I dropped off a pair of boots (made in China I'm sure purchased at Big 5) as the soles just came "unglued" I stored this in my attic for a year because of space & surprised the glue failed I guess? Anyway, took them in & paid the $50.00 quoted and a week later I went back in to pick up. Upon leaving the shop I noticed in the sunlight the recent repairs (haven't worn them yet) the case seemed to be separating from the shoes? Took them in immediately and showed, "no problem" I'll have them for you tomorrow. Picked up and they seemed much better all the way around. I'm not going to store them in the attic & plan on wearing them regularly. I'll update to a 5 star if they hold after wearing for a while. The pleasantness of the owner to understand & acknowledging the issue with prompt service is why I'm sure I'll use him again if needed. read more

First time we took my shoes to have soles repaired, he said four days. When husband went to get them, he hadn't started them. When he finally finished them, the soles turned out to be only partly glued. We have used gorilla glue to finish the repairs, along with the drying time, and there are still a couple loose spots. I brought my used dansco shoes on a Thursday to get a new rubber heel nearly a month ago. He said they would be done by Wednesday of the following week. I went on that Wednesday to pick them up. I had already paid so I figured it would be in and out. Nope, he could not find them. The place is a total disgusting mess. He said come next week. I went on Tuesday. Nope, not done after he searched and searched and finally found them. . He said the shoes would be done on the following day. They were not. Again, he said they would be done in a week. I waited the week and went yesterday. He found them, after a bit. Not done. That was 4 trips not counting the initial drop off by this time. I did go back today. I had to get a pair of dance shoes re-heeled-- the little rubber stoppers on the ends. I thought a cobbler would do a better job than I could, like if I got the supplies and learned how to do it myself via YouTube or something. The shop itself is interesting and filled with ancient shoe repair equipment and photos of the people before him who were cobblers too, I guess. It cost $15 and took about a week. The stoppers are not flush with the heel. There is glue (or plastic?) coming out of the sides, as well as pieces of leather that should have been tucked under or cut off. One heel looks better than the other. It's very sloppy and disappointing. I didn't bother going back in because I doubted his ability to do a better job. The shop's always busy, and he does get some good reviews, so maybe he's overwhelmed, but still. Don't do a subpar job on what should have been the simplest shoe project and expect a good review. read more

Javier charged quite a bit for the repair but said he would hook it up and the shoes would look new. A week later we show up to pick up the shoes at 915 am. ( shop opens at 9 am) He does not show up until after 10 am. The shoes do not look new. they look the same as when I dropped them off. Fixed one little thing and that was it. Horrible service. I bought a friend a genuine leather Fanny pack & brought it here to get a patch of his business logo put on. It was THE worst quality stitching. It was crooked the first time I went to pick it up. The 2nd time there was holes left on patch, the threading was loose & so unappealing to the eye. & Javier offers the WORST customer service. Please save yourself the heartache & go elsewhere. Talk about NASTY! Hard to find a decent shoe cobbler these days. This particular stores review said reasonable prices, good quality. It was the second place and the last in my area to try. He said it would be $25 to replace one zipper on one boot. I didn't think that was so reasonable but he was firm. Since it was my second place and I needed them, I decided to try him. When I went to pick the boot up, the zipper was stiff pulling up and down and the clasp he used was flimsy. I asked if he had another that was stronger. He ripped the boot from my hand and started pulling the zipper up and down, and up and down very quickly saying "see, there's nothing wrong with it, it's fine!" However, he did it in a nasty way, thrust the boot at me and said goodbye in a very dismissive way! I said thank you and smiled to myself thinking, Never again. Just Poor business. Dropped off my fiancé's designer shoes with Javier on December 20th, to repair damaged leather heel and paint the leather black. Javier said the shoes would be ready to pick up on December 30th around noon, and was charged up front for the service. On December 30th at noon, I arrived to pick up the shoes and Javier says the shoes aren't ready. He says "I'll have them ready around 3pm". I come back around 3:30pm and pick up the shoes. After taking a good look the shoes are far from ready.. it looks like he rushed and got black paint all over the shoe. For $45 job you would think he would take his time! This guys has no attention to detail, I think I could have done better myself! First and last time I use this shop. My Fiancé was upset her shoes looked so sloppy and there's no way to fix them. Was hoping to be able to patronize a business within walking distance to my house. Told me they'd call me within week when my shoes were ready. I waited two weeks, went in, and my shoes were nowhere to be found. I waited in there for 40 minutes while they searched high and low, and alas, my shoes had disappeared. I dropped off a pair of causal full-grain leather leather shoes to be re-soled. Price was $50 - Told me they'd be done in a week. The shoes were $110 new, only a couple of years old so to me, worth $50 to re-sole them. I returned in one week to find my shoes had been re-soled ok, but the shoes had also been covered in a red-brown shoe polish so that they looked like leather dress-shoes. Totally changed the color and appearance of the shoes! The owner denied he had applied red-brown colored shoe polish, which was obviously not true. He did offer to try to take it off... however I'd have to come back the next day. When I returned the next day, he had removed the red-brown colored shoe polish and the leather had been cleaned. I told the owner I won't probably wont return to his shop with any of my business, and he shrugged his shoulders. That says a lot, by itself. read more
