciate that in a technician, thats when you know your machines are in good hands! Then I couldn't even find my sons size in any shoe I had to just look for his size and open the box and hope they were boys. It was a mess. Worst Kohl's I've ever been to. They're lucky they are the only one for hundreds of miles and that they're not my normal Kohl's, we were just in Bismarck for the day. Oh and when I told the lady checking me out she said "oh well sorry". I'm not saying the store has to be perfect but it had every brand, every size and gender all just thrown around in the kids section.
